I was hoping

we would finally get a glimpse of the elusive "Taco Pants"

35% on the QB play

Incredibly average and inconsistent offensive line effects both the run and the pass game.  Inconsistent running back play both when they have the ball in their hand but I think even more in their pass protection - it has been well below average.  The young receivers do not run crisp routes and do not get separation.  The QB is consistently running for their life and after being hit everytime you drop back to pass you tend to watch the pass rush and not go through your progressions...........Definitely not all on the QB

naughty

very naughty........got her number by chance?

Totally agree

love that the program is clean, love how players go from relative obscurity to first round draft picks, love how they peak at tournament time......just don't love the gray hair and ulcers I get along the way.....

We have

a cat living with us right now - it belongs to my son - he named it "Kitten" also

Give Jimmy

another couple of years....... he will be knocking on the door of #1

Obviously

he is both!

I remember

Daffy Wallrich calling the Michigan vs Chicago U game in 1919 saying......Gee Willakers that was a crazy finish.......Can't help but wonder what he would say if he saw tonights game.

He

sucks

I live and coach

high school football in Oregon - just completed my 25th season.......just saying.  Have been following Al Borges since his days at Portland State when he coached Neil Lomax under coach Pokey Allen and the run and shoot.  I have always felt he is a very good football mind - love the complexities and subtleties of his offense and his sets.  I do get frustrated by all the bashing of him as it is generally people who are going from emotion and not from an understanding that "player execution" is often the problem.

I am not a doctor either

but I can spell it - Denard will play well and conservatively......Defense wins it

Who was

that masked man?

He is right!

As a coach myself - the internet has made my job more difficult - even in high school.  We now get trash talking on blogs, Facebook etc.  Kids and fans can even make comments to articles from the local newspaper which is online.  Players can even and will tear down their own teammates.  ALL THIS EVER DOES is destroy team unity.

This blog and other locations ripping on a young man can only destroy his confidence and create strife with the team.  We need to be careful what we say.  I will throw out the phrase:  Walk a mile in his shoes -

Your father

must be very disappointed in your spelling and grammar - not to mention your editing skills

I live and coach

high school football in Oregon.  While the team I coach for has not played against his high school team or him specifically we have played against common opponents and viewed game film while preparing for opponents.  He plays for "Aloha" pronounced (uh - low - uh, not like the Hawaiian word for hello / goodbye) which plays at the highest level in the state of Oregon.

He is the real deal, his team won the state title when he was a sophomore.  He missed last season due to an injury and they are back again this year for a title.  They do not have much of a defense this year and probably will not win it.  He also won the state title in the 100 and 200 at the state track meet as a sophomore.  He is headed to the University of Oregon next year.

Was rooting for Canada

Just want soccer to fail in the U.S.  Have too many friends who are obnoxious with regard to soccer.  Also Canada got robbed on the penalty kick.....very sad

No

I agree with the positive

coaching aspect.  I am a high school football coach.  Next week I start my 26th year of coaching doubles.  In that time I have seen many coaches come and go with different styles.  The best head coach we had never yelled - he taught and he encouraged.  He led by example and built relationships.  Every kid on the team would run through a wall for him.  They knew he was on their side.  It was so refreshing compared to the high school coaches I played for and the coaches I started out coaching for.

I have been a high school

football coach for 26 years now in the state of Oregon.  Started out coaching freshman football, moved up to jv assistant coach as the defensive coordinator.  Became the head jv coach and called the offense.  Finally became a varsity assistant as the defensive line coach plus the running backs coach plus the special teams coach.  I am finally back to head freshman coach.  Only positions I have never coached are wide receivers and linebackers.  It is funny that I finally view head freshman coach as the best job in the program.  Get to be in charge but not a lot of film breakdown or meetings etc.

