[OT] Penn State may have accidentally leaked silent commit, 2018 4* WR Solomon Enis
Penn State twitter just deleted a tweet announcing all the signed Letters of Intents they received yesterday, which included a currently uncommitted WR Solomon Enis.
Just interesting because there were active rumors that Penn State recieved a NLI from a "silent commit" that wanted to announce at a later date. Most people believed that recruit was DE Jayson Oweh, who was scheduled to announce his commitment at the UA All-American game.
Looks like some intern might have just messed up, and taken away Enis's moment instead, but the silver linings is that Oweh's recruitment may still be up in the air.
How FG Franklin managed to convince this many blue-chips to go to Happy Valley is beyond me:

Is he related to the former PSU RB?
December 21st, 2017 at 4:26 PM ^
Yes, Solomon is former Penn State RB Curtis Enis's son.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:28 PM ^
Was actually ruined? Seems a bigger surprise if a sought after legacy was going somewhere else.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:51 PM ^
Less big surprise. I feel old.
December 21st, 2017 at 6:34 PM ^
Mallory didn’t come here.
December 21st, 2017 at 6:27 PM ^
I'm old and I'm only 29 FFS.
December 21st, 2017 at 5:27 PM ^
Curtis "don't call me penis" Enis?
December 21st, 2017 at 4:23 PM ^
Penn State also systematically covered up the rape of children for years, so this doesn't seem so bad in comparison.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:59 PM ^
Ok that was pretty damned funny
December 21st, 2017 at 6:12 PM ^
Only Penn State could keep years of rape covered up but leak a silent commit.
December 21st, 2017 at 6:14 PM ^
Had Twitter existed during Sandusky's abuses, I am 1000% certain he and Paterno would have leaked some damning DMs one night.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:27 PM ^
Penn State + Silent + Commit + Leaked + Enis = the most awful untintentional double entendre of all time.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:31 PM ^
And that is how you tactfully make a Penn State joke.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:38 PM ^
Wait a minute, I was tactful? I swear to God, I didn't mean to be...
December 21st, 2017 at 8:36 PM ^
If only his first name started with the letter "P", would have been perfect!
December 21st, 2017 at 4:32 PM ^
Hilarious
Coincidence? I think not!
December 21st, 2017 at 4:32 PM ^
enis.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:44 PM ^
Penn state loves themselves some enises.
December 21st, 2017 at 6:27 PM ^
Like Steve-o
December 21st, 2017 at 6:49 PM ^
Can’t unsee.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:32 PM ^
but I do think that everyone thinking Penn State is gonna go back to irrelevancy are kidding themselves.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:33 PM ^
How is FG franklin having this much success ? They are recruiting better than M this cycle. Ugh.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:36 PM ^
Penn State is a legit concern.
I posted this in the OSU thread:
Beware: Penn State is a sleeping giant.
Paterno had that program sleep walking his last decade. He did not even go visit recruits.
Then came the sanctions.
But Penn State has advantages that Ohio State does . . . the only major program in a talent rich area - PA, NJ, MD/DC (no, Pitt and Maryland don't count).
Most people on this board have never seen a fully weaponized Penn State, but it is deadly.
We need to gain critical mass in the recruiting areas of NJ and MD/DC before they completely take off.

Alternately, Saquon Barkley is a generational RB and they return to offensive mediocrity with Moorhead gone.

Miles Sanders ain't no slouch
December 21st, 2017 at 6:58 PM ^
And they just added another 5-star back in Ricky Slade. But ya know, Franklin once decided to kick a field goal so they definitely stink.
December 21st, 2017 at 10:04 PM ^
U have to be a baller if your name is Slade.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:55 PM ^
he absolutely went and visted recruits in his last decade at psu. a friend of mine played for psu and he came to our little town to recruit him.
December 21st, 2017 at 5:18 PM ^
Agreed - B1G East WILL become a 3-headed monster. Once we straighten out our snake bitten offensive line and PSU rebounds fully from Scan-dusky this division will become a murderers row
December 21st, 2017 at 5:42 PM ^
Our best hope is if Penn State's new OC is much more like Moorhead's predecessor than Moorhead. (And hopefully any changes to our staff bring in strong recruiters.)
December 21st, 2017 at 6:43 PM ^
Agree that their program has dangerous potential, but without Moorhead I have to see them taking a step backwards until they prove otherwise, especially after losing Barkley.

What do Franklin and Meyer have in common? Both came from the SEC and know how the system "works"
December 21st, 2017 at 4:51 PM ^
For Harbaugh to be out-recruited by Franklin is embarrassing. Thankfully 2019 should see us rebound.
December 21st, 2017 at 4:58 PM ^
Franklin has always been a good recruiter, even back at Vanderbilt he recruited at a high level considering the normal setbacks Vandy typically has.
December 22nd, 2017 at 7:33 AM ^
My understanding is that Franklin also pressured admissions at Vandy to slow for some low academic/low character players into the University. http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2015/01/27/two_ex_vanderbilt_foo…
December 21st, 2017 at 5:30 PM ^
Is it unacceptable?
December 21st, 2017 at 5:41 PM ^
or baffling?
December 21st, 2017 at 6:15 PM ^
Unacceptable to you? Do you really think anyone cares what you find unacceptable?
December 21st, 2017 at 10:55 PM ^
PSU won the BIG in 2016. Once Harbaugh wins the BIG and makes the playoffs, the top kids will notice and will come to Harbaugh in groves!
December 21st, 2017 at 5:01 PM ^
They had 20-30 4* and 5* players. The last 3 years they have 40-50 4* and 5* players. I know they had sanctions and coaching transitions, but good lord. I’m thinking that franklin must be spiking his snake oil or something. I don’t care how personable he may be. Dude has demonstrated moronic game management and said some pretty dumb things to the media. I find it hard to believe he can lure in that many kids playing above board.
December 21st, 2017 at 5:15 PM ^
Penn State has always been a recruiting powerhouse. Franklin is a great recruiter. The math adds up to continued powerhouse recruiting. And Franklin is looking like a better coach than we gave him credit for being, even if he is still that creepy fucker who covered up rape allegations against his players at Vandy while droolingly discussing his assustants' wives.
December 21st, 2017 at 6:56 PM ^
We'll see on him. The OC is out the door and they were loaded with veterans this year. And even with that, the season was a disappointment.
They are Michigan 2017 next year: graduating a bunch of older players he never recruited.
Next year will be a better measure of how he is doing and the direction.
December 21st, 2017 at 8:06 PM ^
I grow weary of your attempts to deceive...
December 21st, 2017 at 5:03 PM ^
for a school to talk about/tweet about/discuss/whatever an unsigned recruit?
Could they get into trouble for this?
Oh...wait...it isn't Harbaugh at Michigan, so it doesn't count.
December 21st, 2017 at 5:14 PM ^
Assuming accurate, he wasn't unsigned, he just hadn't publically announced for reasons. The list was of NOIs which were received. The issue (to the extent this is one) is that they stole the kid's thunder, not that they did anything against rules.
December 21st, 2017 at 5:14 PM ^
unless he did sign and just didn't want it public
December 21st, 2017 at 5:47 PM ^
There is also some weird loophole where it's only a violation if the recruit doesn't end up signing with the team. PSU trotted Lavert Hill onto the ice during a PSU hockey game and announced him to everyone. It only became a violation once he signed with the good guys. Since then I've often wondered what happened of this violation. Anyone know?

Tomorrow's headline:
"Penn State's Enis Leaked!"
Byline: "Jerry Sandusky Denies That Too."
