Submitted by Daniel on

Ok I changed my mind, gun to head today I think #Michigan would be choice for Da'Shawn Hand. Things getting interesting.

I said as of today, still long way to go I think “@theist313: @stephenjnesbitt @rivalsmike though he wasn't making a decision until Dec?”

Couple very good sources “@bzillmer: @rivalsmike Best news I've heard all day. What made you change your mind from yesterday?”

Sorry for the ugly twitter embed. Still working on that. Since Mike Farrell has been more on the Virginia Tech side on Hand's recruitment, this would seem a good sign.

If you really want to tell the difference, hold a piece of Subway turkey, with both hands until it is a single layer, up to the window.  You will see light come through it, becuase it has a lot more fluids in it than actual meat.  Now, try the same with Jimmy John's.

If you need more convincing, taste meat from both without any condiments.  The only thing that is better in Subway is the fresh baked bread smell.  Other than that, JJ's is a superior product.  When you add in what is, at least down here, superior service, comparing Subway to JJ's is like comparing a Quarter-pounder to a burger at a place like Friday's, Chili's, or Applebees.

Take it from someone who worked at JJ's during college, you're gonna want to rethink your praise of their meat.  I couldn't eat there for 2 years after I stopped working there.  It's freshly sliced (don't know about Subway but I would assume that's the case there as well), but there is plenty of unnaturalness to it.

You're ordering the wrong sandwiches.  JJ's italian is delicious, as is their avocado spread.  Subway is absolutely the last option in the sub world.  JJ's is faster and better.

Also, if you don't want mayo, just say so.  Not hard.

Agree with Tim. Subway over JJ's?  You are smoking crack.  Subway's lettuce is coated in plastic - it is the only lettuce I can clearly see in my BMs.

Also, Potbelly gives my stomach the rumbles.  If I had to rank those four:

JJ's > Panera > Potbelly's >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Subway

that the reason for that is Subway bakes them fresh on site.  JJ has them done somewhere else, wrapped and shipped.  My mother-in-law was a general manager for multiple JJ locations and their business model is very rigid and, imo, overly defined.  I like the sammiches, but agree about the cookies.

Went to Penn Station today for lunch. I tried the monthly special roasted artichoke sub. Very good sub and bun and the fresh cut fries were also tasty. They even brought around a free chocolate chip cookie to everyone in the dining area. Not much more expensive than a "value" meal at most fast food restaurants and worth the money.

So very very wrong. Granted, I should give them another try since they came out with their Bigs, but Potbelly's used to have the tiniest sandwiches. What am I supposed to do with a 7 inch sandwich? And where is Quizno's on the list? So from my outdated rankings it goes

Jimmy John's > Quizno's > Subway > Potbelly's

If we had more Penn Stations around AA, I'd be a happy guy. But Dibella's and Mancino's would rank ahead of all of these.

I attempted to go to Jersey Mike's, but they were not taking cards. I had to default to Subway. I'm regretting it, but not as much as I thought I would. EVERYTHING>Subway (which, consequently = Quizno's)

Bread all tastes like it was baked by the same disgusting robot, meat has no flavor and their cheese is made of pure phthalates. All the rest mentioned range from nicely acceptable to delicious and needn't be compared to Jared's yuck.
