It's a fan page. He has a private page for friends.
Basically, he knows that random strangers are going to be looking at this page, and posts these things anyway, with no expectation of privacy. So the question isn't why fans are looking at his page, it's why he feels the need to say such things in what he knows is a public forum.

just very tired of reading and hearing negative things regarding Michigan's football team. There is a controversy at both the professional and college level with regard to athletes posting things on such networking sites, and I believe that contoversy will now also be turned to Michigan, along with practice time, athletic director assaults, and whatever else can possibly be uncovered that will reflect negatively on Michigan. My post was ill-conceived and should not have been written, FWIW, just a gut reaction to what will surely be the next story that is used to disparage Michigan.
