Defensive talent/execution.
For us to win this year will take a little bit of luck, a continually improving offense, and a solid defensive game-plan. We're still not up to their level in terms of overall developed talent, but we're getting closer.
if we had that last year, we might of won that game.
Might have won?
Aim for their Flat Tops!
Fire highly energetic wolverine beams.
Epic.
play solid defense and force turnovers. It would help to have someone, anyone smoke Pryor a couple times.
And don't give up the backbreaking big t.d. run.
That's a start.
Score more points than they score.
I put the over/under on comment # for this response at 5, so I guess that's a push?
Chronologically, it was the 3rd comment made
Should've taken the under in the bet with myself.
I thought it would be first.
How sad is it that people have young hot women in bikinis as their avatars? Get over it.
You're right. Yours is soooo much cooler. I wish I could be as cool as you.
Actually, it's not sad at all. Extremely unsad. I would rather look at his avatar than yours.
That's a rad Phineas Gage avatar.
I need to see a few more before I can judge.
+1 because your avatar is better than Magnus'
i disagree i was thinking we could take the bold strategy of scoring less points than them
That's right, Cotton, they will not be able to see. A bold strategy. Let's see how this works out for them.
i posted that and instantly thought of that line. i was just hoping somebody else would think of it good job
but then also give up less points than them, we win! It's a two-pronged strategy. That's what makes it so strategic.
work in hockey.
Come on guys, if anything you should neg this comment. Don't be enablers to my smartassness! ;)
1. Do not give up big plays
2. Put 6 on the board through special teams (i.e. Woodson & Desmond)
3. Win the battle of field position
4. Control the clock.
5. Minimize turnovers
6. Have more points at the end of the game
1. confidence 2. team unity 3. effort 4. positive turnover margin
Seriously, the biggest thing is to focus, but not to be too concerned/cautious. Go out there and treat them like any other team. I remember a big hoopla when RR said something to the tune of "I view OSU like any other team... I want to beat them" But I agree 100% with him. Yes, that is the ultimate rival, but you can't get too caught up in it. Forget the last 6 or so years, they're beatable.
wait, sorry, damn. That Norte Dame crap won't work here. Ahhhhhh.
Hit them harder than they hit us.
Play like we did last year, minus Tate Forcier.
why is this negged if everyone played like they did last year and tate plays up to what he showed before we win. Just like this guy is saying.
The key to beating OSU is to infiltrate Tressel's house and steal all his Sweater vests. They are the key to his power and without them he is powerless against the Block M.
Also, he would drown his sorrows in wine coolers and end up hitting a player and being dismissed.
the gag reflex upon seeing their ugly uniforms. It's hard to play well when you're throwing up.
Oh, and some other stuff, too, I guess.
i think the key is to recruit the hell out of OL and DL. i sound like a broken record of course, everybody says that. but if there is one huge talent gap between us and OSU to me, it is at the LOS.
their depth, talent, and size has worn on UM's lack of these past few years.
That, and their back 7 seems to be able to have guys step in from their first start as a collegian and not run around like their heads have been cut off. We have multi-year starters who still play clueless. Granted, some/a lot of that can be attributed to changing coordinators every damn year while OSU has had consistency in coaching, so it would help if we won enough games this year for all the coaches to keep their jobs.
John Cooper
Don't turn the ball over... 5 times.
Break Pryor's legs and force them to use whoever else is considered a QB on their team.
Just twist his ankle so he cant run effectively and make him throw the ball. No need for a different guy.
Defense + sacrifices to the sometimes benevolent and Michigan hating gods
Brandon Graham. :(
we had BG for years and couldnt beat them :(
cause holy crap that would be awesome.
Art Regner says, "find out what the problem is and RECTIFY IT"
Maybe that was the Red Wings old Artie was referring to, but it should work just as well for M.
Break the fuckin lock!
We have to play some defense and shut down their run. Our run defense the last six games against Ohio State has been abysmal and they have outrushed us in every game since 2004.
Score at least 1 more point than they do.
Physically beat an interior blocker and drag the ball-carrier down in the backfield on first down. This ends most Ohio State drives before they start.
Roy Roundtree.
John Cooper--and not having five interceptions and a functioning arm on Henne.
