Best looking spots on Campus

What hands down are the best looking spots on campus? My personal favorite: Walking into the law quad through the arch nearest to the grad library in late fall just after dark with the library all aglow.

the hill in the arb on a snow covered day sledding/"traying" on your dinner tray. didn't do it much after freshman year, but what a great memory. always loved the arb in any weather. took my dog there all the time- i've never seen a place so loved by an animal.

I to have a soft spot in my heart for the scenery around the Michigan League, looking back down toward the Grad library. Like Wolverine In Exile, I to got married there, so I am sure that is part of it. The fact you were a quick trip to Ashley's from there for a quick pint of something tasty did not hurt my impression of the place either. I also always enjoyed coming in toward the Diag from the engineering arch on a warm summer day. That is when you would look around and ask yourself, "Were these girls here in the winter?"

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I have been reading the boards for a few months, but finally had to jump in on this thread. Reminds me of many reasons why I loved going to the school so much. Seems like a good chunk of the married folks here got hitched at the League.

Go walk the track at Ferry Field. As you walk down the backstretch, the beautiful architecture surrounds you. IM Building on your right. Fischer Stadium on your left. Yost Arena on your back left. Michigan Stadium newly constructed archways behind Fischer and the Indoor Track Building (which is nasty but, hey, you're looking at the Stadium anyway). Best combination of sports and architecture I've ever seen in one location. Bonus: You are walking where Fielding Yost won national championships and where Jesse Owens set four world records on one day.

This thread is making me misty-eyed. One of my favorite spots is the Martha Cook garden/field in front of Lorch. During the winter, I'd hurry to my Econ classes and the combination of the warm lights in Lorch, the snowed over Martha Cook field and that statue in the corner just warmed my day. Damn, why did I graduate so early?

Yost. That place was like my mecca. Season tickets all four years, you can just feel the energy in there. Most special place in all the world. Hell, as we all know, anywhere in A2 or on campus is a treat.

The view of Ann Arbor from the top row of the North endzone in Michigan Stadium is spectacular, with Burton Tower rising in the distance. Damn, is it September 2010 yet?

1) Michigan Stadium turf after clinching a Rose Bowl bid. 2) Alumni Field grass after clinching a Women's College World Series bid. * Besides the Law Quad, of course.

As a person who never got to attend U of M I was hoping there would be more pictures. My Uncle went to UoM back in the 70's and often talks about how he loved the experience. He attended all the FB games while there and still makes me jealous with his stories of the Big House. My brother and I are hoping to make the 2000 mile journey for the OSU game in '11 and I absolutely can not wait to step foot in AA.......Only thing I am scared of is the prospect that I will never want to leave.

I won the foursome @ UM Golf Course in the Pat Malloy Scholarship auction. I'm bringing my son over next summer, along with two good buddies who happen to be 'Domers and have never been to AA. So I'm cc'ing this thread and will use all your suggestions to build our campus tour. Thanks everybody! PS: My sister and bro-in-law had their wedding reception inside the Law Quad (he's a Purdue undergrad, Michigan Law grad). It was beyond spectacular. Go Blue!

Looking at Ann Arbor from the 18th Tee on the golf course at sunset. (I know it's been said but that is something you have to see) Looking out over the diag from the 4th floor of the Randall Lab building.

I'll add to a theme from a few others in this thread. Inside Michigan Stadium. Any seat. On a cool autumn day. Watching a defeated, weeping osu team limp off the field. There is no better view.

I graduated in 1997 and my wife (also class of 97) and I moved back to Ann Arbor a year and a half ago. We got married at the League in 2004. All these places are intertwined with such positive energy and history. God I love this place.

There's a spot along Fuller Road, where the softball fields are, where you can look to the south across the Huron and see the University Hospital, Taubman Center etc, which I think is stunning. I like to imagine the medical breakthroughs, revolutionary treatments, and what-not happening at UMHS - all those doctors, nurses, and support staff making the "Michigan Difference" for their patients. As a bonus, right now you can watch the ongoing construction of the new Mott, which is really starting to look great.

When I was in law school I lived in Northwood V (which is the awesomest place on campus to live while married). The bus would come after a night of drinking to pull me to the 8:40 am class. I would have my head on the window past the auto center and the phama center (which M now owns) then we would pass the air research and get up the reactor (which ran back then). I would start getting pumped. Then past the north campus bell tower and the always awesome display outside the architecture, then turn the corner. Off across the valley would be the white shinning city on the hill. The U of M Hospitals! Wow. It almost made up for riding the other way on the 2:20am bus coming back from ashleys 6 hours before.

During the summer or fall, the view from some of the offices in the UM hospital facing the arb is pretty awesome. This view can be enjoyed at varied degree's depending on why you are in one of those offices/rooms.
