CFB Week Three Schedule - is there anything beside Michigan worth watching?

Submitted by Amazinblu on September 13th, 2023 at 5:04 PM

Week three of the season is upon us and this week's schedule may actually be less compelling than the firs two weeks.   Who will you be watching / following?   Any games of particular interest?   Anything you're looking forward to seeing?

There are a number of B1G vs ACC games on the schedule - which is interesting.

Michigan hosts Bowling Green for a 7:30 pm kickoff on BTN

Tennessee travels to Florida - it could be the Joe Milton show

Minnesota travels to North Carolina - how far can the boat be rowed?

Ohio State hosts Western Kentucky before their matchup against ND next weekend

Bama travels to USF

Penn State goes to Illinois

Washington travels to East Lansing for Dantonio's return to the staff

Colorado and Coach Prime face Colorado State and the Buffs should move to 3-0 on the season.

Northern Illinois plays at Nebraska as the Huskers try to avoid an 0-3 start for Ruhle

Any other games of interest?

For two weeks in a row, a Penix will be MSU's worst nightmare.

MSU historically cannot keep Penix in the pocket.

Too bad Mel isn't there for this game, word is he now really has a grasp on how to handle Penix.

The defense better be ready because with Penix  you're in trouble if you just phone it in.

Maybe Dantonio can install a couple wrinkles for Penix. We know Mel couldn't keep Penix from spraying it around.

(ok, I'm done for a while)

watching penix jr shred sparty should be fun.  couch burning warning in effect in EL.  it is one of the worst line up of games I can remember.  that said, always worth score board watching in cfb on saturday.

false. not a lot of top 25 teams playing each other but we don’t really know who the top 25 teams are 2 weeks into the year. On top of already named games ….

LSU v Miss St

IU v Louisville (rivalry games are always fun)

Backyard Brawl

Rocky Mountain Showdown (for the Centennial Cup)

Rutgers hosting VT can give us a sense of how good RU is, likewise friday night Maryland host UVA and can do the same
Before the season I was excited about PSU-Illinois. Less so now, but still probablly the best competition Allar has faced, and on the road.
I think most of us expect Washington to steamroll Sparty, but we'll get a good sense of each team there
UGA gets their first conference game against a decent SCAR
Backyard Brawl is the ABC primetime game, Cuse @Purdue was fun last year and is NBC's "B10 Sat Night" game.

But yea, relatively slim pickings but I'm sure something crazy will happen that will change our thoughts on the season.
