Hardaway sure hasn't been shooting well most of this season.  I wish he would take it in for something shorter to jump start his game.  Just heaving threes is a tough way to get it going.

A lot of people seem to think that stepping closer to the basket makes a shot easier.  That's not necessarily so.  Moving closer can give the defense a better chance to challenge a shot.  And intermediate shots can often be harder than three-pointers, especially when the shooter is on the move and has to pull up.

For someone like Hardaway, who has three-point range, I think a wide-open 20 footer, shot in rhythm and off a good pass, is an easier shot that a 12-15 footer, off the dribble, after a pump fake -- especially when the 20 footer is from the corner and the pull up is along the baseline.

I am really impressed with our defense so far this year.  We have some decent height down low but alot of it lacks bulk.  We seem to be holding our own regardless.  (except for Rocco a few weeks ago)

on that last possesion and no foul call.  Then a bad foul call against Morgan in which the announcers said something like "look at Ted Valentine getting into the act with that energetic foul call."  What a joke Valentine is.

I'll take it. We've looked a little ugly at times, but they've looked uglier. 8 point lead gives us some space to work moving into the second half.

...29-21 M.  Biggest stat: Morgan and Benson each with 2 PF.  Ability to keep Morgan on the floor is huge. 2nd biggest stat: Oak 1-6 FT.  3rd biggest stat: rebounds M/O 21/20.

No, I'm not pretending to be the knowledge. Just pointing out that this is the first ESPN3.com game I've seen. I suspect I'll be watching many more. The technology is really getting there. There are some glitches and missed seconds, but overall not bad. And any time you get to hear Tim McCormick, it's a good day.
