Jim Harbaugh offers scholarship to 8th-grade QB in Hawaii.
that his luau hog roast skills are top notch. Have to offer early.
hula-rious
...with apologies to Don Ho...
That's awful young... Island on the other side of this argument.
Hog roast? You mean Kalua pig you Haole?
and not even in HS until this fall. He must be walking on water with that offer!
kid is large -> gets offer -> becomes Jesus?
Is that how the second coming is supposed to happen?
This is yet another "where did I or my family's genetics go wrong?" moment - less than a third of my age and already three inches taller and not to mention about my weight too. I seriously feel shafted by genetics sometimes. Of course, per the NCAA rules, I think you only need to be enrolled in high school to meet the minimum age requirements to be offered, so being fresh out of middle school basically qualifies you there.
Kid must be good as hell. Mahalo.
Need him for all-name team purposes, possibly also for throwing a football
Hawaii is erupting with talent
That's a hot take.

Aa, not so fast.....
I couldn't decide if your comment was funny or not, but finally island-ed on the side of yes, it is funny.

Everybody Mordors.

Especially when it comes to the QB position. If he's good enough for Harbaugh, he's good enough for all of us.

Can't wait for the ALOHA post!
I'd say if the kid has a descent arm, descent accuracy, good head on his shoulders in schoool and know's his playbook then take him. Jim can make him or anyone a good qb if they have some good things going for them. Hell, Jim could make me a good qb but that sort of stuff doesn't interest me so I'm not going to do it. ;)
From the sounds of it he'll be making some good throws while being sacked.
Hard not to get sacked without a single Oline recruit in the 2020 class.
apparently so did you.
on the sat camp momentum in the Pacific. Sending the message to all recruits there that we are serious. JH knows what he is doing.

this is a great way to justify frequent recruiting trips to hawaii
I've seen ton of kids mature faster than everyone in middle school, and then by the time they are seniors in high school everyone has caught up to them and they are just average. No, i'm not a "hater", I just hate kids getting offers to college and they haven't even prove their worth yet.

#2 recruit in the country was offered by LSU and Bama in 8th grade. Originally committed to LSU and now considered a Bama lean.

I remember when I used to make fun of coaches for doing this. How the times have changed.
I don't mind really but I do think the world 'offer' needs to be hanged to 'opportunity'.
If I'm that kids dad I am accepting loudly and publicly tomorrow; he can always change his mind four years from now!

told Sol-Jay that he likes poi, has a Don Ho CD in his car and the MMB plays the Hawaiian War Chant.
The offer makes sense to me.
