Hockey pet peeve: "when a teammate tips a puck in on you, which is exactly how my first collegiate goal against happened. Thanks, Copper."

Also, every once in a while someone tries to sound smart by saying "timesout" instead of "timeouts." Can we ban that as well?

is funnier from the ha ha look at their faces perspective, but as a sports photo, the second is so much better.

Keep doing them forever and ever.

This might be my favorite feature here now.

Can I have your autograph?
|2 years 5 weeks ago||Two things:||
1: That's WAY WAY WAY over the line, and
2: Shouldn't it be "than"? The shirt conveys an entirely different message than it intends...
|2 years 20 weeks ago||You beat me.||
I think you said it better, too. Adults need to be adults.
|2 years 20 weeks ago||That's sad.||
There should be school leadership on site to shut that down immediately. On multiple occasions during local high school athletic events in my town I've seen administrators immediately step in and shut down insulting chants. (They've never been insulting to the degree of those in the OP, but they still cross the line.) The more I see, though, the more I get the impression that's not the norm. That's kind of sad. High school kids are going to say and do dumb things -- there ought to be leadership there to let them know when they cross the line.

the UP work somehow, but I don't have that kind of skill. I like the UP and wanted to fit it in, but that'll have to left to someone more graphic designy than I. Having the UP just sitting there all blue while the Mitten had wings just made the UP look sad.

they're pretty much the same thing.
Anyway: I spend most of my time on twitter now. I find that's easier to keep up with.

I still have it, but I find the winged mitten gets a better response.

I did stop posting when the readership and commentership exploded. It just got to be too much.

really got good this year. Made huge improvements in his ability to find a hole and hit it hard. I'm already looking forward to seeing him on the field next fall.
(He pulled away for a touchdown on that run.)

what you'd do with the concept, because I know it'd be astounding. But I know that's not going to happen.

|2 years 45 weeks ago||Forgetting to take pictures of important sports moments?||
Been there, done that. Not for Michigan sports -- I'm not cool enough to photograph M events -- but yeah, it's hard to stop being a sports fan. I've gotten a little bit better about it over the past few years, but not THAT much better.
|2 years 47 weeks ago||Photographically speaking,||
there are nice photos in the set, but the sheer quantity overwhelms the quality. Might be worth cutting it down to a smaller set of the best of the best photos next time. Maybe a third of the photos you posted? No more than half, for sure. Less duplication would make the photo set better: only a couple pregame photos of him looking intimidating, rather than the numerous such photos. They get repetitive.
I don't know how to convey a pleasant, positive tone when writing things like that on the internet. I always feel like I'm being a jerk when I post suggestions like that. I'm really truly trying to be helpful, and since photography is what I do for a living, that's pretty much the only place I have a chance of being helpful.
|2 years 47 weeks ago||Yeah,||
I was shooting alongside the annarbor.com photog, and she was complaining about the light. Like I said, it wasn't great, but relative to most high schools in the A2 area (and/or schools in the SEC, the conference I have the most experience with), it's pretty decent. Huron is okay, Pioneer is awful, Dexter is awful, Chelsea is okay. Adrian is lousy, Bedford isn't much better, Monroe is okay. The best high school football lighting you're going to get right now in the SEC is at Saline and Tecumseh, and that's because they built new stadiums not too long ago and put some good money into good banks of lights. (My bet is Skyline has lighting comparable to those stadiums -- I'll find out next week.) Those are the area schools that might be better than EMU.
I don't get much into the Detroit suburbs to cover football, so I can't speak for those. But in my experience, unless it's a newer stadium (or unless the school has dumped money into new lights), the lighting is likely to be worse than it is at EMU.
And you have to remember something with pros like the Freep guy: they spend a lot of time shooting at bigger, better venues than high school fields or the EMU stadium. Their frame of reference is a little different. They shoot places that feature regularly on tv and thus have a certain level of lighting. I'm not inclined to complain about EMU's lights simply because my frame of reference is crappy high school lights (I'm looking at you, Pioneer), and relative to that, EMU was just fine. Not great, but fine.
For reference, here's what I got from Friday's 8pm game at EMU:

but compared to most high school fields it was great. If you're shooting more games this year, get ready for some meh lighting.
|2 years 49 weeks ago||In fairness,||
it's been a while since anyone has heard him calling an SEC game on CBS. Once the season starts we'll all remember how much we dislike Gary Danielson.
|2 years 51 weeks ago||They almost got it right:||
they should build a new seating area behind the scoreboard and put the opposing fans there.
|3 years 1 week ago||FWIW,||
I concur. This feels more like an effort to be offended than an actual offense.

Did the MGoBoardofDirectors approve this vacation time? I don't remember seeing this on the MGoBoardMeeting minutes.
