the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

Hoke did not recruit these seniors which is a testament to the atmosphere they have created and his ability to get players to play not for him but for Michigan. |

I think Hoke is trying to assemble the greastest hail mary team of all time. Harris, Funchess, Butt, Dukes and Bunting going up for the ball and Shane Morris's arm, all they need is a little time to get down the field. |

This has to be one of the dumber players Michigan has ever had, gave up a free education at Michigan to pay to go to Ohio and ride the bench. Saved us a scholarship, which you can say freed one up for Northfleet, and that is a win. |

Spike only has 9 turnovers in 240 minutes, he's not Trey Burke but having a backup PG like Spike is a strength against pressing team. |

Snyder has Cole listed at 6'7 in his article, any chance he has grown or is that what I get for reading the Free Press? |

If those were his own thoughts I'd be impressed. Though wrong they are very creative and thoughtful in un-schooled ancient man kind of way. Sad they aren't even his thoughts, took it from some freak named Ted Holden. From the comments: http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2013/02/19/show-your-work-josecanseco/ |

They don't technically, but now the burden of proof falls on the school. I remember from the practice violations most of the time the charges stick. I think Michigan was able to successfully appeal one of the violations, speculation was that was in part because Michigan was so forthcoming with their own investigation. Going to war with the NCAA won't work. |

Looking at WAR wrong Lewan could change their record on the margins 2 wins without being worth 2 wins. |

Seriously they could use a home run threat in the backfield with Best probably being done. Would be a guy I'd take early 3rd or 4th round if he's there. |
| 18 weeks 4 days ago | One performance... |
His showing yesterday won't effect his draft status that much, because he wasn't a top ten (probably 20) pick to begin with. Good player but he has limitations, it was his team (particularly this year) his character and story that carried him to the top of heisman lists and mock drafts. But he was never going to be drafted that high. |

Pretty sure he's been fired. Still works at WDIV. |
| 18 weeks 5 days ago | Even if he stays at his |
Even if he stays at his listed height/weight 6-5 230, with his size and athletism he should be able to abuse small corners or safeties in single coverage. I fully expect a large leap in production from him regardless of position. |
| 19 weeks 4 days ago | Even without the blown |
Even without the blown assingment, blitzing corner should make the tackle in the backfield at about the same point even if Kwiatkowski takes Clowney instead. It's a tougher angle and you don't leave the best player on the field free to force the fumble, but as called that play wasn't going anywhere. |

Underrating SC, top defense in the SEC its not just Clowney. |
| 22 weeks 4 days ago | Sure, I was attempting to |
Sure, I was not attempting to knock the analysis. Maybe the kid from Grantland really thought he came up with a new way of looking at basketball when he says "We fail to explore the interactions between shot events and put-backs." I don't know who he is talking about when he says "we" but when Larry Brown talks about playing the game the "right way" this what he is talking about. People around the game of basketball intiutively understand this and coach it. I wish Kirk Goldsberry would acknowledge that in his article. I am sure plenty of teams already keep stats similar to his "new" stat. Analyzing Trey Burke with better metrics is great, completly worthy of a blog post and an example of how Ace has stepped the basketball coverage up here. Not in any way being critical of him. I'd like a stat that says how much a players effeciency is increased by being the designated free throw shooter at the end of games. I will call it the Lavell Blanchard. |
| 22 weeks 4 days ago | Really this should be called |
Really this should be called an Iverson pass. Was often argued during his career that where and how Iverson shot led second chances for the team explaining his teams success despite low shooting percentages from the focal point on offense. This is hardly a new concept. |
| 23 weeks 4 days ago | Illitch and the speculation |
Illitch and the speculation over the new stadium are a big reason why that area has not developed, almost impossible to build there and expect to make a profit with those land values. Look at how Corktown has developed since the Tigers left, neighborhood got stronger because the focus was on being a neighborhood not serving the stadium, and the price was right for smaller developers and businesses to come in and invest. Another example is how development was choked in Rivertown, an area that in the 80's and into the 90's had a vibrant nightlife district that got killed when speculators drove up the price of real estate for the rumored riverfront casinos.
Demand is up in the Downtown/Midtown areas but it's not enough. Detroit is a long way from any kind of tipping point because the tax rate is so high and services so low. For almost anything new in the city to get built anywhere it comes with massive subisidies. |
