"Chasing the standard?"
Harry played seeker, not chaser. I mean, if he's a chaser, where's the quaffle? |

Says the maker of the vid is controlling that. Any chance you change it? |
| 45 weeks 38 min ago | Great post, but don't forget about Denard |
You said that Jim Harbaugh was the most recent M QB to be an All American, but Denard was an All American by the Football Writers Association of America at the end of 2010. You could say that he doesn't count because they only listed him as a "back," but he was an M QB All American. |

Did anyone else here the crowd chanting it early in the match?
Looks like the Big House isn't alone. |
| 1 year 13 weeks ago | I really like that Brady Hoke |
I really like that Brady Hoke started calling OSU "Ohio" - I initially saw it as an interesting quirk and a way to stir up the rivalty. Although I was pretty indifferent about everyone using Ohio instead of Ohio State, I think it's starting to get out of hand. I know that this article is about M, OSU, and PSU, but was I the only one who reread the first sentence after the block quote because it said Ohio instead of Ohio State? This wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that there really is a school called Ohio, especially when we're talking about a sport where they might actually have a solid program. (Turns out they don't.) I don't have enough points to start a thread anymore, but I think "Ohio" thing is starting to jump the shark when we use it every time we refer to OSU - particularly in a news article and not an opinion piece. It's starting to remind me of the way every RCMB poster will use scUM instead of just UM. Am I alone on this? And this isn't meant as a knock on the OP, but it was a bit confusing. |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | Another cool story (bro) |
My friends and I were at Harry Buffalo before the game and ran into John Merrill's mom. Didn't want to make it weird and ask why he was suspended, but she was very cool..and actually pretty good looking. Seemed like she was enjoying herself and just volunteered the fact that she was his mom when she saw all of us in Michigan gear.
Not worthy of a thread, but wanted to throw it out there. |

| 1 year 23 weeks ago | Hey Ace - my take |
This is quite obviously amazing and the effort is certainly appreciated, so the following questions are more of a Devil's Advocate-like exercise. I don't know what your schedule or the schedules of other MGoReaders is like, but I wonder if it's worth it to do a full, play by play, UFR considering how many basketball games there are and the difference between basketball and football games' style of play. I'm curious as to what your process is in while making this. Do you have to replay each possession? How many times? Does it get really tedious? (Obvious caveats apply for this being the first time.) Would we get 90% of the information and jist with you doing much less work if you were to break the game up into 8 5-minute segments and give your impressions? There could still be links to certain plays and you could still grade the players (and add some info that others have mentioned), but I imagine it's pretty time consuming to explain every single play in detail. At the very least, this type of UFR could be stop-gap until you do more research on Beilein's offense since without more context you might not be able to explain what's really happening (and perhaps what's supposed to happen, making the player grades more valuable). Thoughts from Ace and others? |
| 1 year 26 weeks ago | One nit to be picked |
In some parts of the diary you have the explanation before the picture, in others you have the explanation after the picture. It's admittedly a nitpick, but is it possible to stay with one? or maybe use a colon or something? Otherwise, it's excellent. Thanks for the insights. |

I found a great van pic for your next Creeper Van Originals:

I'm loving the Mid-Week Metrics posts, but one thought regarding the best and worst plays: Would it be possible to note the play number of each instead of (or in addition to) just ranking them 1 2 3? I'm pretty sure I can find them in the chart, but it's still tought to tell since we don't know what play number they were. It would also be interesting to how the Win Percentage responds to the team's play calling after important plays. |

used to hold the record for most football games hosted by a stadium. It took until 2003 for the record to be broken.
Just sayin |

I could definitely picture someone driving a creeper van with the windows down and that music playing. He's probably got a mustache too. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | I understand what you're saying |
It might not be in the best taste, but I'm not sure the analogy totally works since one instance is a famine and one is a genocide (passive vs. active). Since it's on a ND board, it could be one of those "we can say it bc it's us" things.
I think we can all agree that comparing Denard to "an occupying imperial power," at least on the football field, is apt sentiment. |

Denard Robinson – Destroying More Irish Lives than the Potato Famine |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | I walked past him after the game |
He was by the entrance to the tunnel as the players were coming out. I didn't want to bother him, but I overheard him say that he's gained some weight (said it with a smile on his face). Hopefully that means he's doing well. Also, Marvin Robinson's mom wears a #3 jersey with the name "Marvin's Mom." I thought that was awesome. |

You must be on a whole new level of swearing (NSFW audio) |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | I concur |
Though I do like having a piece of fluff to get things started if it's really interesting. The Darboh story is a good example. Some of the other fluff seems like it could be an Etc. type thing, or a "Quickly," to borrow from Dr. Saturday. |

I prefer Ace's work, since the smile reminds me more of Brick's innocence:

"based on his high school performance"
Is there any other performance on which we should be basing our opinions? |
| 2 years 32 weeks ago | I wouldn't do it |
It's going to be a terrible, terrible environment. The 3 and 5 year old aren't going to be able to see anything because everyone is standing. Everyone is going to be completely hammered and falling all over the place.
I will gladly buy one of those tickets. Seriously, sell it to me. |
| 2 years 33 weeks ago | Valuable Info |
I think you should (assuming you have the time) post updates in Diary form every week. I know that many of us would find it interesting. It would also give us a place to send people who think that the standard redzone efficiency data makes sense. Hopefully converting them to the side of reason.
Thanks, and keep up the good work! |
| 2 years 34 weeks ago | Of course you would know that... |
You divers are a tight knit bunch. |

Just wanted to chime in (along with everyone else) and let you know that these wallpapers are both clever and extremely well done. A Brit might classify them as "cheeky." Please keep up the good work. |

I legitimately saw that from section 23 row 39 seat 7. These refs were abysmal. I actually had a ND fan text me a pic he took of his tv of a "hold" during Denard's long TD run. I promptly sent him Dr. Saturday's post of ND's DeSean Jackson impression. |
