It Just Gets Better And Better
Good Morning from Columbus. Just like Thanksgiving Day leftovers it just gets better and better. I know the rest of my fellow Michigan Fans that live here are looking forward to all the buckeye tears for the next year. I for one am looking forward to the local radio commentary especially on 97.1 the Fan. T Bone is particularly obnoxious. I checked his tweets( I do not follow him) and he said this is why he wants us to lose every game. I haven't been this proud to be a Michigan fan living here in a long time. How are all my fellow Wolverines who liver here feeling today?

They dont know what to do, they havent had to deal with back to back losses in over 20 years.
And that was towards the end of the Cooper era where he was losing control. Now theyre screwed like 1995 and 1996 where Cooper won all the rest of his games, and they know it. You're not getting rid of a guy who goes 11-1.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:37 AM ^
You want to talk about a spoiled fan base. You go 11-1 and you want to fire your head coach. Honestly i think they may want to take a look at their DC again. Looks like they found their version of Don Brown.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:58 AM ^
Defense didn’t help, but Day puckered up and couldn’t recover.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:38 AM ^
Cyan Day sure as hell did pucker up! Punting on those 4th and shorts in the 3rd and 4th quarters were egregious examples of puckering and not being able to grasp the situation. You're in a dog fight with one of the best teams in the nation - you either play to win, or you die. He chose to die because he didn't trust his offense to get 3 fucking yards.
Same thing with that FG - if you want to win, you have to get that TD. He gave up hoping for another shot. He chose to die.
Never change, Cyan, never change...
November 28th, 2022 at 10:25 AM ^
Cyan Day sure as hell did pucker up!
If they put a charcoal briquette up his ass at half time, he would have pooped out a diamond before the press conference.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:30 AM ^
Well, they apparently had a fake called on one of those and hiked it to the punter accidentally. If that goes to the upback it's a certain first down and likely TD. Cyan longsnapper?
November 28th, 2022 at 2:13 PM ^
amazing nickname
November 28th, 2022 at 4:51 PM ^
I love this board more and more every day!
CYAN forever!
November 28th, 2022 at 9:03 AM ^
Yeah, there is something truly sick about Ohio State fans. They want a great rivalry, but they cannot abide not winning every year. That isn’t the way great rivalries work. Harbaugh lost 5 to Ohio before winning. Often patience is the answer, but it never is the answer for Buckeyes.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:32 AM ^
Probably because it never had to be the answer for this newest generation of fans. It's just a given to them that they will go to the playoffs every year and they took it for granted
November 28th, 2022 at 10:01 AM ^
My thought exactly! However, while his D let us down against OSU, we owe a little thanks to Don Brown after the game. Mikey Sanristil Cornelius Johnson, Zinter, Mullings, and even TJ Guy who made 1st tackle of the day on kickoff are all Don Brown NE recruits.

Frank Solich says Hi!
November 28th, 2022 at 9:40 AM ^
Ryan Day, FOREVER!!!!!
If you haven't watched the video in the "Josh Pate..." thread go and do it now. I have a smile on my face that I can't get rid of.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:34 AM ^
CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR T BONE AND COMMON MAN TODAY!! Cannot wait to hear the incessant whining from them today!!
I have a couple sales calls today downtown. It would be an absolute shame to drive down high street from the north end blasting The Victors going 25MPH.
Paul owes me $150 from betting Michigan outright. Him and the office are dreading me coming in today because the crap that they have been saying. Let the smash talk begin!
It will be an absolute great day to be a Michigan Wolverine!
November 28th, 2022 at 8:36 AM ^
Things in Toledo are looking quite lovely today.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:40 AM ^
Was driving through Columbus a month or so ago and they were obnoxiously confident on 97.1.
"When we beat TTUN, do you want them to still make the playoffs so we can beat them again? Would beating them twice and winning a natty in the same season be that greatest season of all time?"
November 28th, 2022 at 8:41 AM ^
Valenti can eat a bag of dicks. Michigan "made plays". I'm sure he'll find a way to troll anyway, but I won't be listening.
