Not a bad NHL matchup.

Stir the bcs pot up more and I hope James has a poor day
October 21st, 2010 at 9:19 PM ^
Unfortunately he is off to a fast start.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:35 PM ^
Now a little banged up...
October 21st, 2010 at 9:18 PM ^
Are these Adidas' new uniforms? I like everything about them (seem streamlined and clean) except for the size of the numbers. The numbers seem tiny to me.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:23 PM ^
You can barely see the numbers of the shoulder pads. I hope our jerseys don't have the numbers.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:11 PM ^
Sweet!
No names either. If the argument for no names on the back is that there are no individuals, it's all team, the lack of numbers exponentiates (!) that.
(No 'I' in team, no 'a', 'b', 'c' or any of their relatives in team, no number in team <except maybe the 1>).
And if we have lots of 5' 10"-ish dreadlocked-ninjas without names or numbers...OH MY!!
(pre-apologies to Brian Griese for having to call the 2012 Nat'l Championship Game, numberless/nameless Blue vs. the bound-to-lose Underdog).
Go Blue, Go Fast, Go Ball Security (and offensive line pre-snap discipline)!
October 21st, 2010 at 10:43 PM ^
I am talking about the numbers on the shoulder pads. How can we tell who is on the field if the players don't have names or number.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:55 PM ^
i like the new uniforms for the most part, but hate how the shoulder pads always end up sticking out due to the short/nonexistant sleeves. I'm hoping our away jerseys dont have any weird stripes like our current ones do.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:23 PM ^
Is this pace something we'll see more with a Michigan team with older/more experienced starters or is this just the way that oregon runs it and rich rod prefers to use it differently?
October 21st, 2010 at 9:37 PM ^
these 2 teams are just running it out of nostalgia tonight, sorta like a WWII re-enactment. Only here it's of the old RR-invented offenses of yore. But this would never work in the B10
October 21st, 2010 at 9:46 PM ^
You read that Lynn Henning article a few weeks weeks ago too. Cool.
We'll have to chat more in the future. The guy knows his stuff.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:25 PM ^
That's strange.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:29 PM ^
I'm usually not a fan of oregon's uniform variations, but I really like those helmets with the matte black finish.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:37 PM ^
I like these uniforms too...
October 21st, 2010 at 9:37 PM ^
Ditto. Not many schools have the matte helmets. I approve of them.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:42 PM ^
That is definitely a Satin finish, a bit more gloss than Eggshell.
Matte-black my ass.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:49 PM ^
Outside of the classic helmets (Michigan, Notre Dame, some other teams I'm forgetting), Oregon's flat black is my favorite in football today.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:00 PM ^
Like the helmets... but the jersey is another story...
October 21st, 2010 at 9:31 PM ^
Not that I really care who wins, but Rick Neuheisel man, you make some baffling play calls.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:36 PM ^
hope its not serious. i wanted him not to do well, but like that
October 21st, 2010 at 9:36 PM ^
it would be unfortunate if James got injured like Dixon did in 2007.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:41 PM ^
Very unfortunate. They were definitely about to be BCS Championship bound that year. Dixon has to be frustrated with his bad luck tearing up knees.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:38 PM ^
when I watch Oregon. Except they have all seniors and juniors starting besides 3 players (2 who are redshirt sophs) on both sides of the ball & we have better athletes than they do all over. This team is damn good and I think we are going to be better. Just my 2 cents.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:38 PM ^
UCLA is going to get stomped, their defense is okay, but the Ducks Offense makes every defense look silly and UCLA is HOPELESS on offense. I really have no idea what UCLA's AD was thinking letting them play Oregon in a nationally televised game.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:43 PM ^
This game will be within 14 points by the end of the game. UCLA is driving as we speak and they did the same on the first drive if it wasnt for an int
October 21st, 2010 at 10:01 PM ^
UCLA's offense cannot score. they can drive all day but they have serious troubles putting it in. oregon will just outpace them. period.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:34 PM ^
There, I fixed it for you.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:49 PM ^
UCLA can really only run and they are still moving the ball pretty easily... at least between the 20s.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:30 PM ^
"I really have no idea what UCLA's AD was thinking letting them play Oregon in a nationally televised game."
Are you serious? They are in the same freaking conference. They have to play.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:50 PM ^
I am indeed serious. I know they're in the same conference, but agreeing to play on a Thursday night when you're the only game in town is a different kettle of fish from playing a random Saturday game. I think UCLA's athletic director made a bad call by agreeing to this knowing the states of the two programs this year.

October 21st, 2010 at 9:43 PM ^
I can't watch the game on TV. Does the famed crowd in Oregon sound louder on TV than other stadiums?
October 21st, 2010 at 9:51 PM ^
Wait until Michigan's offense matures and gets really really impossible. Teams will be so easy to game plan for defensively. 60 minutes of keep away, scared to death to give us the ball.
We'll have plenty of experience on defense too. Exciting to think about.

I think Nike paid ESPN to have this game slightly fast forwarded. Quick
October 21st, 2010 at 10:16 PM ^
The pace is amazing, and is a weapon unto itself.
Want This Badly.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:01 PM ^
Dang Oregon's team makes me excited for the future. You don't even need a great defense to win big... just a competent one.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:02 PM ^
For those who are interested, Wings just beat Calgary 4-2. Franzen, Zetterberg, Lidstrom and Bertuzzi with goals.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:05 PM ^
i cant bring myself to cheer against oregon. i just figure that will be us in 4-5 years
but better
October 21st, 2010 at 10:21 PM ^
That's a lifetime away. That being said, here's a reason to cheer against them. Avery Walls appears to be high on both Michigan and Oregon, dislike away!!!!
October 21st, 2010 at 10:52 PM ^
4-5?! I'm thinking more like 2-3

what did bo's offenses in the early days average through the air?
October 21st, 2010 at 10:29 PM ^
...is a heavy run-based offense. It's basically a spread-you-out + downhill run game + play-action-pass offense. I'm shocked it's taken Tressel this long to try and put the Bucks in it since they have Pryor.
