GO BLUE BEAT SMU

ALSO CJK5H…

GO BLUE BEAT SMU

ALSO CJK5H @ SMU

The only thing more…

The only thing more important than the team is Jim Harbaugh's idea of what the offense should look like and his inability to adjust, evolve or change it. Sigh.

Worst part is I laughed at those 49er fans, thought they were crazy! =(

Poor offensive line…

Poor offensive line recruiting/coaching/play for an extended period time may be what did us in. His injury was bad and did not help but things weren't very good even before it happened.

Also there are plenty of squads (better than us right now) that make it work through development of under the radar or even unranked offensive line guys. If we had a better coach he might scour the lower ranks of college football/high school coaching and find a guy who knows what he's doing and what the future looks like for the position.Seems like even ND did something similar for their OC and DCs. Our guy will just hire is friend though...=/....

Just not good. Everything is…

Just not good. Everything is bad. On offense, stubborn to a philosophy that doesn't work in college unless you are STACKED with talent, especiallly on the offensive line. We're taking dynamic, talented players and putting them in schemes that take all of that away, and that's been going on for some time and doesn't look like it's going to change. (I thought JH was studying RPO?) Defensively, this aggressive philosophy is great against teams where we physically and athletically have an advantage. The defensive backs only have to cover for a short period of time before the pressure gets home. Run into a team where we don't have that edge and the quarterback can move and we're in trouble. There has to be more of a plan and structure. Coverage and ball skills of the back end was also extremely suspect.

So much more to criticize but nah.

Great win. Took Northwesterns

Great win. Took Northwesterns desire and hope early on in the second quarter. I hope Captain Comeback takes the team on a mini submarine trip this week until we come out of the tunnel next Saturday.

Also, it was Darryl Stonum, not Darrell. Just FYI

The fact that the victim was

The fact that the victim was able to write such a detailed account of what occurred during her ptsd related panic attack makes me think she is probably exaggerating a little. Either way, hopefully mentally she and the dog are okay and are able to return to campus and continue to be as independent as they were.

These two dudes probably didn't give a shit and think they can do whatever the fuck they want on campus. After all the impending negativity, punishment and embarassment they will probably face, hopefully they will actually learn something and be able to change for the better.

I won't make excuses for

I won't make excuses for injuries, and Beilein won't either - I like that.

I also think these guys played well tonight. Little things here and there that our guys do well and don't do well. Most notably though, end of game defense - need to work on that full court press more so we're not giving up decent half court looks with a few seconds left. Those go in sometimes, and it sucks when they do. Also - WTF inbounding? Does not look like this is something we practice.

Not sure about the late game offense. By late game, I mean regulation only. Overtime offense does not exist. I think the lack of any offensive sets being run in the last few regulation possessions help create the nosedive we've fallen into during overtimes.

The injuries and losses to

The injuries and losses to graduation/NBA have really taken a toll this season.

Beilein and the staff HAVE to recruit better. McGary was a huge get for us, but we haven't really seen any uptick from the final four run which is really frustrating. I get that we're looking for high character guys, but a one and done player isn't the end of the world.

It's not the end of the world this year, the guys we have will be here a few more years and will develop and get better, I just wonder why the coaches are so patient (which is great) when they don't have to be.

Kiffin blew that game. With

Kiffin blew that game. With backs like Henry and Yeldon I don't know why they insisted on passing and running screens so often.

Meyer is a great coach, no doubt. I hope our new coach watched these games today, because if anything he'll see the challenge in front of him and level of competitiveness it will take. He probably digs that shit,

Lloyd needs to turn his phone

Lloyd needs to turn his phone off and shut up. Maybe we can send him on a sailing trip with his buddy Bill Martin?

Will Muschamp looked like a

Will Muschamp looked like a coach who's probably getting canned and just coached like he didn't give a shit. He looked like he actually wanted to keep the job. Hoke is just a chump. Our players play and won the game for each other, it had NOTHING to do with the coaches.

Unbelievable to me that

Unbelievable to me that people still complain about the students not showing up or leaving early. Sure it was mostly empty in the top of the student section, but it was noticably empty near the top of most sections and that was even more apparent after the half. It was cold, more cold than most expected. Season tickets were expensive (and prices were raised, thanks dave) for a fairly bad schedule and sales were down. This has not been a successful season, Michigan hasn't been great in quite some time. The following that some of the older fans have just isn't there right now.

I do believe that with a new AD and the right hire of a new coach, things can change fast. There is talent on that football team, it just is not being recognized, utilized properly or developed. Just an epic failure all around by this coaching staff. A good staff will be able to make it work and ease the pain of what looks like will be an off year in recruiting. They should lower prices even more than what DB promised as a show of good faith.

