So it is going to be wet and cold tomorrow- and that means what for us?
Considering we are supposed to be passing to win tomorrow, I think this sucks. I only hope it can stay dry enough to not affect our game plan. Guess it can't be any worse than when we played there in a monsoon, but I don't think we need anything tilting against us at this point.

It was wet and cold two years ago when Denard decided to run through/over/between NDs defense. I think he, along with the rest of the team will be fine!
September 22nd, 2012 at 7:38 AM ^
Actually, it rained some that day, but it was a full 20 degrees warmer
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:21 AM ^
But the grass was let to grow longer to try and slow him down...that did happen
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:36 AM ^
Maybe that is becasue tall grass also slows down defenders??

Forecast has shifted a lot today. Either way it does not look like it will be much more than showers. The bigger factor in my opinion is what the wind will be like. It didn't look like it would be a factor in earlier forecasts but now looking like winds between 10-20 mph.
September 22nd, 2012 at 4:40 AM ^
10-20 mph down bursts of wind could make Denard the most accurate passer of all time
September 21st, 2012 at 10:42 PM ^
will have an impact on Denard's jump balls to both Gardner and Funchess.
September 21st, 2012 at 10:43 PM ^
We should forfit.
September 21st, 2012 at 11:44 PM ^
Just as long as we don't forfeit
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:41 AM ^
From his previous body of work, one could reasonably infer that his misspelling of "forfeit" was intentional, and meant to make fun of the ignorance of those chalking this up as an auto-loss solely on the basis of weather.
September 21st, 2012 at 10:43 PM ^
Passing to win? If your counting screens than ok. A fast quarterback, decent O-line and short routes are all good for beating a good front 4/7. The fact that its wet means what it always means, Denard won't be accurate and defensive players are disadvantaged a little on both sides. Honestly, I bet we win.
September 22nd, 2012 at 1:01 AM ^
What is a counting screen, and why do you assume I have one? Seems like that's something Herm would use instead of a calculator.
But if I did have a counting screen I'm sure it would be OK.
September 21st, 2012 at 10:47 PM ^
We weren't counting on laser accuracy in our passing game. Slipping defenders are good for us.

I can't remember what happened the last time we played a game at ND in a downpour:
Oh, that's right. Fandom Endurance III achievement unlocked, with the "watched the entire game from the ND student section in Michigan gear" bonus.

That picture's from the 2008 Northwestern game, but your point is taken.

rained in 2010 too, though it wasnt a downpour. but it always rains when we play in south bend, probably because god is crying watching the irish lose

was awarded for watching the entire M-Northwestern 2008 game start to finish in the stadium even after it was less than 1/3 full at halftime.

from Michigan Purdue. The year we missed bowl eligibility by 1 game. This one hurt the most because it was our last real chance to get in.

Michigan won't win.
September 21st, 2012 at 11:23 PM ^
You really threw down the gauntlet with that zinger. Got another one cominatcha right here.
Michigan, in fact, will win.
BOOM.
September 21st, 2012 at 11:28 PM ^
Michigan doesn't even have a real QB.
How many times did ND turn the ball over last year deep in your territory? And you still needed a 4th and goal miracle fumble to Denard? And a miracle last drive? At your place?
You guys played one team you didn't belong on the field with and two cupcakes and are going to try and jump up to ND's level right away when ND has been playing real teams the last 3 weeks? ND is much better this year than last year.
You have no chance.

Actually, Denard Robinson does each of the following things: 1. Exists and 2. Typically plays the quarterback position on Michigan's football team. So, I believe that meets the minimum requirements of being a "real QB."
Secondly... U MAD BRO
Those turnovers existed too. So did Jeremy Gallon, even if Notre Dame's sweet secondary didn't believe it. Here are some other images that might be of interest to you.
And my personal favorite...

Won't be close. I'm just warning you guys. If you didn't enjoy the Alabama game, then this will be more of the same...
September 22nd, 2012 at 12:06 AM ^
that ND is anywhere near as good as Alabama are you? Talk about delusional. Are you Lou Holtz's long lost twin or something?
September 22nd, 2012 at 12:14 AM ^
ND might still win but to compare yourselves to alabama is an insult to alabama, ND has no secondary, certainly no dee millner to break up everything and shove roundtree around like a rag doll

I wish I had a picture of Quinn picking the dirt clod out of his face mask to add here.
September 22nd, 2012 at 12:17 AM ^
but which passer would you take?
47/81 58% 7.4YPA 611YDS 3TD 1INT 131.1PR
41/75 54.7% 9.32YPA 699YDS 6TD 4INT 148.7PR
Personally, I take the one with better YPA, more yards, more touchdowns and a better passer rating, but I guess that's just me.
Sadly, none of this really matters, since trolls don't use logic. Of all the players to try and rag on, you pick the guy with 948 yards and eight touchdowns against those amazing Notre Dame defenses.
September 22nd, 2012 at 6:09 AM ^
which "real QB" is kelly going with this week? how many have seen the field already this season? you cant honeslty say that denard isnt a real qb with the mess that ND has under center. your "real qb" was riding the pine for 3 1/2 qtrs last week because he hasnt been able to lock up the job in 2 years of being there. or are they going back to the sophomore this week?

No offense to Navy, but Air Force is infinitely better than they are; Purdue might get bowl elgibile and MSU barely beat a bad, bad Boise State team that could only score 7 points on a miserable BYU squad.
We have no chance????
In what world could we possibly not have a chance against the Yakety Sax of college football. Half of your secondary are WRs, and your QB is a red-shirt freshman.
With Denard we have more than a chance, With Denard we have a very good chance and we have weapons with which you can't match up. Bring your best and we'll bring ours, that should be more than enough.
September 22nd, 2012 at 12:21 AM ^
Beat Air Force 59-33 last year. Air Force scored a lot in garbage time...but I'm sure they turned into worldbeaters this year...
