15 weeks 5 days ago	My only beef with the	My only beef with the penalties and fines for head to head hits is that they are only called on the defensive players.  A ball carrier leading with his head into contact should be penalized as well.  If you dont, it simply encourages the ball carrier to spear everyone they come in contact with...might get an extra 15 if you can hit the tacklers head.

15 weeks 6 days ago	Adults	Yes...football involves contact and safety gear to minimize its impact--just like driving a car, riding a bike, or virtually any other activity.  There are risk/benefit analyses made by adults every day as to what activities to carry out and which are too dangerous.  When children play football, the risks are weighed by their parents.  When adults play football they weigh those risks for themselves.  Noone, including the POTUS, needs to weigh in on this personal decision for those who choose to participate.  No competent person would ever think that two people running into eachother with a full head of steam is not dangerous.
18 weeks 1 day ago	Parking/Safety	Coming from the north, come down SR315, get off at Ackerman Road, go left, there is a huge parking lot immediately on your right.  Just a short walk south of that lot and you are at the Schottenstein Center.  It is an enormous lot, its where they put most of the RVs for the football games. As far as UM attire...I stroll around campus year 'round always wearing my UM gear and other than an occasional comment, I would not expect too many problems.  Its the idiots at the football games that come to campus just to start crap that are the problems....they typically dont come all the way out to the Schottenstein Center.  There arent any bars too close to it.

I just keep telling my confident coworkers:  Top rated passer in the Big Ten; 11th ranked pass defense in the big ten; Rediculous RB DR now with room to run because of DG's arm; No punts last week; You gave up how many points to the Hosers?, NW mobile quarterback was helped off the field three times in the Big House; urban doesnt have Mattison to protect him; urban has to wear long sleeves now, and forever, to cover his 'I luv Mattison' tattoo; 2 of the last 3 times you've come into The Game undefeated...you've lost...badly.  And there is the 70% chance that urban will retire after the loss to spend more time with his family that he abandoned to take a job with ESPN, or have crushing chest pain from a burrito again, or take a job with ESPN to again get away from his family that he apparently did not want to spend time with, or something else even more amusing.  There is a reason an undefeated team at home against a three loss team is only favored by 4...

44 weeks 6 days ago	It is funny you would say	It is funny you would say that.  I was raised a TUOOS fan and did in fact lose interest in their athletic program because of the embarrassment of being associated with the fan base as a whole.  My becoming a Michigan fan was in no small part because of the harassment I received for not being a TUOOS fan.  Story ensues: I had a 6th grade teacher, Ohio fan, who was aware of my departure from the ranks of the Ohio fandom.  As the game approached that fall, she would harass me in class, up to and including stopping class just to ridicule me for not being a TUOOS fan.  It irritated me to the point that I asked another teacher if she would assist me in a little mischief (Michigan Alum).  The Friday before the game she let us in the building and into the other teacher's room (supervised by her) a couple hours before class.  We proceeded to decorate her entire room in maize and blue streamers, posters, and chalk.  It was truly a work of art.  At this point I was not yet a Michigan fan but rather a disgruntled non-TUOOS fan.  The mayhem this act resulted in that day at school and the number of idiots that were pushed into blind rage was comical.  It was at that point I realized I could irritate nearly every ignorant person in central Ohio by being a Michigan fan.  Over time, my fandom for Michigan became sincere, now to the point of season tickets for a decade and true physical discomfort when we lose. If I had to estimate loyalty, I would estimate that 10% of Franklin County residents consider themselves Michigan fans.  I would also think that upwards of 20-30% are not TUOOS fans for one reason or another.  That being said, the grip the dark side has on the remainder is tight...often resulting in hypoxia of the brain.
44 weeks 6 days ago	I glad to hear you lived	I glad to hear you lived through your Livingston Avenue experience.  Not everyone can say that.  Livingston crosses the epicenter of violence in Columbus.  A close friend of the family is a Pastor at a church in that area and could certainly share some stories.
44 weeks 6 days ago	Cbus V Indy	I find the comparison to Indianapolis interesting.  I have been an Ohio resident for many years.  I am not overly familiar with Indianapolis, but aside from  NW Indiana near Chicago, my experience has always been traveling to/through Indiana is like a time warp to the past...right down to the decor of Wendy's.  I dont mean that to be critical, I have no issue with the Hoosier state. Columbus does lack professional sports presence, but that would be the case in Indianapolis as well if Indiana had the influence on it that TUOOS has in Columbus. As far as the Appalachia influence, if you sincerely think that you have not had much experience with Applachian culture nor spent much time in the area.  Columbus is overall a very liberal community (still amazes me that the only major paper, the Dispatch, has such a conservative slant) which is as non-Appalachia as you can get.  I will agree that if you go very far south or east of Columbus, you will find some areas/communities that very much have an Appalachian flavor.
45 weeks 1 day ago	Since a scholarship has	Since a scholarship has economic value....would it be a recruiting violation to offer someone else a scholarship to secure a committment from the person requesting the perk?  The economic benefit is not firsthand, but there is an economic gain realized for the requesting players committment by a socially close third party.

1 year 10 weeks ago	It just seems like it hurts	It just seems like it hurts ohio because Urban isnt smart enough to do his own talent evaluations and just waits for his rival schools to do it.  Urban has spent the last two weeks trying to track down contact information for a certain receiver high on Michigan's wish list:  Tacopants.  He's that smart....