People care about Michigan

People care about Michigan athletics, so much that even when they absolutely suck they still get more coverage than an extremely successful team in East Lansing. If they feel this way, the athletes should NEVER call it The Big House because it's muggles and even others who never even went to the damn school paying to be there.

I really don't believe that many athletes feel that way. I've noticed David Brandon has had a ton of support from the a) super rich donors and b) the successful alums involved in the media. He was probably a huge suck up and catered to their every need. I could definitely see him kind installing a culture among the athletic campus that they were the true and visible ambassadors to the University. That is true to an extent, but if you continually force that view on people it can turn negative fast.

I'm definitely glad he's gone but I do think that some of the facility improvements yet to be completed that he had a huge hand in will help ease the negativity on his short legacy. It is very ironic that all those mentions he made of a full overhaul of the student IM building never panned out....

Second sentence in and this

Second sentence in and this press conference was essentially done. I like this guy.

They could definitely

They could definitely negotiate a resignation scenario where Hoke gets the 2015 buyout money now at the benefit of the program. Could probably make a package to pay Brandon a little less too to part ways now. They won't take it, and it is a lot of money to just leave on the table, but based on all their talk about their love for Michigan, etc. you'd think they would. They don't care about anything but the money at this point.

The way Hoke has apologized to Dantonio for this stupid stake incident shows me a level of weakness that you never want out of a leader. It's almost like he's trying to show everyone that even though he is a terrible coach, he is still a "good man" so that he can get hired doing something after he's done @ Michigan.

Whatever happens, that money they save by keeping this circus going should definitely be put RIGHT back in to the new coaching staffs salary. BEST AVAILABLE coaching staff with experience winning/developing players in the NFL or top tier of college football (BCS). Knowledge of the Michigan tradition? Former Player? Those two things are great, but not necessary. No point in getting all excited for Harbaugh or Miles when realistically neither of them are coming.

It will be awesome when the

It will be awesome when the current players see the difference between the joke of a coaching staff we have now, to the elite coaching staff that will be brought in next.

Maybe 'elite' is pushing the envelope, but god damnit competent would be considered elite compared to what we have now.

We can thank Richard Nixon

We can thank Richard Nixon for having a way to name and seperate all of the failures at Michigan this season.

Brady Hoke is pussy and a

Brady Hoke is pussy and a terrible football coach. He is basically just waiting for his check. It sucks that he failed at his dream job, but he knew what he was getting into. He was just surprised someone actually wanted him. For that, David Brandon is at fault.

Where is this from? Link?

Where is this from? Link?

Of the 8 Regents, 2 are

Of the 8 Regents, 2 are Republican, 6 are Democrats. David Brandon is a Republican. Politics as usual in Ann Arbor? GOD DAMNIT I HOPE SO.

Maybe Denise Illitch can get Brandon a pizza gig again? Or maybe Michigan Governor (and alum) Rick Snyder wins his re-election campaign and needs to fill a high profile spot on his staff.

I'm convinced Hoke is done at the end of the season to save $1 million, but my biggest fear is Brandon somehow survives. Schlissel's statement at the last Regents meeting makes me think that Brandon is also gone but I guess you never know.

I don't think it was that

I don't think it was that Hoke didn't care and wanted him to play even if he was concussed. I think it was that Hoke has no idea what is going on, the game overwhelms him. That is still unacceptable and he has to go.

I glanced over this post and

I glanced over this post and just had to comment on how stupid it looked. It looked extremely stupid.

Harbaugh or Miles or bust.

Harbaugh or Miles or bust. They won't be long term, I suspect Harbaugh would eventually head back to the NFL and Miles is already getting up there. But at least they would get something respectable going for the next guy. Or you could go young and try to get someone like Sumlin or Kingsbury. Someone who has shown they can actually coach part of the game (WEAR A HEADSET BECAUSE THEY ARE INVOLVED IN THE GAME), build a great staff (at the highest levels of college football) and recruit.

Regents need to force

Regents need to force resignations of Hoke and Brandon.

Rather than coaching candidates, I am more interested in AD candidates.

Ausmus has shown to be as

Ausmus has shown to be as stupid and old school as Leyland. Verlander is struggling now because he was used waaay too much in the years previous. Leyland would leave him in for complete games when he could have pulled in in the 6th. You'd think the younger Ausmus would be more in touch with what's going on and not go with starters after the 7th (or beyond 80-90 pitches) but he won't. If I was Scherzer I would take the money and hit the road.

