Love this guy! Kind of reminds me of myself during the RR & Hole years, however I never put a camera in front of my face for the whole world to see!

He had some good points, 1st year coach vs 7th year coach. To be honest I haven’t seen Nebraska’s D play with that much heart sink Bo was there. Four turnovers and you lose by a field goal. However on that flip side, it’s Minnesota, I think Minnesota will struggle to score on a lot of teams this year due to the QB and O-Lone.

Regarding how Minnesota looks in year 7 under Fleck...I believe Minnesota had a lot of turnover from last season through graduation. Minnesota will probably never be a program like Michigan (so happy I can place them in this category again), OSU, Alabama, Georgia, etc. They will not have 4 and 5 stars three deep at every position just waiting to get on the field. They will not have the best player from another power 5 program as a backup.

Unless you have a lot of guys returning who are experienced, you don't know for sure what you have in the first game of the season so they are often fairly ugly games, especially on offense. This is how it is for most teams in college football.

We'll know more about Minnesota after they play their cream puff games to rep things with their O-line. If the O-line struggles in those game, it will be a long season for them.

All-in-all, a very reasoned take.

I think Husker fans are generally a good bunch of folks, this guy included, and probably would be a fun thing to sit down and have a beer with the majority of them.

Same here, except the one asshole was me.  Let me explain.  I went with a buddy to a game at Lincoln when Nebraska was hosting MSU.  My buddy went to State.  I had no rooting interest, just went for the experience.  Nebraska fans were one of the nicest I ever encountered.  At some point my buddy goes to the bathroom.  A while later I spot him a ways down the aisle coming back to our seats.  He's the only one wearing green in a sea of red.  So naturally I start to heckle him.  Really letting him have it trying to get the crowd to join along: "You suck, MSU sucks, your mom sucks!  Sit down, asshole!  Boo!"  Not a peep from anyone.  The Nebraska fans who weren't aware we were buddies, and even some who were, were aghast--shocked and embarrassed that a visiting guest would be treated so poorly in their stadium.  Eventually, my buddy came back and handed me a drink he got for me.  Nice guy.

My brother and I went to the 1st game Nebraska played at the big house as a B1G member. Michigan won big. After the game my brother and I sat around with a group of Nebraska fans and drank beer until they kicked us off the golf course. Extremely nice and cordial group of individuals

Nebraska is still dangerous team.

Mostly dangerous to themselves.

But they also have a huge happy-mean DL named Huttmacher wearing a donut for a jersey number. He almost destroyed the Gopher QB's knee on one play.

I don't want any Cornshuckers making a hat out of Michigan's QB or RBs this year.

Both teams looked awful. If that's who Minnesota and Nebraska are going to be, it's really hard to find a competitive game in Michigan's schedule before week 10.

There most likely isn't a team in the West to "fear", but even the "they could be solid" B1G West teams aren't on Michigan's schedule this year (Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois).

My take on that game is was underwhelming on offense for both teams. If they keep doing run option plays for the NE QB, Sims, he won't last long. The MN offense is really missing Tanner Morgan at QB and Ibriham (Sp) at RB.

We'll see well IA, Wisc and IL will do. Cade will be the key for the Hawkeyes and can IL repeat what they did last season.

Born in Nebraska, grade school in Missouri, high school in Michigan, I STILL wonder where the Midwest is. Many folks in the East consider Michigan to be the Midwest, while many folks further west (in NE & MO & KS & SD) consider MI to be the East.

Anyway, wherever I am on the geographical spectrum, I know I've felt the same as Corn-Silk Head (thanks, Blue Balls Afire, above). Angry about a tough loss, I think ANYTHING any opposing fan says is snark.

Aggressive, passive-aggressive, agressive-passive, passive: whatever an opposing fan says doesn't matter, it pisses me off more after a loss. Other than that, I'm a sweetheart of a guy.

Champions of the West. It wasn't THAT long ago that California was San Francisco and a bunch of citrus groves and, except for those Chicago ruffians, the majority of the U.S. population was clustered in the Atlantic cities a la the New Yorker cartoon.

To your point, "Midwest" should really be broken down into Great Lakes, Central Plains, maybe Central Mississippi Region because they're all distinct geographically etc. However, my friends at Michigan from New York would often remark on how nice and polite Michigan people are, so maybe that is a shared trait.
