Dam that revenue stream.

Do we get free admission to the game in Dallas if we wear that then?
October 6th, 2011 at 10:24 AM ^
perfect comment!

Things will get out of control. They will get out of control, and we'll be lucky to live through it.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:55 AM ^
Why did you post a picture of a lady in Belgium Shepard hat?
October 6th, 2011 at 10:56 AM ^
My 10 year old wanted one until I convinced him it wouldn't look good with his sunglasses. He went with the Big House beanie. Behold, his awesomeness:
October 6th, 2011 at 12:08 PM ^
You sir, are a good father.
October 6th, 2011 at 11:11 AM ^
on saturdays i see more than too many of these on men in their late 30s wearing this crap? is this the mindset of our fanbase????
October 6th, 2011 at 1:02 PM ^
I think there can be a playfulness / self-parody to a 30 something wearing the "mascot" hats. Unfortunately for every one person who "gets it" there are 30 that think you are an idiot. I don't like those ratios. Also if something were to happen, who is taking the guy wearing the plastic Wolverine hat seriously?
October 8th, 2011 at 12:26 PM ^
It's the mindset of the fanbase after massive quantities of alcohol. Or maybe better known as that's a great f'ing idea effect.
October 6th, 2011 at 3:59 PM ^
I have the first one and I rather like it. It's great for the wierd looks I get on Halloween if nothing else.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:04 AM ^
for the 3-7 year old demographic
October 6th, 2011 at 10:18 AM ^
Hey the second one might be good at keeping my head warm in a cold november game.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:22 AM ^
I dont mind the first one because it is based off the helmet.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:07 AM ^
We need to see the cup as half full. Maybe having a bunch of crazy fans in the stands with these mascott heads will be the official mascott. Fans feed off the other fans more than some contrived on field mascott anyway.
Edit: You forgot to mention this is child's size. This could still answer the perceived need to have a mascott for the kids though.

October 6th, 2011 at 3:51 PM ^
They have the king of all contrived mascots. How could anyone say "fear the nut" and take themselves seriously? If a Buckeye is named that because it resembles a deer's eye, why wouldn't you use some kind of a bad ass Turdy point buck type mascot?
My dad's from Western NY and he calls them the horse chestnuts.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:39 AM ^
Is that really so weird for Halloween coming up?
Making a post out of this is as dumb as the person who read the "boilerplate" language in the Alabama game contract and suggested the sky might be fallin because "mascots" get in free to the game.
Get it together people.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:45 AM ^
You may be right, but the mden has a holiday section and this thing is not on that page. If they remove it from the site after halloween maybe you're right. I only posted it because I wanted to make people aware that it exists.

I'm as anti-mascot as anybody, but if this is really a "Child Fuzzy Michigan Mascot Hat," as the page states, this is not anything to get worked up about.
Selling t-shirts that say "Lee Chose Wisely" with a picture of Lee Corso on them is offensive to Michigan's brand--much more offensive than "Child Fuzzy Michigan Mascot Hat."
October 6th, 2011 at 10:21 AM ^
I don't think it should be a crime to shoot anyone you see wearing this.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:56 AM ^
Come on, man, I got paid $100 to model that....
October 6th, 2011 at 10:24 AM ^
all of the fail in this picture...
October 6th, 2011 at 10:51 AM ^
The adidas logo and shoe stripes is a nice touch. Well played.
October 6th, 2011 at 12:13 PM ^
That's a Photoshop job, right? Nobody in their right mind would actually wear something like that. RIGHT??

I for one welcome our new mascot overlords. I'd like to remind David Brandon that as a trusted MGoUser, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in his underground money caves.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:32 AM ^
This is our mascot. Get used to it.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:33 AM ^
Is its name "Emmy"?
October 6th, 2011 at 10:37 AM ^
Naturally. Emmy the M. You need two people in the suit at once and it needs to be at least 6 ft wide.
October 6th, 2011 at 11:03 AM ^
If we must have a mascot, the block M with legs sticking out is exactly what it should be. And it should be as ridiculous as the Stanford tree.
I've said this for the past 20 years and I would support it 100%.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:27 AM ^
They have a history of being granted an inexplicable permission to mess with official brands. Remember that Claw/Block M Logo a few years back...?

I hate this. This is so fucking stupid.

Subtle.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:32 AM ^
how is one supposed to wear that? doesn't it cover up your face so you can't see out? or is the face on the back? is this just a golf club head cover?
October 6th, 2011 at 10:34 AM ^
Chef hat style is what I was thinking.
October 6th, 2011 at 11:00 AM ^
oven mit. But as a hat - fail.

and could I have two for the nephews?

the blazen red tongue.
October 6th, 2011 at 1:06 PM ^
Dear Mr. Brandon, I understand college athletics is about money and I applaud your efforts to maximize income to keep the M machine moving forward. However, in my opinon, ANY mascot will hurt the M brand and make us appear cheap. The only exception would be a large, real wolverine roaming the sidelines, but I doubt that would be safe. Thank you for listening to your supporters who spend many MILLIONS of doallars a year on tickets, merchandise and donations.
Edit: What makes this flamebait? Am I missing something, have never had this before. Thank you.
October 6th, 2011 at 11:46 AM ^
of a mascot, I think it would really help getting a younger crowd get into the games. I mean, there is nothing I enjoy more than going to a college football game and being surrounded by children aged 2-10 waving at the mascot on the sideline, not making noise on critical fourth downs, and just being general ass-clowns about the rules of football.
October 6th, 2011 at 11:57 AM ^
why someone would pay $75 to $100 for a ticket then put something on that blocks most of their vision
