How to get our mojo back

Submitted by MGoFoam on

I, too, thought playing App State again was a horrible idea, but now I understand. Dave Brandon is a genius. Not just a knows-how-to-make-a-billion-dollars genius, but a figured-out-the-secret-of-the-universe genius. The problem with Michigan Football is that, when The Horror occurred, we lost our mojo (That’s mojo, not MoJo, the dorm). We were transported into an alternate reality where things like Toledo and UMass and Akron and the BWWbowl happen. The universe is trying hard to right itself, as evidenced by things like the Capital One Bowl (Urbz/Tebow), UTL, the Sugar Bowl and last year’s ohio game, but it can’t. The only way to reset the universe is to go back to the beginning. We have to beat App State. Only then can we get our mojo back.

To me, MoJo can only mean Mosher-Jordan Hall.   I love the Gothic look (architecture buffs, feel free to correct my Gothic interpretation).  App St. can never take that away from us.

During OT especially it seems like there are midly stupid posts, really stupid posts and monumentally stupid posts.

And then there are threads like this.

Set the bar really low, and posts that are greater than monumentally dumb look ok. Its the same logic that gives us sad statements like losing to OSU is a way of "the universe trying to right itself." I think Michigan fans are at an all-time low. At least in the RR years we had hope. Right now, I don't think we have much hope.

everyone just chill out.  The guy's account is less than two weeks old and he's offering a theory as to how we can fix the situation we're in.  Don't stiffle his creativity.  Guide him...nurture him... consult him.     Oh, shit...what am I saying....

I don;t understand that logic at all. If we win the game 100-0 we still lost the game, so to speak. No matter what happens we lost to this team in 2007 in a game that will never ever ever ever ever be forgotten no matter how hard we try. In fact I guaruntee you that at certain intervals in the game, the broadcast will say "At this point in the game seven years ago, the score was ..." Scheduling this game was almost obnoxious and is simply a way to generate interest in a season opener that normally would be a team like Western or Eastern Michigan. I honestly can't wait until this game is in the rearview mirror.

I thought losing to Toledo was bottom of the barrel personally.  App State was a shocker, yes, and won't be forgotten by this generation.  Losing to Kordell Stewart was pretty bummer too.

All this game is going to do is force us to see that damned blocked FG eighty thousand times in the lead up to the game.

This is a classic lose-lose. We have nothing to gain other than a mild uptick in exposure over just playing Eastern like we should.

Right towards the end of the sick period, you take a massive shit that feels upon standing back up like you just ejected the last of the disease out of your body.

Love that feeling.
