I've been an Ohio resident for most of my life. The football tradition in this state is no joke. I don't think anywhere else is close. Football is inside us from a young age. I played the best HS football in the state, against the best competition. I think people here are a different breed than most places from fans, to the athletes, to the general mindset of its people. Growing up in that environment has an effect on you. There's a certain pride.

I think you saw similar characteristics of Ohio bred football people in Charles Woodson. You saw it in Bo Schembechler. You saw it in Jim Harbaugh. The list goes on. Those guys just had this looseness and a confidence that set them apart. I didn't see a weak arrogance in those guys like I have in others. It's as if all these greats were saved from the dark side by going to Michigan, and had they ended up in the Columbus death star, Michigan wouldn't be what they are today. Their contributions coupled with all that Michigan was and had to offer allowed for some magical things to happen.

I fundamentally believe that Michigan molds better young men than Ohio ever has. So, as we go forth, I am looking forward to the continued tradition of great young Ohio prospects see the light, and commiting to Michigan.

Michigan should beat Michigan State and not brag about it, that would be the nail in Dantonio's coffin. He's not worth any attention from Michigan. He can sit up in his room all day obsessing over UofM, while Michigan is focused on winning every game.