EDIT: I just realized that you mean 97.1 in C'bus. Meh, my comment stands.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:46 AM ^
Michigan doesn't even have to be playing - your first sentence will still be true.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:55 AM ^
I'm sure it will be "college football stinks this year". No good teams.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:21 AM ^
He drinks his own urine because he doesn't trust Michigan water. Colors his outlook.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:43 AM ^
Another benefit: the top Edge in the 247 composite, Keon Keeley was CBd to Alabama by Blil Kurelic this morning. Keeley is a ND decommit who seemed to be down to Alabama and OSU.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:50 AM ^
I didn't realize he decommitted. I thought Mike Elston had a good relationship with him? I would think he would give Michigan a look if he passed on ND
November 28th, 2022 at 11:11 AM ^
This is another head scratcher in the recruiting landscape. Elston is primary recruiter at ND, Elston leaves for UM, Keeley decommits from ND, and reopens his recruiting. UM has the personal relationship, incredible DE success, and top 5 team for most of the season … but not a key player in the final mix. JH to the Vikings has zero impact here. Staff changes actually help UM. Add to this one recruitment the limited success for UM to stock up RBs, OL and DE given the on-field and NFL success for UM.
It just seems NIL is the biggest factor with recruiting this cycle.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:44 AM ^
This is their 62-39. Not just a loss but an upset after having supreme confidence, and now questioning their identity and future. Think how shitty you felt after getting torn apart in 2018, and questioning wtf is wrong with the program. That makes me smile
November 28th, 2022 at 10:02 AM ^
Yes, that game broke me a little bit. Amazing how the tides turn.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:34 AM ^
But going forward, let the tides be...
November 28th, 2022 at 10:18 AM ^
I legit didn't know if it would be 5 years or 10 years til we beat Ohio State after that game. If they were able to exploit a single guy on a defense that had been so stingy all year, how the hell do you stop that? We don't have 11 5*s to put on defense. We can't guarantee our 3rd CB is good enough to cover Olave or whoever. It felt so damn hopeless.
And then Jim called his brother....
November 28th, 2022 at 12:41 PM ^
2022 is 10 times worse for OSU than 2018 was for us. We were already down and just hoping that we could turn something around. When we lost, we were just at the same place we always were.
2022 for Ohio State is falling off a cliff.
They know it's all over. This is existential to them.
They convinced themselves in their conceit that 2021 was just a fluke. They would restore the natural order of the universe in 2022, at home, on a glorious sunny day.
But then after a year of "fixes" . . . they lost again even worse.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:46 AM ^
I’m more excited for Rich Eisen’s show today. It will be absolutely delicious.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:31 AM ^
If people thought he was unbearable a year ago... holy shit he's gonna turn the dial to fucking 11 today!
November 28th, 2022 at 8:47 AM ^
ex #2 is from cbus (ohio alumna....) was married to that... pos from '06 to '12. obviously her whole family, including two young sons, are huge ohio fans. i kept telling them that the pendulum swings both ways.... we had the better of them in most of the 80s and the 90s... they've had their run from 2000 on, but it would eventually swing back......
My elder, ex-step son text me Saturday congratulating us on "kicking their ass back to back" and said he never understood what I meant by 'the pendulum swinging both ways' but he does now.
Day = Cooper.... please give that MF a lifetime extension with all guaranteed $$....
Fickell must plan on going to WS and beating Day in the B1G Championship game in a year or two, so that ohio will fire Day and offer him whatever he wants to come home.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:55 AM ^
There is no way that Luke will beat THEEE ohio community college in the B1G Championship Game when WE will be the East Champion!!!
November 28th, 2022 at 9:17 AM ^
I'm not predicting that to happen.... what i said was that must be fickell's plan.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:58 AM ^
The B1G CCG in a year or two? How will the Buckeyes get there?
Now, Fickell and Wisconsin defeating the Buckeyes in either Madison, or Columbus - I can see that happening in two years.
November 28th, 2022 at 12:43 PM ^
The B1G CCG in a year or two? How will the Buckeyes get there?
Tickets. Just like the rest of us.

I live only about 20 miles from Ann Arbor, so things do not look all that different. A bit cloudy and cool, as expected for the end of November around here, but the silence from the opposing voices this morning on most media has been.....nice. It seems we really did leave a few people who like to talk utterly gobsmacked.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:34 AM ^
I miss Ann Arbor in the Fall. Chilly, but not ridiculous with leaves and some wind. I’d pay good money to get that weather year-round.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:20 AM ^
It's really been a rough couple of years for the Michigan hater nation. I find there's a lot of casual college football fans out there that tend to base their main rooting interest on being anti-Michigan, and they had been running their mouths and confident for the first five years that Harbaugh was the biggest bust coach ever. And now, the silence has been so enjoyable
November 28th, 2022 at 9:08 AM ^
I got most of my gloating out of my system on Saturday.
