Just a hunch

But I would venture to say that for these guys missing 5 games will drive them to declare for the draft. I know your plethora of 4-5 star guys in the waiting are just going to continue the dominance (even though Herron was by FAR your best RB), and losing you start receivers in Sanzenbacher and Posey is no big deal but you're in for a rude awakening. This more or less decimates the offense to go along with a defense losing quite a bit. I appreciate your optimism and confidence in your team but I think you'll see what I mean in 2011.

It's not that they're going

It's not that they're going to lose that irritates me, it's the fact they cannot do ANYTHING today. A loss I can live with, a blowout.....eh not so much.

Mustaches

.....are creepy and therefore Tiller & Hope both weirded me out.

It's kinda funny

That before this past weekend nobody was even thinking about Arnett possibly being an option and after his decision tomorrow some will have a minor meltdown when he decides to go somewhere other than Michigan. I for one am hoping Michigan can pull past Clemson for Watkins services. Arnett has as much as talent as anyone but as Magnus eluded to I'd rather have a kid whose character gets talked about in a positive light as much as his skillset.

Dr.Phillips

So now none of them are coming this weekend?

Mouton

Correct it? Really? Cause it looks like every week you come out and make the same mistakes over and over and over......  This defense makes me cringe every time they step on the field. At this point managing one more win unless a small miracle happens looks like all that's in this teams future. Illinois has really come on and Wisconsin and OSU have been playing at a high level all year so here's to the Purdue game.

Yesterday's Game

Can be blamed on special teams who TWICE gave Iowa a short field in a critical time of the game with our fabulous kicker who can't keep the ball in bounds, the offense who again gave Iowa a short field with 2 interceptions and Smith who fumbled in the red zone. I was encouraged a little by the defense yesterday. A loss is a loss but penalties and execution killed us. When you outgain a team by almost 200 yards you shouldn't be playing from behind all game. Defense is still a long way from being good but at least the whole team fought til the end. GO BLUE!

Agreed

That too! My wife started doing it but flipping off the TV at the end which may have been almost equally annoying.

What I learned

1. Indiana fans suck! Real classy move cheering when Denard went down. Next year I hope we beat you by 4-5 td's in Ann Arbor.

2. I get severe anxiety watching Michigan's defense and tend to throw various objects around my house.

3. I heart Denard.

4. These games give me another excuse to drink more silver bullets on Saturday.

GO BLUE!

So at this point

Is Plan B Nealy? Not saying it's over with Hart by any means but I just don't hear too many names at RB other than him or Rawls. There's still work to be done on the academic side with Rawls so hoping some other players have caught their eye.

So what do you guys think

Dump Cleveland in my fantasy league as a WR or keep him?

Tate is like....

Drew Brees only with a much cooler name and more kick-ass website.

Agreed

Luck has looked great so far. He will be the best passing QB Notre Dame has seen so far this season. With those safeties that could spell trouble. Harrison Smith is athletic but Motta is out of position a lot.

Count me as a huge Lewan fan

Not only for his play and the fact that he's going to be a beast in his career but also because after the game he was just a great guy. We stayed to try and get some pics for our ongoing basement renovation and subsequent M Man Cave and he was just in a good mood which is hard to say since the locker room talk after the game couldn't have been pleasant. Gladly took a photo and autographed everything any kid brought to him.

Amen West Texas Blue

We just went up against what is widely considered the best WR and TE in all of college football and while Rudolph had a big game, albeit a HUGE chunk off one play, what did Floyd do? Nothing. Crist is a competent QB and that was probably the best receivers we'll face all year. Do they need to continue to improve, sure. We always do. But am I satisfied? Yes sir! Good post WTB. Go Blue!

Meh....

ND was going to put it to us last year too with the all-everything offense..............

This was great news.....

.....destroyed my defense this week in fantasy football!

Steele vs. Madison

Maybe it's just me but I thought the two RB's in that game - Brown and Green - were the best running backs I saw from the games I watched (Plant - Manatee being the other). Not to take anything away from Blakely but those two looked primed to get some PT next year wherever they end up.

The strategy for this year has to change

Where we were once thinking secondary recruiting was close to finished is definitely being reassessed. I know we already have Hollowell & Brown committed (both smaller CB's) but Michigan needs to land some impact players in this class. I really hope that Walls is blown away by his official but it would be nice to add someone like Showers too. Is Lyons going to be a S or CB at the college level? From the most recent updates we currently aren't in on many top flight CB's which can always change.

Question for Magnus, if you're reading. Do you think as the season gets rolling that Avery and Christian start seeing any meaningful reps or if they do will it be because the team is having serious issues in the secondary and are trying anything?

My Recommendation

Last year in our league I had Colin Kaepernick and he had really solid weeks with a lot of TD's. My other QB was Russel Wilson who proved to be a pretty good dual threat as well. They both accounted for a lot of TD's. A sleeper pick at WR may be Austin Pettis, watch for a big year out of him this year at Boise after a very solid one last year.

You heard wrong. Roh actually

You heard wrong. Roh actually shaved double lines in each brow ala Vanilla Ice.

Yeah I am with ya, a Shogun

Yeah I am with ya, a Shogun v. Rampage match-up would be fun to watch as they will both come and just bang.

Damn I missed that, thanks

Damn I missed that, thanks for the heads up. I thought Gomi was off for way too long.