You are right

it cannot be done!  See Michigan softball.  Oh by the way, we have snow on the ground here right now

Honestly - sounds like sour grapes

I live in Oregon - it rains A LOT.  Oregon state and now recently University of Oregon also have to play all of their non league games in California and Arizona.  Half of their conference is in the south.  For years the two Oregon schools whined that it isn't fair - Oregon even dropped baseball because it wasn't fair.  Both schools are now consistently ranked in the top 25 nationally because they went and got top coaches and accepted the challenge.....oh yeah and Oregon state won two national titles a few years back.  Recruit players, develop them and get rewarded.....look at Michigan softball.  Here in Oregon we also have two Ncaa div. 3 baseball teams who have won national championships within the last dozen years or so plus a softball team (University of Washington - D1 and Linfield D3)

IT CAN BE DONE

I am backing away

from the ledge.....thanks

Interesting

I live in Oregon and listen to the local sports talk radio shows whenever I can.  There is never ever any talk of Oregon sanctions and it is not as if the talk show jocks get along with coach Kelly - they think he is kind of an ass- so I do not believe there to be any cover up on their part.  All we ever hear is how wonderful life is if you are a Duck or duck fan.

Chip Kelly is obviously successful and he is single with zero life outside of football.  That kind of work-aholic is exactly what you have to be anymore.  If it is true that he goes to the NFL then the whole state of Oregon might be on suicide watch.....

Beer - check

snack - check, kids sedated - check, start the game

Thank you

for the reminder - I am at work and forgot to set my DVR, now however, thanks to you it is being recorded and I am set - GO BLUE!

with the longhorn

network - Texas should go independent.

Just be careful

I have been a high school football coach for 25 years now.  Fans do not always know the whole story.  Kids can have injuries....tweeked ankle, sore shoulder, sore hamstring etc. that keep them from performing at their highest level.  It is a long season and a player should not be  judged on one game alone.  You never know what other circumstances came into play.  There have not been many games that I have coached where our entire roster of kids were healthy and played at their highest level.

I am not saying that I know anything about T Rich and his performance, but keep that in mind

Congrats Tim

I feel like you are the best friend I never met - keep up the good work!

Oh yea

forgot to say...thanks TomVH - I always enjoy your stuff.

Michigan

obviously wants to win the line of scrimmage!  Garnett, Magnuson, Poggi, Dillard.......just keep it coming.

I must admit

that I have no idea what you are talking about - but more importantly I have no idea what I am talking about - with that said, Coach Hoke has an evil master plan to finish out the class with some absolute studs!

The lines don't look

too bad from here..........of course I am currently in Oregon.  Somebody give Denard a big hug for me.

Sparty is

as Sparty does

I live in Portland

and the local sports talk radio show was talking about the NBA trades that have recently occurred.  They talked a fair bit about the Detroit Pistons, saying that Dumars is extremely frustrated as the ownership change and previous owner (I have no idea- as I do not follow the Pistons) prevented him and the team from making any moves.  Detroit was apparently extremely active in trade talks but could not follow through on any of them.  That is a view from another GM in the league.

Kawabunga dude

So that kid

who got drafted out of Oklahoma last year #1 and just got voted rookie of the year is unacceptable?  Oh and that other guy the Lions drafted out of Georgia?  He sucks too?  No way would we ever want another Tom Brady........thanks for clearing that up for me

Love it

Can you guess

which city in Ontario I am from?.................that is correct - Orillia!  Currently residing in Oregon

Me love

me love me some Denard!

Al Borges

I remember Borges from way back in his Portland St. days in Oregon.  His offenses scored a lot of points and they played for a national championship or two.  The head coach at the time was Pokey Allen  They then headed off to Boise St. if I remember correctly and played for and won a national championship there too.  He ran the "run and shoot" and it was wide open.  His offense can accommodate any type of talent.

Miami of Ohio

coaching at and playing for are very different........

Bo Pellini

was a Suckeye- so I say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I love

adding a third

former Boise coach not doing so well - Dirk Koetter
