This is yet another "where did I or my family's genetics go wrong?" moment - less than a third of my age and already three inches taller and not to mention about my weight too. I seriously feel shafted by genetics sometimes. Of course, per the NCAA rules, I think you only need to be enrolled in high school to meet the minimum age requirements to be offered, so being fresh out of middle school basically qualifies you there.

Big time position of need. By the time this kid steps on campus, all of the current qbs and the qb commits are going to be in the NFL. I like that Jim is thinking way ahead.

Normally I'm not a big fan of offering kids before they even set foot in a high school program and weight room. But I'm not the coach and I don't know shit about football compared to what Harbaugh knows.

Especially when it comes to the QB position. If he's good enough for Harbaugh, he's good enough for all of us.

I'd say if the kid has a descent arm, descent accuracy, good head on his shoulders in schoool and know's his playbook then take him. Jim can make him or anyone a good qb if they have some good things going for them. Hell, Jim could make me a good qb but that sort of stuff doesn't interest me so I'm not going to do it. ;)

This is crazy. What did Harbaugh see to offer this eighth-grader a full ride to the University of Michigan? His pop Warner game film? middle school game film? He threw the ball well a few times at a satellite camp with no pass rush? I love Harbaugh and his wacky antics. But offering a kid who has never thrown a pass in High School is asinine.

I've seen ton of kids mature faster than everyone in middle school, and then by the time they are seniors in high school everyone has caught up to them and they are just average. No, i'm not a "hater", I just hate kids getting offers to college and they haven't even prove their worth yet.

We'll....
I remember when I used to make fun of coaches for doing this. How the times have changed.
I don't mind really but I do think the world 'offer' needs to be hanged to 'opportunity'.
If I'm that kids dad I am accepting loudly and publicly tomorrow; he can always change his mind four years from now!
