I had to wait until the public sale this AM. It said sold out at 9:15 but I refreshed a few times and then got two tickets.

This is just terrible, terrible news. May his memory be a blessing.

Thank you for the update on surgery. If you are able, please keep us updated on his progress!

Fuck cancer.  Fuck, fuck,…

Fuck cancer.  Fuck, fuck, fuck cancer.  And yeah, go fuck yourself, lung cancer.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer this past December 15 and she died January 26. She was the one who made me an insane Michigan fan and I miss her so much every day it hurts.

I am so sorry for what your father-in-law, you and your wife, and her family are all going through. I’ll say an extra prayer for you tonight.

We have the largest stadium in the US and they can’t find a way to hold at least one in person graduation ceremony?  NFL teams can safely have fans at games but U of M can’t figure this out?  That’s such a shame for the graduates who have had their college careers disrupted in such a major way.  Yes, Covid is serious and I don’t mean to diminish that, but a virtual ceremony is exciting to no one.

Thank you all so much for…

Thank you all so much for your kind posts.  They made me smile on a day when not much can.

I’m so sorry.  Hopefully it responds to treatment.  They’re making a lot of progress in this area.

Thank you. I appreciate it.

Lost my mom to the same cancer last Tuesday.  She was officially diagnosed on December 14 and I’m in shock how quickly everything happened.  It’s a brutal disease.

My mom was the one who taught me to be a crazy Michigan fan. No one loved Michigan more than my mom.  I like to imagine she’s up giving Bo an earful right now.

I’m so, so sorry. I lost my dad two years ago. I told someone at the time it felt like I was joining a club that no one wanted to be a member of.  My advice after my experience and watching my husband lose his dad to cancer...  Let yourself really grieve and feel sad.  Do it in a room alone if you don’t want others to see you but stifling it won’t make the pain go away. Don’t feel like you have to put on a brave face or act a certain way.  Eventually it won’t hurt as much but you have to get through the worst before that happens.

The other benefit to a waiting period for posts after setting up an account is it might stop some of the hot take/meltdown/troll threads after a loss.  They make this place unbearable.

If a waiting period isn’t possible, increase the threshold as others have said.

I would go bc I agree with others who said he may feel it is an imposition and didn’t want to ask, but respect that he may not want to see you when you are there and that’s ok.  If that is the case, you can be helpful - offer to help the family with anything they need.

I’m really sorry, Wendyk5 - for your friend and for you.  Leukemia claimed my sweet father in law and our dear cousin at 41.  Cancer can just f off.

I can confirm jdon is awesome and indeed sent the posters last year.  He is genuine and a really nice guy who is just trying to do something nice for fellow fans.

I was an early subscriber…

I was an early subscriber and love it.  They have a great roster of writers and they cover really interesting angles, not just the usual fluff pieces.  The Michigan coverage in particular has been excellent and Faux Pelini does a regular advice column that is awesome.

Wow - sorry that you were…

Wow - sorry that you were involved in a rotten project previously and it clearly left you pretty burned.  Just to be clear, though, when you say your experience was 'likely' not with the same group, I'm going to go ahead and say definitely not based on your description.  My organization is 22 years old, has literally built thousands of playgrounds across North America in that time, and has a stellar reputation that we work hard to earn and uphold.  We're a four star impact charity on Charity Navigator and have earned numerous awards for our impact in communities and strong financial management.  We carefully screen every group that we work with to ensure they understand the commitment they are making to the project and what their obligations are.  You should take a few minutes to visit the website I included in the OP to learn more about us.   Or better yet, come out on July 27 and see it for yourself.

We work really hard to make an impact in the lives of children who get very few opportunities to experience 'normal' childhoods.  It's a shame that whatever happened to you previously has left you so cynical that you would feel compelled to post that kind of reply to a positive request for volunteers to build a playground for kids in Flint.   If you ever want to come out to one of our projects, though, let me know!

Awesome!  (That you know the…

Awesome!  (That you know the school, not that you moved after the original playground was installed.  That sucks.)

+Relatively low cost of living.  Housing in and around Syracuse is affordable.

+Great schools.  Many of the Syracuse City School District schools are questionable but in the suburbs there are many good districts.

+Proximity to Syracuse University.  Kind of an uninspired campus area but we have football and basketball season tickets.  The football is usually pretty bad but you do see an occasional upset.

+Winter sports.  If you like them, this is a great place to live.  It’s also beautiful during the few weeks we experience spring, summer and fall.

+It’s only 7ish hours to Ann Arbor, which means we get back there for at least a couple football and basketball games each year.

CONS

+It snows all the freaking time. We got snow on April 29 this year.  April 29.  Winter lasts 48 weeks*.  (*That is an estimate.)

+SU is very bad at football.

+My mother-in-law lives 6 minutes away.

+The few restaurants we have close at 9:00 during the week.

I read the article. Doesn’t

I read the article. Doesn’t really have new information and seems like Quinn is just looking for an angle to keep the story alive right now while we wait for an outcome. Doesn’t mean Beilein isn’t considering the job but this article doesn’t present any compelling insider knowledge.

I actually agree with this.

I actually agree with this.  Not for me - I think it's creepy for adults to try to mingle with the players - BUT as a parent of two young kids who live and die for the team, it would be nice to have a way for them to interact with the players.  My kids belong to the Kids Club and last year we were able to go down on the field after the spring game.  I would say about 25 players stayed out to meet with the kids and pose for pictures.  It was awesome and I wish they would find more ways for that kind of thing to happen.  We've waited around at the stadium after games but it's a mess and the autograph hounds push the kids out of the way when players come out.

This isn't something I'm writing to Warde about but since the topic was raised, I will agree with the OP.

Great news! Hopefully you will be able to sleep tonight with the surgery behind her. I am sure this has been agonizing. We’ll keep your family in our prayers.

I think the fact Warde

I think the fact Warde mentioned the assistant coaches is the most important. They need the raises and contract extensions to keep them here when other programs come calling. I’m glad he’s focused on that, too.

This team has been on the cusp of breaking through for a while. Great to see OSU defeated...at home no less!

Part of me thinks this is

Part of me thinks this is cool and spontaneious but it also reminds me of Jeff Brohm inexplicably throwing a chair in his pregame speech before they played us.

This is how I used to picture Harbaugh acting with the team when the cameras weren't around but after this season he just seems too mellow to do something like this.

It is shocking to me how

It is shocking to me how little attention this horrific story is getting nationally.  And it's allowing MSU to continue to stonewall locally and try to pretend everything is okay.

I understand he isn’t going to say anything groundbreaking but where was the fire? I wanted to see him pissed off, fired up, maybe vowing to make the changes necessary to win, not meek and blah.

Me? Nope. I wanted to hear other fans’ thoughts on how we can get better - exactly what I said in my post. My way of getting past a loss is to think about what needs to improve. I prefer that to just saying nasty things, but I see that not everyone feels that way.

Woah- I seriously don’t.

Woah- I seriously don’t. That’s why I came to the boards. And I legitimately don’t understand threads like this.

Esterhaus, If being a jerk to me makes you feel better about the game, go ahead.

Serious question. If you

Serious question. If you fire Harbaugh, who do you get instead? I don’t agree with firing him (Drevno is another story) but I’m honestly wondering who people think would be a better replacement.