Went a little overboard with social media posts. I've got quite a few OSU grads/fans in my circle.
Plus, I enjoyed the fact that the posts also trolled Sparty, who ran their mouths quite a bit from 2008 until even last year. Is this a little bit of a "Little Brother" move? Absolutely, but it's been intolerable living here in SE MI and being surrounded by Sparty during their "glory years" of 2008-2015...and then listening to them with the "hur hur hur" when Harbaugh had some stumbles and struggled against MSU.
I had one Spartan fan last November trying to make the argument that Tucker was better than Harbaugh because he had a higher salary. I haven't circled back to him...because it's obviously not necessary.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:49 AM ^
I live in Lansing and was out Saturday for the games, I had to hear a lot of dumb shit. The hate / inferiority complex was running even hotter than usual after the "Tunnel 8" charges.
"I can't wait until USC and UCLA join, Michigan's done ever winning the conference."
Firstly, I have a feeling you might be disappointed by the result if Michigan and USC meet in the Playoff this year. Secondly, you want them to join to screw Michigan's chances...what do you think it does to yours? You think you're winning the conference with them around? But of course to a Sparty, that's a secondary concern to Michigan NOT winning. Hence why they'll always be Little Bro. I freely admit the height of the Dantonio era sucked, but one thing I can tell you definitely didn't happen during that was me wishing Alabama would join the Big Ten to take MSU down a peg or two lol.
"You only won because Day's teams are soft."
Well, maybe so, but he's punked Tucker's ass by 118 points over three games, so that doesn't really say much for you, does it?
November 28th, 2022 at 9:54 AM ^
What makes sparty fans worse is they always piggyback off osu. Its their 2nd favorite team and last hope for a Michigan loss.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:11 AM ^
I’m sitting here at work, early on a Monday morning after a 5 day holiday break…still have this goofy happy grin on my face. The afterglow is still strong and I love it!
I cut Mike Valenti out of my life about 8 years ago and I do NOT regret my decision. He’s so non-important to me that I don’t even care to hear him eat crow or be miserable today. I just can’t wait to listen to Sam, Ira and the whole WTKA crew.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:20 AM ^
Question, and I apologize for my lack of understanding technology. But, is there a way us Ohio Wolverines can live stream WTKA? Much rather listen to Michigan content instead of Bobby Carpenter in the morning.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:25 AM ^
Download the Audacy app. WTKA is a channel there.
I live down here in Atlanta, and this is how I listen to Sam and Ira in the morning.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:40 AM ^
Thank you so much!! I figured there was a way to do it but couldn’t figure it out.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:42 AM ^
You can also use any podcasting app and find the "Michigan Insider Podcast" there
November 28th, 2022 at 12:33 PM ^
You can watch them on youtube as well. Im in KY so thats how i keep up with all of the michigan shows. 'The voice of college football' isnt too bad either.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:08 AM ^
In his defense, he has said most of the year that the winner of The Game would win the national championship this year so I'm not sure how he would have to eat crow when he has picked Michigan to win it all.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:29 AM ^
Did the same as his treatment of half the audience is not worthy of patronage. Now he has the freedom to chase Sparty's tail down the drain. Diminishing returns befitting their stature and genealogical position.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:20 AM ^
I have always believed in taking the high road.. let the W do the talking. Living in columbus my previous job was for an official sponsor of OSU so it could have been literal career suicide speaking too loudly. Now it just feels good.
Theres an obnoxious 7 year old who rides the bus and reminds my son - one of his best friends - "Go bucks,Michigan sucks. We have the right to kick their butts" every time he sees me. This past year the kids who dont watch football (soccer and cricket fans) have quietly retorted "didnt they beat you last time?" To which he responds it was a fluke. I dont blame the kid, hes brainwashed by his dad.
Both boys were cheering so roccously in the second half, it cemented their fandom. I cant wait to see my boys say nothing when they get to the bus stop tomorrow (no school today) .. and watch him and his dad just wait for the "I told you so" to never come...
Im not crying - you are!
