| 4 days 14 hours ago | Getting caught is the issue |
No one that has a brain should be surprised that college kids are drinking, people are shocked by how often the ND players are getting caught. I don't care that these kids are drinking, hell i drank all through college and i am sure most of us did. The point is i never got caught because i wasn't an idiot about it. Like hart said, these kids either have very bad luck or are using poor judgement when it comes to where they are drinking. |
| 4 days 15 hours ago | B1G need to expand???? |
I understand that most of us don't want the B1G to expand, jus the talent level wouldn't be the same. My question is, if these superconferences do start, does the B1G really need to expand? My point is that the Big 12, Pac 12 and SEC would all be absorbing shools of less talent as well, but if the B1G was to not expand wouldn't that essentially mean that the talent of the B1G would be superior to that of the remaining conferences. I am sure that someone has thought of a reason as to why this won't happen. Or (i have seen others post similar ideas) what if each of the super conferences only add two teams and allow the teams that weren't picked (kind of like tha last kid at recess) go down to a lower level of athletics. One example being Boston College, they are not really good at anything but Hockey, and NCAA hockey is followed only by those schools who are good so a very limited viewer base. |

i doubt the schoos, would agree to it. I would think that the conference and schools would want to see a blend of new and old B1G schools (or whatever it would be called). Maryland would want to be able to host Michigan or Ohio more than once every 6 years or whatever it would be. Also, i doubt Michigan would want to travel to Maryland every 6 years. I agree with everything everyone else is saying, this would just be a bad idea to have 4 superconferences. I like the idea of the B1G being 12 teams, it is just the right size. |

No i understand the Michigan Brand (also not trying to sound like an ass) but the point i am making is a uniform doesn't matter for the Brand. The Brand is much more than that. The Brand should be about what Michigan football is all about and that is The Team and winning the B1G Championship. A uniform is a part of the appearance of the Brand, it won't define the Brand but it will appeal people/players to the Brand. I think everyone is mostly on the same page when it comes to this, but the disagreement is arising from the idea if Michigan should following suit and continue to shell out these alternate uniforms to bring more appeal. Again, the appeal doesn't help or hurt the Michigan Brand, that is set in stone, but the appeal can attract more to teh Brand. Sorry if this makes no sense.

I play in a lacrosse league, which is also a non-body checking league, and we have strict rules about this type of shit. If we have anyone that is playing dirty or head hunting, we give them one warning and the next time it happens they are kicked out of the league. Worst part for them is that it is the same group of guys that play in teh indoor and outdoor league so they prety much get banned for lacrosse in the area. We have not had any issues so far (only 2 seasons in) but it is known right up front that it is a non-body checking league. We are still plenty physical with slashes and body defense but the big hits don't happen. I know that this doesn't directly answer the question, but i think whoever runs the league needs to make it 100% clear about the no checking aspect. Like people said above, everyone has to get up and go to work the next morning. |

But wouldn't you agree that the Michigan and B1G brand have been tarnished over the last few years. Michigan brand is obviously on the rise due to the great job Hoke and the staff are doing, but the B1G as a whole are using alternate uniforms. Like Brandon said, the student-athletes are the ones that enjoy them. To be honest they are the ones that matter, without them there is no Michigan brand, it doesn't matter what you think, i think or anyone (outside of large boosters) thinks except the student athletes. Don't get me wrong i hate all of the alternate uniforms, i wish we had two uniforms, with an occasional UTL type occasion with an alternate. But the point i was making is that if Michigan can use alternates to regain the respect of the football world then eventually the product on the field will outweight whatever stupid alternate uniform the team is wearing. |

Is that we win. I may hate the uniform we are wearing, but if we win then who cares? |
| 1 week 2 days ago | Ohio Game |
I was sitting in the Ohio fan section at this past years Game (mom got tickets through work) and to see the look on all of the Ohio fan's faces after the INT was great. They talked shit all game and they were dead silent following that, as i was screaming at the top of my lungs. It was such a large relief, knowing i wouldn't have to spend another year of being bashed by Ohio fans (I live in Ohio by the way). Maybe the happiest moment i have ever had in Michigan Stadium. On the other side of emotion was The Horror. I took my dad to that game expecting him to see a great Michigan dominat win, but he said the look in my face following the blocked FG was just pure shock and frustration. I drank very heavily that night. The same can be said about the Toledo loss, being that i live i the Toledo area. |
| 1 week 4 days ago | Better locations |
I agree as long as it is good hockey it is great. However, i am sorry PHX doesn't need an NHl team. Same goes for Florida, there is no need for that state to have two teams. THere are better locations that would support the teams more and then we wouldn't have issues like PHX. I like the idea of dropping down to 24 teams just so the league would be even stronger in terms of players, there wouldn't be a handful of AHL players on each team. |
| 1 week 5 days ago | Sounds like me |
I was born and raised in Toledo and most of the area is split 50/50 on Michigan and Ohio. My family were all huge Ohio fans, except my Dad who doesn't really care too much about sports, but Ohio was engrained into my brain since day one. My Grandparents and Mom still have photos of me wearing an Ohio jacket. I was in second grade and i remember my best friend was a Michigan fan and i decided i was going to be a Michigan fan too. The weird thing is that my family bought me all of this Michigan stuff for my birthday and Christmas instead of trying to "save" me. I would think today if i would have made the change they wouldn't have done the same. Anyways, today i hate Ohio with every ounce of my body; so holidays and gatherings are always fun, epecially during football season. |
