I’m shocked it happened this fast, but viewed in the shadow of the Nassar incident also not surprised. Really hope they can get their act together organizationally, football be damned.

EDIT - changed title to reflect actual known state of things - LSA

I usually don't read his posts because I don't care about finding out things before they officially happen, so I don't know what's been true and what hasn't. I would have an issue with him if it was determined that none of his information had any validity at all and he was just trolling us with made up stuff. But it seems like some people like getting the tidbits, speculation or not.

To my knowledge, GofJG had never been banned until now.  I came down on him a couple months ago for brazenly hijacking a thread by posting his schtick as the first reply; since then he had complied.  As far as I was concerned, problem solved.  Whatever he had posted this afternoon was deleted before I was aware of it, but I fully trust the judgement of LSA in banning him.

Took care of it, Rob.

Fuck that guy for taking a victory lap over something so horrifying.

ADDENDUM: I undid the block upon further reflection and a re-read of a couple things, but the shtick has to change. I stand by that. For example, we can't end a post about this stuff with "cheers" as if it were some celebratory moment. It's not....for anyone.

I know you guys have a tough job, but I have to say that guy (while extremely annoying in his posting style, timing and delivery) is literally the closest thing to an insider on this site that is actually willing to post anything.  Some of the staff here (mainly Seth) know stuff because they rub elbows with Sam, etc - but nothing comes out when it's actually of value, at best we get a "hey, want to know what the deal was with XYZ?" years later when nobody even remembers it.

Yes, I know I could get better access to "inside info" by signing up for all the premium message boards that are harder to cancel than a Bally's Total Fitness membership.  I do have a job and a family, so I come here for the summary :D

Hopefully the other post will be deleted, not this one.

As I said there, I was relieved to see no posts on this until something at least semi-official.

Good job mods, I suspect?   Otherwise, congrats to the community for not jumping on this earlier. Let's have a modicum of class about this.

If it’s true they’ve sat on this since March, then other heads need to roll inside this sex abuse factory of a University.  There is NO EFFING WAY I’d send one of my daughters to this place…

I think you're jumping to conclusions based on incomplete information. For all we know, there has been an ongoing investigation and it was leaked when it was determined that the allegations are true. You're assuming that all the information publicly available thus far is all the information that exists.

Aside from how terrible Tuck’s behavior is, incredible that MSU has this unbelievable stroke of luck in being able to get out of an otherwise guaranteed $80 million for a mediocre-to-terrible coach. They will be able to get a better coach in that role now.

"... being able to get out of an otherwise guaranteed $80 million ..."

I'm not familiar with all the legal details. I think it would be hilarious if Tuck somehow got more money from them.

"They will be able to get a better coach in that role now."

Remember we're talking about Sparty. Things can get worse (and have, sometimes).

I hope Dantonio doesn't do any recruiting evaluations for them. I'm serious.

They seem to have a penchant for pulling undeserved miracles out of their asses, but in this case for that to happen it would be some unheralded assistant taking it because it's his only shot at an HC gig, and just happening to be wildly successful. I would have to think after the last seven years, now another scandal tacked on, that athletic department is going to be radioactive to anyone whose name is known. And you know they're definitely not handing out another contract like the one Mel got. Although with Michigan's ongoing success they're pretty desperate for positive attention (as we see once again, never a problem getting negative attention), so you never know what they may be willing to try.

At this point Izzo is the only thing holding that fanbase together.
