I have a feeling these are

I have a feeling these are the types of games we are gong to get more often than not.  A game against a decent, not marquee, opponent in an area of the country with a fair number of alums.  If we have to do a home/home might as well make it where we can have a solid fan base and agaisnt a team that we, on paper, should beat.

And I am that guy...

Is it possible to get a * or something to denote commit v target?  I know it helps me more as a visual guy make mental groupings

Call it the BOat

Call it the BOat

Amadu Ba...if anyone can make Amadu Ba...if anyone can make a gif of his pancake of the fan pregame against state you will be my hero.

Blanchard was great too. I remember running into him at the IM building 3 years ago where he went to play pick up ball in the summer. Pretty sure I was one of like 4 people to recognize him as a former michigan stud
It would be kind of nice to

It would be kind of nice to get Bo a few NC...even if it is a shady way to do it

Not saying Michigan should do

Not saying Michigan should do this, but isn't there a few more NC we could add if we did this too?  I don't know the years but I think there are 2-4 more years we were recognized as the NC by various polls that we do not recognize currently.  Anyone know the years?

With the World Cup happening,

With the World Cup happening, I would be shocked if Roony, RVP, CR, Sergio Ramos, etc particpate in any sort of training or games until they get back to friendlies in Europe.  That being said, there is still extreme quality on both sides that will be there...and its always fun to see guys battle for spots on the first team and the academy kids get their shot

Holy shit this is awsome.  I

Holy shit this is awsome.  I dont even care that its an exhibition match and a majority of the best players may still be on break after the World Cup.  Any chance to see these two great clubs is a must.  So glad I do not have to travel to DC or LA like in previous years.  Hala Madrid!

I previously taught at inner

I previously taught at inner city public school and the statistics cited in the article are unsuprising.  The students I taught were an average 3rd/4th grade reading level as juniors and had single digits/low teens on the ACT.  With so many NCAA atheletes, especially football and basketball, coming from impovershed inner cities, this is the type of student that is getting admitted.  These kids meet the NCAA regulations mainly based on grade inflation in HS due to the schools fear of failure and trying to look good.  I would be in favor of a manditory redshirt year where student-athetes learn how to be students before athletes if they fall in certain academic criteria.  This way students that are academically capable can be eligable as freshmen, but those in need of help can shift their focus away from the field/court/pitch/pool/etc and towards their education

Of course its the economy.

Recruits get a larger signing bonus at schools down south where the boosters have high paying jobs...

There was no where to post this along with my answers...

Last year I taught High School History in Detroit Public Schools.  While it was quite obvious reading was a major problem (11th grade students reading at an average of 3rd grade), there was very little I could do about it.  It really takes a ground up approach with learning reading strategies/vocab/techniques/etc from a young age and at home with thier parents.  By the time they are in high school, you can try to play catch up, but it is next to impossible.  This is one of the extreme cases.

Nothing bough for me but...

I found my 1999-2000 Michigan basketball jersey in my old dresser and it still fits.  The perks of being husky in my youth.

Placing the blame on one

Placing the blame on one individual, player or coach, is always impossible.  A missed field goal, a nearly tipped/intercepted pass, a near first down spot (I think they still got the review wrong), a miss thrown pass, a missed tackle, miss block, a bad play call, etc all contributed to the loss.  We simply need to take this as a learning experience and grow from it.  Also, I agree about a level of maturity on the board.  I avoided reading the blog for days after the loss so I didnt have to hear all the negativity/profanity.  Football is a game, not life or death.  Enjoy it, root on your team, root for the health/saftey of everyone, quietly sulk for a few hours after a loss and appreciate a good game of football

well beating a live horse is

well beating a live horse is animal cruelity and that is just wrong...

