This happens to Tyson regularly. It’s a weird phenomenon where idiots think it’s fun to try and goad the once “baddest man on the planet” into a fight. Just last month some guy did this at a comedy show to Mike, and then pulled a gun on him. People are assholes.

Speaking generally, it's the sort of thing that happens to big people everywhere occasionally.

Ask a big friend / acquaintance. Chances are they've been in a place that serves alcohol and someone much smaller than them has itched for a fight.

I'm the Big Friend.  6'4" 250.    This is absolutely real.   And you can't engage with the 5'9" Napoleon.   If it starts and you whoop him, well, of course.   If it starts and he whoops you, well now you're just the Big Pussy.   Probably had a dozen experiences in life where I had to eye roll the little guy to de-escalate.  Of course, I've been to every bar in the Midwest over the last 25 years.

The opposite also happens - quite a bit more often.  The big guy expects to intimidate the smaller guy, pushes through him, talks over him, is generally just rude enough to be rude without it being overly obvious to anyone but the smaller guy that experiences it every fucking day.  Most of the time it isn't intentional, it's just a natural thing.  And when called on it with a well placed 'excuse me', there's normally an apology.  But when it is intentional, it's pretty obvious.  And its fucking rude.

In the case with Tyson, that guy was intentionally goading him.  I saw the video and the guy was just being a complete asshole.  I'm kinda glad Mike kicked his ass...

I met Mike Tyson once. He's actually a pretty cool and down-to-earth dude. And if you've seen his more recent interviews, he's actually very humble and introspective about the struggles he's endured in his life. You get the sense that if he had been born into different circumstances, he could have been a PhD in psychology or something.

Knew someone that met an action star years ago (think it was Jean-Claude Van Damme but I may be wrong) and he asked him why he has so many bodyguards.  He responded, "You'd be amazed by how many people want to measure themselves by taking a shot at me.  And it's always when I'm not looking, so I have these guys to remind them that if they try it, they're gonna end up in the hospital."

So Mike Tyson has done some really bad things.  But man, that dude totally deserved an ass kicking.  Honestly, i wish he would have got destroyed a little worse.  I feel bad for Mike here.  The video before it happens, Mike was actually showing good restraint towards the annoying dude.  Humans can only take so much.  Mike took more than i thought he would.

Will Smith was completely inappropriate at the Oscars and should be held accountable in some way.    Violence is never o.k. in that scenario.

The douchbag who was harassing Mike Tyson totally got what he deserved.  Actually he probably deserved worse.   I hope he gets fired from his job and otherwise cancelled for being a dumbass.  Nothing should happen to Mike Tyson.  Maybe give him a medal.  Violence is appropriate and should be expected in this scenario.

Kind of sad we live in a world that it's totally plausible that the guy who took the video is in cahoots with the "victim" and the plan was to create a video to sell to TMZ.

It's also plausible that the whole thing is fake and they're all in cahoots and Mike did it for publicity.

Come on, dude. You know you don't attempt to throw anything at Mike until right after he blinks. You might be able to get away with this move with Glass Joe or Von Kaiser, but this was just sloppy.

Mike Tyson had an incredibly rough childhood. Absent mother and father, practically raised himself on the streets. Then his mother died when he was 16 and Tyson never graduated high school. Tyson got into all sorts of trouble and struggled with substance abuse later in life. He did some really shitty things and is responsible for his actions, but he's come a long way. But everyone has their limit. Dude deserved what Tyson gave him.

Watching this makes me even more convinced the FAA and TSA need to ban people like this from flying for some extended period.  Nobody wants to fly when there are assholes like this disrupting the flight.  It appears they're even in business and first class too, so you can't take refuge there anymore.
