| 12 weeks 3 days ago | Anyone on here saying the Pistons have a pg doesn't watch them |
Calderone doesn't play D and is 31. Even if he stays you have 2 seven footers who are under 22 and that doesn't equate to a long term commitment in the point guard department. None of the rest of Detroit's combo guards really knows or has shown the slightest ability to play the pg position. Trey is perfect for Detroit. Comparing Trey to Chris Paul etc is just silly. Even if he doesn't end up as good as Paul (which I'm not yet convinced he can't be) Burke can still be a solid NBA starting point. Eric snow lasted a long time in the league as a solid starter and he had no jumpshot. Anyone thinking Trey is a back up and that the pistons wouldn't be lucky to have them needs to reevaluate that assessment |
| 14 weeks 17 hours ago | They didn't show your highlights? |
I only had to endure beat down at the Breslin on BTN for a week and turn off Sportcenter for 24 hours. Shut up. |
| 14 weeks 3 days ago | I posted the same thing regarding inexperience |
In a thread yesterday. And all people kept saying was Kentucky, Kentucky, Kentucky. I have to be that guy and tell all those people they don't obviously know a damn thing about basketball and are sounding very ignorant right now in their sporting knowledge in general. This isn't a video game and we are not recruiting on Kentuckys level. Nobody in the history of college basketball has. What Kentucky did last year is unprecedented. And IMO it was also in a down year for top tier college basketball teams. Not to mention they had a 7 foot defensive freak of nature an anchoring their D. Davis was also surrounded by a class actually rated higher than the Fab 5. A class that followed another top class where a few players stayed from the previous year. Look at Kentucky this year? Why aren't they dominating? Why didn't they win it all 3 years ago? Michigan didnt bring in the fab 5, and the upperclassmen in the rotation (Morgan/Horford) besides Burke and THJ are guys that are not world beaters and never will be. What happened last night was an avalanche and 3 freshman who play major minutes responded like it. Get used to it. Very few freshman are going to be on Webber or Juwans or Jalens level. And they won 0 titles. Michigan is still in a state of transition to becoming elite and having mostly elite prospects on the roster. |
| 14 weeks 4 days ago | Kentucky and who else?... |
And look at Kentucky this year? In decades and decades of basketball it's only been done once. And that one time was with back to back recruiting classes that not only ranked number 1, but had one class that was higher ranked than even the Fab 5. Not ever good freshman class is going to have the caliber of players Kentucky had last year. Even they had trouble reloading that. |
| 14 weeks 4 days ago | There is a reason freshman don't win NCAA championships |
And this is why its sad Trey isn't coming back next year. All the youth is showing up with every single big game that we play as the conference grind wears on. This team will not be the same next year, and with Trey Burke to run the point and Walton backing him up we could do something really really special. I'm not contemplating doom and gloom, we are still very good, but this is not an elite team that can win it all. Elite teams do not get punched in the mouth this many games in a row. They have moments and then turn it on. Michigan is regressing, not progressing. |
| 15 weeks 2 days ago | I know 1 thing about this class |
It better have at least 2 blue chip wideouts. |
| 15 weeks 3 days ago | Though its highly likely that he will |
I think people are overestimating the possibilities after this season with Trey Burke. These kids have grown tight, and everyone is eligible to come back. Not being as desperate and more sure than ever that his dream is actually in his grasp, if they don't win it he may very well come back because of the opportunity. This isn't something just any player who is lottery/draft eligible has a chance to be a part of. If they all returned there is no doubt in my mind we are number 1 in the country next year and could possibly gash through the entire season. Burke also has to know how huge of a jump his game has made since last season and that guys like Stauskus, GR3 and especially McGary will be 10 fold better next year. Not to mention that the system he is in will be that much more polished. It has to be tempting. In the NBA he is just another face. In college basketball, especially on Michigan campus he is a little hero right now and its got to be a total blast. |
| 15 weeks 4 days ago | Gutty gutty win |
Ive seen a lot of people on the board in several threads commenting that Craft was fouled and we were lucky. That is total BS. Just because Dicky V annoyingly wants to annoint Aaron Craft the greatest defender in college basketbal and say he got fouled at the end doesn't mean that people have to follow that lead or buy into it so easily. Craft is a great defender, but he is also the champion of fouling and getting away with it. Trey was playing him legally and very similar to how Aaron plays him during the game so why should he get a foul call for something that doesn't get called on him on the other side of the ball. Burke is faster than him and he just shadowed him down the floor as Aaron was using his hand to try and create space. Timmy's block was legal and we shouldn't be bailing a player out just because he is pushing hard to the basket. His shot wasn't affected by Trey's D, Timmy just happened to already be there because Trey shadowed him all the way down the floor. Also, we wouldn't even have had this controversy had the officials did there job at halftime and waived of that 3.. |
| 15 weeks 5 days ago | Just an FYI |
As far as blowing people out, a stat that hasn't been talked about on here but I have been keeping track of - in every single game this year other than IU and OSU on the road Michigan has had a 14 or more point lead in the game at some point or another. Every single game. Though some teams have pulled it closer towards some of the endings it still does not negate the fact that in every game but those 2 we have been blowing teams doors off. Also take into account we had a chance after being down 21 at OSU to beat them when Trey went for the jugular with that 3 he took at the end that barely missed, and also tied up a game at IU in which IU did not miss a single shot for 7 tries to start the game. Many deep contested 3s. That will not be replicated. And I think too many people dismiss Jordan Morgans absence. And last but not least those losses were big time learning moments for a very young team. Nobody, and I mean nobody will wanna play Michigan in March. |