Idk about the rule but Idk about the rule but because he missed the kick it resulted in a negative fantasy point for my kicker. I'm going to be extremely pissed if I lose because of a missed 71 yard kick
Also Akron...we at least won Also Akron...we at least won
Oh I know there is about a Oh I know there is about a zero percent chance this happens. Except for maybe the ricin on the old business people. I honestly think Walt might kill skyler and take the baby.
Walt will use the Machine

Walt will use the Machine Guns to kill the Nazis (except Todd who Jesse will kill), free Jesse who will save the kid, and give Jesse one of the barrels the Nazis took to live off of for the rest of his life.  Walt will kill the Gray Matter people with Ricin and explain how he built that just like he built his meth empire while he watches them slowly die.  Then he will try to meet up with his wife and kids but just ends up watching them creeply and leaving them the money before he walks away without contacting them.  Show ends with him putting on his Heizenberg hat and walking into a sunset

Devils advocate...why run a Devils advocate...why run a sneak behind him then? The first games Schofield and lewan were partnered on unbalanced. I'd rather run behind my all American and take my chances my end gets a kickout then let him get blown back by a d tackle like whya happened in the fumble.
Practice reps are different Practice reps are different than game reps...especially when teams change fronts or stunts they have never seen before. It will get better trust me. Devin also needs to get less happy feet. He is to quick to vacate the pocket at times causing protection to break down. I agree they should have better protection but there is no substitute for game reps
Doomsday much? When 3/5 of Doomsday much? When 3/5 of your Oline had zero career starts before this year there will be growing pains. Look at our depth chart... He doesn't have the seniors or juniors to play so while we have 4/5 star recruits they have as much college football experience as you do.
When going unbalanced, why When going unbalanced, why has it changed from Schofield and lewan in the left to magnuson and lewan? Also why move lewan out to the tight end instead of having him at tackle and magnuson at end? I highly doubt Schofield or lewan would have been blown back like magnuson on the sneak.

How has green progressed in pass protection? Is that one of the main problems preventing him from getting in the game?

Is having deleo as returner on punts die to his hands and experience?

What's the advantage of having the back up quarterbacks simply listening to the the play calls as opposed to signaling in the plays? Is this a way to simplify the gameplay without confusion for freshmen quarterbacks? Is it a way to help with mental reps?

Will the five points of pressure be an emphasis in the future with devin while he runs?

Just playing devils

Just playing devils advocate...did you have a job or have your parents give you some support?  Most athletes do not have the time to work part time, and a good portion come from an economiccally disadvantaged background.  I agree on the economics lessons though...probably something that should be given to nearly all students.

A lot of players live further

A lot of players live further away from campus (past Yost, down by Briarwood, etc) and have multiple roommates (ie rent a house with other athletes) to be able to afford housing.  Most also, or at least they did, have a bridge card for additional food money.  Finally, I know the football team has dinners provided to them during the season.  When I worked for the university housing department they would bring us the the left over steak and good food the football team wouldnt eat.

With all of this said, I think most would still need a job/some extra money to be able to afford eatting out, new video games, shoes, etc that many of their classmates have.  It would be hard being an athlete coming from a higher poverty area and seeing your classmates having new everything because their parents are rich...you are doing something for hte univeristy while they are just living on their parents dime.

I think  it is a combo of

I think  it is a combo of things.  There havent been many noon games the last few years so eventhough historically noon has been the time, it is not what students are trained for.  Noon games are easier to get to when its a big ten team or a bigger game. I think the big one is this though...the new GA policy puts all the empty seats in one block rather than what it was a few years ago where there were pockets of empty/rows looked fuller but were not squeezed in.  I know when I was a student I would start off with extra room, be cramped from the mid 1st until half, then have more room after halftime.  Now late students cant fill in rows and are forced to be in the empty blocks up top

people on the interwebs be

people on the interwebs be angry.  Students historically do not show up at game time for noon games and/or crappy games.  With the game being during the first real weekend of classes and being on a Jewish holiday, its logical that some students wouldnt show up.  Would it be nice to see the student section over flowing like at ND-YES.  Is that an unreasonable expectation-YES.  It is what it is

Remembering a 1 am burger

Remembering a 1 am burger from a place with a big chested girl holding a beer while riding a hamburger and forgetting the name of one of the nicest and best restaurants in Ann Arbor in the Gandy Dancer...sounds about right.