Yeah I don't think Belcher

Yeah I don't think Belcher can beat Silva but I think he will get a shot in the near future. At this point who is really going to beat Silva at that weight? Guy is a phenomenal fighter but many more fights like his last couple and no one will want to watch anymore. What I'd love to see if UFC somehow sign Takanora Gomi and put him up against BJ Penn at 155 - now that would be a fight.

Perception is reality. Trent

Perception is reality. Trent thought he was better than maybe he actually was and RR thought he under performed and lacked a few things which maybe he did. At the end of the day I really don't care what he says at this point because someone with character and desire is going to make the best out of a situation. If your boss changes at work do you go sulk in a corner and not do your job to the best of your ability? Maybe he should've taken some notes from BG who came to play 110% every game of every year regardless of the coach. Some players come to play football for the sport it is and some are primadonnas.

For some reason when I

For some reason when I glanced at your response I thought it said "I thought this was about if Tiger can score" and I thought to myself - what kind of stupid question is that. Guy is the definition of a panty dropper.

They were both there

As was M-Rob, they were sitting with all the recruits. Paskorz is a big kid, looks like he has been putting on some weight for sure.

I'm shocked it smeared

Whenever I colored in my friends face with a Sharpie in college it wouldn't even come off with paint thinner. I thought a baseball would hold up better than skin.

I'll co-sign that. Demps was

I'll co-sign that. Demps was a track mega-star in HS and apparently is only getting better. Dude is fast! Not saying Denard isn't but he wouldn't beat Demps.

Good for you. I debated hard

Good for you. I debated hard on it myself last year, was thinking of applying for officer school with the Air Force. In the end my wife was just too against it. I definitely applaud you.

He said

that we all were watching Mallet's nuts....I think.

Great show thus far

HBO looks like they're getting in their groove of some good series again. I am always into anything to do with WWI and WWII so this was an easy sell to me. The previews of Boardwalk Empire, coming this fall, also look good. If it weren't for their series I would've dumped HBO a long time ago. Who needs their movies when you have Netflix. I still miss The Wire though.

Weis didn't because he has a

Weis didn't because he had a God complex and thought both he and his team were better than they were. I mean after all he did have a QB that was going to win 3 Heisman's right? If I were ND's coaching staff I would be more worried about doing enough on the field to secure commits or gain interest rather than negative recruit. A decade and a half of being mediocrity is going to bite you in the ass sometime.

He's just a different kind of

He's just a different kind of UM fan - a realist. He doesn't live in the fairy tale world where everything that happens in our athletics causes him to meltdown and contemplate suicide. There was nothing wrong with what he said and if you read it right then A) if we won it was a bonus and good for us but B) if we lost well then it wasn't going to be a surprise. But let me guess you're the fan that was singing Beilein's praises last year when we made the tourney but is now calling for his head cause we lose on a buzzer beater to a potential #1 seed in the tournament? Get a grip man.

Ummm.....o.k. Well while you

Ummm.....o.k. Well while you were imagining that I was imagining Alyssa Milano (in her Who's The Boss days), ahhh to be 12 again.

Apparently Cash 4 Gold wasn't

Apparently Cash 4 Gold wasn't paying what he was looking for.

White killed it for sure. The

White killed it for sure. The rest of the field has some catching up to do if they want to beat him. At this point he has set himself apart from every other rider. He's ridiculous on a skateboard too. Maybe we should recruit him for the slot.

Yeah but I think something

Yeah but I think something like 8 of them are on the ESPNU 150 list as of right now. That's pretty insane.

I was going to but this damn

I was going to but this damn economy made it unaffordable so I opted for the New Jack City experiece at Hotel Yorba off of I75 and Clark.

Well my three in this exact

Well my three in this exact order would be:

1.) Tom Brady - my favorite football player ever.
2.) Herschel Walker - cause I'm greedy and it's like getting to chat with 3-4 players in one.
3.) Natas Kaupas - yes I skated, yes I still do, and he was the man when I was kid.

Well at least his urine

Well at least his urine doesn't feel like fire or we would have a serious problem on our hands.

I belive it may have been

I belive it may have been Marlon Wayans JGB. Just a hunch. I watch a lot of CSI so I am quasi-certified to make that kind of judgment call.

Detroit News

Should run a story on the front page on how to beat a dead horse.

Best: Jake Long
- aside from

Best: Jake Long
- aside from being dominant he was also a model of consistency and durability over his career.

Most Disappointing: Jim Presley
- ranked the #2 OLB in the nation and ahead of names you may have heard of like Jon Beason and Paul Poluszny.

It's simple

Because Robinson is NOT a better receiver than Roundtree, Odoms, or hell even Gallon in the slot. He is NOT an outside receiver nor would he be a better option than Hemingway, Stonum, or Stokes. He is NOT a more natural runner or better RB than Smith, Touissant, or Shaw. Finally - Tate is the more advanced QB of the two at this point. Robinson is a guy with tremendous speed who has a high ceiling as an athlete but based on the evidence so far I'm not so sure I understand why everyone has the "get him the ball at all costs" mentality. He has the ability to be exciting. Key word - ability. I think everyone saw that first busted play against WMU and thought that would be the norm but really how many more times did that happen over the season? Not as many times as he fumbled or threw an INT.

Just saying

It would be a lot easier to get to Michigan for a visit then to USC. You can drive to one and have to fly to the other. I still don't have much hope in this happening but we really have nothing to lose either.

Would telling you that you're

Would telling you that you're my favorite Canadian comfort you at all Clarkie?

But damn to they turn out

But damn to they turn out some elite prospects in curling and 5-pin bowling, eh.