| 16 weeks 5 days ago | He should have been last year. |
What he did with that roster last year was top notch. For everyone that would credit the emergence of Trey, it was John Who put them in position to win. So this year they need to make amends. |
| 17 weeks 4 days ago | You can never have too many backs |
Maybe it won't just be Notre Dame. Signing day ain't here yet. I'd take all 3. Hey I can dream can't I? |
| 19 weeks 2 hours ago | Ass woopin or not |
They were there. |
| 19 weeks 3 hours ago | I understand your POV |
And some of it is rather convincing, but when you are a program that has been what we have been since the scandal and are finally digging your way back to being on an elite level exposure matters. Being number 1 puts you on the radar of everyone who watches basketball. Look at NDs football success in recruiting just from going undefeated and showing up in the BCS Championship game. Sure they recruit well but this is another step up and that exposure counts. |

Telling lies |
| 19 weeks 5 days ago | I am turned on |
Now will I actually get to see it? |
| 20 weeks 1 day ago | The New England Patriots are the best place for him |
Belichick will find out where he works. He'd play him everywhere. Danny Woodhead? He's a stud in that offense. Wherever Denard would shine they would surely find his calling. |
| 20 weeks 6 days ago | C'mon fellas |
Enough of the pessimistic view points on here. We have a very legit shot at this kid. Stop assuming we are always playing second fiddle. We are Michigan Fergodsakes |
| 22 weeks 6 days ago | Like I said its just a guess |
Between the tweets, interviews etc he just comes off that way. Maybe I'm way off. But that's how I perceive it from a guessing standpoint. |
| 22 weeks 6 days ago | Some frivolous conjecture |
I think this staff chilled out on chasing him because like a lot of blue chip players who have a very me first attitude it gets to a point where you start wasting energy and time into something that maybe isn't the right fit to begin with. I am not saying that Treadwell is a bad guy but he is 17 years old and all 17 year old kids are in need of molding. But when it starts looking like a guy is possibly going to disrupt team chemistry his attitude starts looking like its not worth the talent. It's one guy. I am also not saying that the coaches think Treadwell is some horrible person but that He had a lot of me first mentality hence the comment that the Michigan coaches work showing him a enough love. I think there comes a time when you have invested so much time into a particular person to show them how much you want them to be a part of your program and yet they still seem to want to look around while the rest of the team seems like damn near family already. I know what a lot of people are going to say, but what about all the rest of these players like Dawson And McQuay and green that are all and have been on the fence for a long time. True but You have to admit that they have all been very up front or classy about it or in Dawsons case had a very real 17 year old moment, but none of them have acted quite the way Treadwell has. Funny thing is if I were a kid like Treadwell that wanted to go to a major program that had a good school and was on the rise I think that Michigan would be easily in my top group if not the leader considering the depth chart. There are very few positions in football where you can come in and be THAT GUY Neatly like you can at positions like receiver. And you would think that Treadwell would see he could step on to the field next year and start. Just my two cents anyways |
| 23 weeks 6 days ago | Yes they have. |
But why help them? Especially when they are pulling it together. And ND year in and year out recruiting top 5 classes is a problem. We go head to head with them all the time. |
| 24 weeks 4 days ago | Until he is sub .500 |
So 2017-18ish He is 4-2. In 4 years he could easily be 5-5. And they'll be screaming for his head. Cuz sparty gonna spart. |
| 25 weeks 2 days ago | You know what |
I need another post. FUCK THEM. |
| 25 weeks 2 days ago | This is the problem with the OSU fanbase |
The article sickens me. Show a little humbleness and then at the end revert to winning is everything. No matter if its without integrity. If I grew up watching Bo kick Ohio States ass and then POOF it was all taken away from scandal and threw a dark cloud over the program in terms of moral integrity then I'd hate him. Because I'd never EVER have a conversation about anything we did ever again without CHEATER getting brought up. The fact that they homered that slimy bastard a year after he was caught and disgraced the program is insane. It fits them well. No matter what anyone says. If Michigan ever reaches the mountain top again and wins a national title in the future I will take great pride that they did it the right way. Who else can say that?? |
| 25 weeks 4 days ago | Bottom line is Woodson had an even bigger impact on the games |
That he played in. And this year is not a down year for candidates. Why? Because Johnny Football is hands down the winner. And he'd be a strong candidate or winner in any other Heisman race. Don't sleep. Sorry for double post. My phone hates me. |

You're full of shit. |
| 26 weeks 1 day ago | It was pathetic |
In incompetence at every level. Those kids deserved better than that. |
| 26 weeks 5 days ago | Maryland and Butler |
Aren't Michigan. There is a reason we just dropped a gazzilion dollars into facilities etc. mix that with our brand, start winning and BAM!! More winning!! |
| 26 weeks 5 days ago | Losing out on kids that are |
Losing out on kids that are in Ohio isn't a big deal. Winning them is. We can't get em all but I'm sure we will get enough. Get to a final 4 or better and they'll be knocking down our door. Good times to come fellas. Good times to come. |
| 27 weeks 3 days ago | Question |
Do you think playing Air Force early and now Northwestern will help shore up some issues that could help Michigan win at the shoe? (Base offense/ obviously not all the stuff they've been drawing up for this game all year) |