And what he should have done was get a shake from Bobs, hoagie from Spots, and fries w/sauce from Quickie

Speaking from experience...

the mobile app is great to organize posts and provides perfect reading material for you know what.  Just make sure you dont take too long and read every post otherwise people start to wonder

My knees and joints say...

Be prepared for rain because if you don't, it will rain....BUT if you bring a poncho and are prepared, it will not rain.  My joints and knees are bad at this weather stuff

Hes perfecting a new 3 pointer

New shooting technique...jump from beyond the 3 point line and then dunk it

I guess since he is in town

I guess since he is in town he won't have to have Spots deliver to his hotel in Detroit like hes done in the past

I have my #69 nike jersey

I have my #69 nike jersey that I got at the AD garage sale a few years ago or my Desmond Howard #21.  This will be my first year having non student season tickets so Ill have to make my decision on shirt depending on who is around my seats...#69 isnt ideal to explain to kids since it isnt Denard's old number or Devin's number now

Thanks.  It's sad/hard to

Thanks.  It's sad/hard to believe in the past decade only 2 tackles have been drafted

Had a few classes with Mike

Had a few classes with Mike in college...great guy.  It's nice to see him get some press.  Hopefully he can continue to improve and end up getting drafted next year.  Does anyone know the last time Michigan had two tackles both get drafted in the same year?

As a recent graduate...

I know those pregames are right along Hill Street by Ross.  Any fraternity pregame will be easy to find drunk girls like that...Ive actually seem them give away tickets which is crazy

I guess the athletic

I guess the athletic department might have jumped the gun by making the student section smaller.  If you cannot get off the waitlist, I suggest finding a drunk undergrad who would rather nap or continue drinking instead.  Also congrats and welcome to the Michigan family

Who has 2 job interviews on

Who has 2 job interviews on Monday...this guy.  It looks like this will be a busy weekend of prep.

A barbershop...really?  I claim violation simply because I am jealous they dont have to pay $15 every 5 weeks for a trim.

925 State Street

I was told by my landlord that my old house was rented by a bunch of Rick Leach's offensive linemen.  I guess they would shake the whole house and had some pretty awesome parties. Also we were the "'U Honk We Drink' on the porch of a State St flophouse" house after the football games.

that dog barked at him first.  Not his fault.

Red at 9 even though he has

Red at 9 even though he has had one bad year in the last 20+.  This is a joke right?

It wont be the champions league final but still worth it

Chances are the European clubs will be resting their normal starting eleven that were involved in the Confederations Cup or are big names that they dont want to risk injury.  So for Real you would not probably see many of the Spanish national team or CR7 for more than maybe 45 mins.  That being said when I went and saw Real a few years ago in DC, the quality of play was still very high-they would not want to risk a loss to an American team

this means a number change right?

With the NFL having certain number for various positions, it only seems fitting that every OW in the NFL wear 16.

Denard will be remembered for things more than being a QB

I thought the article was fitting.  Denard was a constant sparkle of hope during the darkest years of Michigan football in recent history.  He was someone that nearly everyone wished they were...the quarterback for the University of Michigan who enjoyed college to the max and was a great person.  Will he be remembered for his quarterbacking ability? No.  Does that matter? Not really.  Denard was more than just a quarterback and that is how he will be remembered.  He was imperfectly perfect and gave us moments/experiences that will stick with us years from now.

In 30 years when I am telling my kids about my favorite Michigan players Denard will be mentioned.  I will tell them about how every time he touched the ball I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what will happen. I will tell them about his smile and love of the game. I will tell them about his shoelaces. I will tell them about seeing him at Wndys in the Union and at the Maize Rage being a genuine person who just loved the college experience.  I will tell them about how in the UTL game had one of the greatest single game preformances in Michigan history.

Double Post Fail

No worries.  6 am reading has never been one of my strong suits. I should have read more carefully and made sure I understood everything; however, I still maintain that a large majority of students will be impacted zero by the price increase.
