TomVH: One More Visitor for the BBQ
I spoke with 2013 ATH Dymonte Thomas tonight and he told me that his father is now able to go to the BBQ at Michigan on Sunday so they will be attending.
Dymonte told me that Michigan is number one for him, and he also happens to be Bri'onte Dunn's cousin.
Tom, I see you are at it all night tonight. Stay the course and keep it coming.
I wanted to post this in the comments because it's separate from the OP, but I do think there's potential for this weekend to get interesting. By separate I mean I'm not implying anything just about Dymonte.
So much peace of mind its ridiculous.
There needs to be a "Schwing!" tag.
Here is the ultimate weekend:
Dunn, Pipkins, O'Brien, Wormley, & Madaris. Plus add in Dymonte and Shallman for '13. Rich Rod started a great thing with the BHBBQ.
Don't forget Elmer for '13 also! I have a feeling that his commitment will stick.
1) Will? Since when did he commit?
2) Elmer, unlike the others mentioned, does not have Michigan #1 to my knowledge. I believe MSU leads and we're right behind them with ND.
Wishful thinking at this point.
Cryptic Tom strikes again
For a second I thought it was a double post
TomVH you're such a tease! :P
TomVH : interesting : Sam Webb : gut feeling?
than waking up to a cryptic TomVH post. Thank you Tom. Also, I think this is worthy of its own thread. Anyone?
My seat belt is firmly buckled and I'm wearing a crash helmet just in case.
Bring it on.
I like just before midnight news.
it's just before 9pm news.
Great news Tom, would Michigan have him play safety? Can't see him, Bri'onte, and Wyatt playing RB and going blue, can they?
He has the most upside at safety. He has the chance to be a very good RB, but an elite safety.
The thought of Thomas and Wilson roaming the secondary is putting a smile on my face. It's been so long since we had two really good safeties. The best combos I can recall are Darden/Curtis and Welborne/Murray.
No but seriously. This is cool. Is he still planning to decide after the season? I read that somewhere...from you, perhaps?
funny that a 2013 kid is trying to convince a 2012 kid.
And awesome! Maybe him being so high on Michigan and him being there together with his cousin will help his cousin make his choice.
Since they both play the RB is that good or bad for landing Dunn? Do they want to compete against each other for PT?
We're recruiting Dymonte to play safety, so there wont be a conflict. I wouldn't doubt if Dymonte ends up playing two ways. This is huge for us and Dunn, the apparently light sanctions will make it harder for us to sway him but I still feel good about our chances.
"you wouldn't doubt if dymonte ends up playing two ways."
not to squash the optimism here because he looks like a great talent but there's regular college footballers and theres sir charles woodson...
damn thats awesome.
I am not too familiar with the 2013 class, but would I be in the correct ballpark by saying Morris top 25, Thomas 50-100 and Elmer 50-100?
Way too early to talk overall rankings. Thomas will be one of the top players in Ohio in 2013 though.
Shane Morris has been to a ton of camps and out performed top kids in the 2012 class. If he doesn't improve at all he is a top 150 type kid. Beyond that it's just too early, you are talking about kids who probably have played one year on varsity. Greg Brown was the next Charles Woodson when he was a soph, Marvin Robinson was Ronnie Lott.
Ricardo Miller was a sure 5 star, the next Braylon. I still have high hopes for him (not sure if they're reasonable or not), but haven't heard anything particularly promising about him since his junior year of HS.
Go take a look at the roster and look at the TE's. He just doesn't belong there. Huge differences between him and the others when it comes to size. He's got the frame of a receiver. I have high hopes for the kid if they move him back to where he belongs.
I also heard his speed was an issue at receiver.
Well the speed issue could possibly be the reason he was picked to move to TE to help with depth.
being more like in H-back role when his time comes.
Miller is now up over 230 lbs.
Did not know that. I checked the other day and he was listed at 215. I withdraw my previous statements.
will be a fine tight end. I cant embed but take a look at his block that springs Mike Cox' long TD in the spring game
Scroll to the 3:05 mark and watch him stand up Jake Ryan from the Hback/Fback position
I hope Ricardo is the 2nd coming of Tim Massaquoi. Tim was a tweener WR/TE coming out of HS (maybe 220ish lbs), bulked up to 245-250, and was a nice receiving threat for us as a TE. I still think Ricardo can make a significant contribution offensively in future years.
chicka whaaaa?
I think of Final Fantasy monsters :/
Damn you! for making me feel like a nerd!
neeevermind. nothing to see here.
I was a bit worried when that Hill guy committed to TN.
Why were you worried? I felt like it was Dunn or none situation for us since Garmon dropped us. If things don't go our way with Dunn, the UNC situation can help us get back in it with Garmon. Also the coaches were impressed with Juwan Lewis from Muskegon. He will probably not get an offer until the coaches see how he does his senior year. There are other options available and the coaches are recruiting incase things don't work out.
Too many other needs including 2 WR's, 2 DT's, 1 DE (wormley) and 1 OL. That finishes the class right there. Unless Dunn decides to make the switch, which I doubt, we need to use our schollies elsewhere.
This is tremendous news. Thanks for the update, Tom.
Like others have said Michigan is recruiting him as a DB.
Does it matter? We're not recruiting him as an RB.
