You can joke all you want, but it is nice to hear that our projected starter is working hard to overcome the biggest complaint from his detractors - his size. It is nice to hear that he has such a good work ethic, and hopefully he will continue to develop nicely. Some have said that he would have been near a 5* if he was bigger. While he probably won't get much taller, he has been gaining weight. Hopefully he will be as good as advertised.

I did a LONG post about how mass, momentum and the resultant forces. It actually might reduce some injuries from when he's hit because the collision won't have as violent acceleration as when McGuffie got shitrocked, for example. Likely, it's the same reasons why QBs suffer proportionally more head injuries on fewer hits than RBs (McGuffie excepted obviously).

Mass will cut down on concussions. Mass alone is no where near as important for preventing injuries as conditioning, flexibility, and proper lifting with emphasis on core and stabilizer strength. Having large biceps, sadly, is not going to keep Sean Lee from lighting Tate's ass up.

I just so happen to have a copy of the actual summer workout that they do at Michigan. (You can have one to for $80 bucks) 3 Times a week they make time for prehab, which is rehab before injury to strengthen ligaments and tendons before you have a problem. So hopefully those types of injuries are already accounted for. As far as concussions go he just needs to play smart when running the ball and not see a Lamar Woodley type player running at him and try to take him on as we remember from the Rhode Scholar Drew Stanton. Also I am pretty sure that the extra muscle should help reduce the risk of someone ripping out his own leg and beating him with it. Just a guess on that last one.

I'm a high school coach and at clinics they have them for sale. It is a break down of the their 10 week summer program. Workout logs, exercise guides and nutition information. They do offer a smaller guide for around 15 dollars at the Strength and Conditioning Clinic as well. To be honest I have been suprised how forth coming everyone on the staff is to local coaches. I have emailed questions to the support staff there and they really have went the extra mile to explain and make sure we are performing everything correctly.

There were some good quotes in there, but the real question is: Who is faster Tate or Denard? I"M GOING WITH TATE!!!!

great news. I also found this part interesting: On recruiting quarterbacks but only being able to play one: "Keeping the quarterback happy is a tricky thing, because you can only play one at a time. But we have a rule, if we have two or three guys we're able to win with, we're going to play them all. We were able to do that in the past with success at other stops, and guys were able to hang around and do well who bought into the system." Looks like Denard may be getting some snaps. Not exactly sure how much he means it or to what extent he would play two QB's but if Denard can help this team win I am excited to see him do it.
