OT-Pam Ward removed from ESPN college football coverage
God has answered a prayer
now get rid of Millen on Michigan games and were set
and Spielman
Spileman is an interesting analyst, and is not biased at all against M despite his roots. In fact, he gets into details that other analysts do not, and is objectively good at what he does.
Spielman was biased as hell and then disappeared from the broadcast once Avery made the interception. Seriously, he said nothing for the rest of the broadcast.
People always say stuff like that, and usually, like you, have nothing concrete to demonstrate it.
She's not exciting, but she's not obnoxious, and I'll take that any day.
I suppose that in order to be truly obnoxious, you must have some degree of competency. The basic question: Was a Pam Ward broadcast unwatchable? The answer is clearly yes.
For me, it was her voice mostly. You can't call a football game if your voice is that montone.
So long, Pam. We'll always have 49-3 over Sparty.
#1 - I forgot they scored first and it was 3-0 Sparty
#2 - Those Sparty unis were AWFUL
#3 - Jason Avant made his first career catch in that game and it was very "Avant-like"...best hands at Michigan in the last 15 years...maybe more.
Watch the split screen shot of Marlin Jackson during warmups -- I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's another epic Brady Hoke point at around 34-35 seconds into this clip. (2002 was his last year as an assistant at Michigan.)
I think you are right!
...we still refer to that game as the (Jeff) Smok-A-Bowl...
A woman? I always just assumed ESPN got the graphic wrong and his name was Ward Pam.
- forward
- backward
- pamward
Somewhere, an angel has received its wings back.
I'll bet it was Tyreal. This move is both wise and just.
This comment very much. Thank you. On that note, what am I doing on here? I have Nightmare level to finish.
Now i might be able to watch a Northwestern game in peace. The time has passed that she would have ever covered another Michigan game regardless.
Hoke Uber Alles
Joe Morgan. Fired in 2011. Gives me hope.
Well, you could give ESPN credit for it, but I'm pretty sure Ohio paying Urban millions of dollars to coach football had something to do with him leaving ESPN. I can't wait to see Pam Ward on the sidelines next year as Tony Gibson's trainee. Learn from the best to be the best!
Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free at last.
Or your exile?
Exile? If that happened, I'm certainly not aware of it.
Hadn't seen you around, and the mods talked about a "time out" for someone who posted good content in the past, but was being knuckle rapped for making a Ohio decommit-child porn guy joke. (Before Brian made his). Since your post had been deleted from the thread at the same time, and I hadn't seen you around, I thought it was you. The price of cutting edge humor, I guess.
I am so happy about this. I can't stand her voice.
Is it just me, or does this meme make absolutely no sense? Maybe I'm just a slowpoke.
Hail Yes.
Let's just hope that the BTN doesn't pick her up in a twist of cruel fate.
Oh my God, why did you even bring up that nightmare scenario???????

I worked there for a while and sat next to the guy that hired the broadcasters. Trust me, they won't hire Pam Ward. All he did was belittle her ability.
Attempt #3
1) Her voice is deeper than mine
2) She had an Adam's apple the size of a grapefruit
3) She had hands as big as Andre the Giant
4) Despite this, I was strangely attacted to her
and
5) She couldn't get through a game without at least a dozen screw ups.
Other than that...she was OK by me.
Who's going to post the video of her complaining that an injury timeout was taking too long and she said something like "Just get off the field"?

the Ward/Ray Bentley duo was the absolute worst I've ever endured. Pam wasn't nearly as bad as Bentley, though.
i'm crying tears of joy.
Things this good don't just happen.