I still don't think we're at

I still don't think we're at the point where it is a foregone conclusion that Hoke will be fired, but I do hope that when it comes to that point they release him immediately instead of waiting. The buyout is $3 million before 2015 and $2 million after, but I think Manchester United vs. Real Madrid can pay for that extra million. I would definitely become more of a soccer fan. =)

Damn, bump this shit to the

Damn, bump this shit to the front page. You might be writing about a multi-faceted disaster, but it's some great writing nonetheless!

WE ONLY GET THE 'ORE' IF WE

WE ONLY GET THE 'ORE' IF WE SCORE AN OFFENSIVE TOUCHDOWN. Is that the joke? Or was that just an honest mispell? Or am I just insane?

Hoke should be done at the

Hoke should be done at the end of the season. He's really proved to be dead weight on his own staff. I don't care whether or not he wears the headset, but I'm not sure anyone is entirely sure what he does during the game. I just hope everyone is respectful throughout all the impending frustration.

The players seem to be getting worse as time goes on. We have a true freshman starting at left tackle because his technique and ability haven't been destroyed by our terrible offensive line coach yet. This is a coaching staff meant for a lower tier of football, they are not capable of taking some of the most talented high school players to the next level.

I hope they do decide to play Morris (and even Bellomy, Speight can redshirt), because whether Hoke is here or not next season, those guys will definitely will be and it just seems like a good decision for the program going forward.

Where did our screen game go? Roll outs? Screens to Norfleet were moving the ball great @ ND. QB roll outs seem like a no brainer with our struggling offensive line and athletic quarterback. Either someone is meddling into Nussmeier's offensive game plan OR Alabama told him to hit the road and it only looked like we lured him away.

Well that didn't show as

Well that didn't show as planned, just go visit www.bigten.org and try not to laugh

The big ten conference is just inept at everything (bigten.org)

This is what bigten.org homepage looks like right now, they might want to not advertise this medication for a few days..

Everything is terrible. Maybe

Everything is terrible. Maybe this was just a hiccup? Maybe me saying that is my own delusion. They just lost what I thought was the most winnable rivalry game. I'm assuming ohio state offensive line and qb will get better as the season goes on, because that is what average to good coaching staffs do over a season. What looked like a boring and easily undefeated home slate suddenly looks potentially exciting. The bad kind of exciting.

Everything is awful.

Everything is awful.

Hopefully Robinson ends up on

Hopefully Robinson ends up on a team with a staff that helps him change his mindset on the basketball court. He has the ability to dominate a game, it's just about whether he wants to or not. It was time for him to go if the info came back with first round potential.

I think it's stupid when people say he is bailing on the program because that couldn't be farther from the truth. Another Michigan player in the NBA will help build the program, imo.

We'll see what happens with McGary, but if he stays, McGary and Donnal could be fun to watch together.

If you can get anyone to

If you can get anyone to visit Michigan in January, there is probably high interest.

Denard will not play much

Denard will not play much next season either, but I think the season following he explodes back onto the scene and becomes a legitimate threat at RB.

I liked your special teams

I liked your special teams points. Lost in all the struggles and failures on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, are the fact that our special teams have become pretty mediocre and predictable. Punters pride themselves in havng an arsenal of different punts. Different punts can provide different advantages in different situations. Sorry for the "different" usage. Just would like to see something new in the kickoff/punt and return game. Though, we probably have bigger problems to worry about, like rushing the ball for positive yardage and having yards gained be greater than the number of attempts. Lol is this really happening?

First I thought it was

First I thought it was stubbornness, then I thought it was stupidity, THEN I thought it was a lack of creativity and ability to adjust. Now I know it is all those things. Fire Al Borges and anyone who tries to defend or stand by him can go too.

Mattison rarely brings

Mattison rarely brings pressure this season and it really hurts us because our defensive line is not good. Cook made bad throws/threw out of bounds (once for int. grounding) on the few ocassions we did bring pressure. Also, maybe the DBs could do some WR drills this week and learn how to CATCH THE DAMN BALL.

Hoke is failing at the one

Hoke is failing at the one thing he is supposed to be good at. Delegating tasks and making great picks for his assistants. Seems like he's been doing that for so long and letting them run the show during the games that even if he decided to put the headset on he wouldn't be able to do anything anyway. Not to mention, the defensive line is not very good, but that has a lot to do with Mattison rarely bringing much pressure and doing so at strange times.

It's hard to be patient when you see teams like Auburn, UCLA, A&M rising again. Auburn just won a NC but they were bad with Chizik in the years after Newton. Can't help but think that we took a pretty big risk with RichRod and then went safe with Hoke and now it's just like WTF. I do want Borges and Funk gone, but also then realize we have no one to really call plays because our head coach certainly won't be able to given that he is a defensive coach. That's a pretty big problem to me,

Really?

Really?

Will not blame players, ever.

