HELLO: Carter and Ainsley (CO 2031)
Two (hopefully) deep sleeper recruits to report here:
Carter Lee Nimmo, weighing 6 pounds, 2 ounces and measuring 19 inches was born a Michigan Man Wednesday morning in Columbus, Ohio. Despite a zero inch vertical leap, apparently strong lungs, he is already showing remarkably strong hands. He does seem to have a predisposition against the cold, which he will have to learn to deal with. He has lost a little over 10% of his body weight, but is on a regimented plan to put on additional weight.
Ainsley Mattox Nimmo, born just 3 minutes after Carter has apparently spent time in the gym since her last measurement. Weighing 6 pounds 6 ounces, she has grown to 18 inches. She too is now on a plan to add additional weight before leaving the hospital. Not the vocal leader Carter is, she leads by example and is clearly an example of a wolverine woman.
Their father is so proud, and is incredibly anticipatory of a scholarship offer for the 2031 tennis team. We all know that hello posts come in pairs!! Father plans to prepare them by daily readings from MGoBlog, and a conceted effort to avoid the inevitable brainwashing of the million plus people around them.
In a show of support for her husband, their mother worked around the clock to finish their hats in time for the HELLO post; Unfortunately neither mother nor father were prepared for the chaos of National Signing Day. 2 days later, and a total of 4 hours of sleep, please excuse any malformed grammar or spelling.

Solid APGARs, especially because nurses always underrate midwest recruits.
Congratulations, and best of luck. I've been told sleep comes eventually.

Plenty of good Carter's out there - from the guy who wrestled sharks in Deep Blue Sea to President Jimmy Carter. More so the latter.
I've met he and the former first lady on a few Habitat For Humanity builds, and spent a day working side by side with Rosalyn in Compton. Politics aside, they are great people, and their work across the globe is an inspiration to me.

Ainsley, huh?
West Wing fan?

Never watched an episode. The wife and I went through thousands of girl names and eliminated almost every one possible. We are one of the last of our friends to have kids, so alot of names were already taken by friends and family.
We found a website that allowed us to plug in names we liked, and it generated simlar names. It suggested Ainsley, and we both fell in love with it. We had contemplated Avery, but thought it might be too common for our tastes. If Carer had been a girl, he would have been Avery.

The selection here in Columbus sucks, so I actually had to custom make those onesies. The wife worked for hours while on bed rest to make the hats.
Seth picked me up a cute set of onesies when he came down for The Game, but at 6 pounds they don't quite fit. I thought about later doing a post to see if anyone had hand-me-downs they'd want to put back into circulation..

in the River Valley Mall that has some nice Michigan things but your right for the most part it is tough to find anything that doesn't make you nauseous here in cbus.

to celebrate with you vicariously. Originally came from a gift I ordered for a niece's birth, and since I was a newbie on the blog myself... But you've already learned the trickiness of getting the right fit for babies, and in my niece's case they were too small by the time the box was opened. (Feet grow quickly. I think the originals of my avatar were hung on the baby's crib as decor.)
The hats are perfect. Besides being gorgeous, they'll grow with the adorable little heads. (My esteemed but long retired professor of costume history and design would salute your wife's creativity in the color reversal.)

My wife is currently 20 weeks with twins (boy and girl as well). We live in Toledo so ours won't grow up in such hostile territory.

hit me up in a few months if you want any thoughts from someone going through it..
February 9th, 2013 at 12:37 AM ^
but it isn't safe by any means. In a grade school in one of the Toledo 'burbs, I bet a nun, the school principal, on the game for two years running back in the mid-70's. I could see the 'primised land' from the gradeschool/jr high it was so close to the border. just don't get to comfortable in the metro-toledo.
good luck with the upcoming bundles of joy.

I ordered 2 navy blue rabbit onesies and then bought the yellow iron-ons at walmart. It was easier than in looks. I probably violated some copyright by putting a block M on the back? I doubt they will come after me for a single/double offense.

but couldn't you have bought the maize iron-ons from some store other than WalMart, such as Meijer, or maybe from a fabric or craft store such as Joanne's or Michaels?
You should know the potential negative ramifications of any mention of "WalMart" when posting, writing, or speaking of our beloved Wolverines, as enemy fans will use it against you. Please refrain from this day forward from telling anyone else where the iron-ons came from!

Went to Joanne's to get the fabric for the hats the wife made. The only yellow iron on letters that were in stock had white outlines, and the M more resembled a Minnesota M.
I even tried to buy them online, but the best I could find was on etcy for 8.99 with like 8-10 days shipping. I googled the same product, and walmart had them in stock.
I get what you are saying, but I am way too much of a fair market capitalist to go out of the way to pay more for exactly what I wanted.
I posted the link in case anyone else wanted to try their hand at something similar.

Congratulations! My daughter & son (2.5 and 0.5 yrs old) are absolutely fantastic. They'll test you in many ways but every second is worth it.
Little parenting tip I've picked up from others: one of the best things you can do for your kids is to love their mommy & if she contributed all those hours to that Wolverine-awesomeness they are wearing then she must be quite the woman!