Will not blame players, ever. Limited to 20 hours a week, coaches cannot expect fresman to pick up complicated schemes on either side of the ball. You forget how much talent is on this roster. DG was the #1 ranked dual threat QB a few years back. Where's Green? Kalis and Magnuson? We aren't missing in our evaluation, our coaches are just awful. Mallory, Funk, Borges, Hoke & Mattison (DL? No pressure until it didnt matter) MSU has it right defensively, simple packages executed to perfection. Borges is slowly pushing my anger towards Hoke, who is allowing this to continue, week after week. Head(set) less. They've already destroyed Devin Gardner, putting him in a bad system set to fail, then making him seem like he's the problem so that now his decision making is all out of whack. Throwing Shane Morris into a lose lose situation on 4th down was even more disturbing to me. Just punt it or at least put Cleary in there. You can do some major damage to a QB's confidence on the road in that kind of environment. (Bellomy, anyone?) Hoke needs to make some changes to this coaching staff ASAP. This isn't a wait till the end of the season kind of thing. Of course, we have a situation where our OC is also our QB coach, so making a change would likely make things worse.

If Hoke can somehow still get a committment from Hand and keep the one from Peppers, he should really be untouchable, because obviously he is a Jedi. *Waves hand* You will commit to Michigan.

I can now say with 100%

I can now say with 100% certainty that whatever Borges coached Denard to do, Denard just disregarded it and said, "Ok, whatever you say coach," and then just went on the field and did his thing.

Borges only knows one type of offense, and the game has passed him by, even at the NFL level. When he tries to be creative and innovative, he fails miserably. He's better off just sticking to what he knows, even if that would neutralize Devin's running ability.

The struggles this season BETTER pay dividends next season, when Morris can step in with a complete knowledge of the offense and confidence behind an experienced and highly regarded offensive line. I understand Devin has another year left, but I am assuming Morris will beat him out of the job next season because he fits the offense Borges is trying to implement.

Also, special teams? Do our coaches practice blocking schemes on returns? Tackling?

Shit I don't even care about

Shit I don't even care about this season anymore. No one has even begun to even touch on the effect this could have on recruiting...

I agree with you, but that's

I agree with you, but that's the first step in a eventual replacement of Funk. Hoke wouldn't undermine someone on his staff like that. Too loyal.

EDIT: Would the hiring of Tice include a Sex Boat Stripper party? LOL That might help this team out....

Hoke won't make any

Hoke won't make any decisions. Borges isn't going anywhere. Hoke is LLoyal (see what i did there?) to a fault. My issue is he is putting his personal loyalty before Michigan and the team. The sad part is even Morris and Bellomy have been INT in their limited snaps. What do they all have in common? Yes, this guy sucks. Who would be a good fit to replace him....Cam Camer----god damnit.

Hoke or Borges have yet to be ripped by the media, but I really don't think any reporters or columnists have the balls.

My issue is that Hoke just

My issue is that Hoke just stands around clapping looking like an idiot on the sidelines when his team is falling apart and his staff is letting him down. I understand he delegates, but maybe it's time to start coaching. Then FINALLY he decides to put a headset on, didn't help, though.

Fire em all.

Fire em all.

Mattison is doing dumb things

Mattison is doing dumb things like rushing 3, yet he does what is necesscary when the game is on the line. They are young and getting better, yet I'd like to see the coaches actually teach our ends and LBs to, you know, rip and swim inside so their aggressive rush doesn't take them right out of the play. This is the best unit on our squad.

Borges...sigh. An inside screen to Devin Funchess? Like really? Even my girlfriend was like, why is there such a large man getting the ball so close to all the other large men? A QB rollout would be nice? You know, to offset out struggling OL and take advantage of Devin's speed ability to improvise with his WR/TEs. Borges sucks, plain and simple. Needs to go.

Special Teams have not gotten any better since Hoke has been here. I don't think we've had a kick or punt return for a TD since he's been here. We keep saying Norfleet is going to break one...he has the ability...he does not have the blocking or the coaching to learn how to follow them.Coverage has left a lot to be desired. Kicking?  Gibbons reverted back to the RichRod struggles. Also he is now 240 pounds. That blocked kick on us was just a complete lack of effort on the line thinking the game was done. I don't think Ferrigno is doing anything.

Gardner is also not good, but I believe it is Borges destroying him with stupid playcalls and personnel on the field. Also, he needs to look at the god damn playclock.

Hoke needs to make a change, and if he doesn't? I don't even want to go there. Just do it.

You don't bring Morris in @

You don't bring Morris in @ Penn State on the road. Maybe if the game is in hand one way or the other, fine. Not now though, you run the risk of really messing with his confidence. You could also strike gold with Morris, but man, it's a big risk when you take a look at what is behind him on the depth chart.
