the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

... from page D1 of today's New York Times:
It would take a lot of Pulitzer Prize-level research to determine the sports nickname of the University of Michigan. That said, I have it on good authority that the main use of the New York Times along the banks of the Red Cedar is as kindling for front-porch couches. |

... I see tOSU game differently: uber-Rival, C-Bus, spitting Grannies in tank tops and tats. While the Hoosiers have a legacy in basketball, I think our young guns think of Indiana as a mid-major otherwise. I have a hunch that Stauskas will be doing this at least 5 times: In a dark jersey... Tom Crean will be checking his watch to see if he'll make the flight to NOLA to watch one of his wife's brothers lose to the other. All signs point to Wolverines. Epic win. Go Blue!

Ace: 1. I really like your passion and creativity. 2. It's "tenets" unless you are actually living at Welsh-Ryan. 3. I honestly found the use of the term "Massacre" in the title and the related violent metaphors used throughout your post off-putting. Particularly in light of recent events. Go Blue... Sven DM

Swarbrick hands the termination letter to Brandon on the field before the game. Sort of a dick move if you ask me. Hopefully Brandon asked him how the Irish practice video lifts are holding up this year.

... two cheers for the OP's effort. It's always timely to thrash ND. And BK is a big target. Emphasis on "BIG":
The best part of all this is that BK may be the nail in the coffin for ND ever joining the B1G. And to that I say... AMEN!

... Madonna may have worked at the BF, but I remember her serving at Miller's Ice Cream circa 1976-77. That is confirmed here: http://madonnaquotes.weebly.com/college.html She was definitely remarkable then. I'll leave it at that.

| 1 year 20 weeks ago | Great Job by JUB... |
... he even got in a jab against the NCAA "violations" when compared to the other, more infamous ones since then. The Sklars actually read the book. JUB also mentioned how Michigan probably got the right coach, even though Les Miles has the #1 ranked college team and Jim Harbaugh is likely the NFL coach of the year. All in all, a good segment on the book and THE TEAM, THE TEAM, THE TEAM...

You must have never seen "Cheap Seats" on ESPN back-in-the-day. The Sklars dished Savage sports irony before the evil-four-letter got so big and self-important...

... because sooner or later "Nice Urban," "ESPN Spy Urban" and "Havin' Some Man-Love for Tim Tebow Urban" is going to crack under the pressure. And how awesome will it be when Meyer reverts to "Likes to Fight Reporter Bully Urban." Come to think of it, if he did this to Rosenberg, I'd help pay his bail: Link because I can't seem to embed:

How do you feel about your first regular season? “Eh, it’s fun, you know? It’s fun! Look, I’ve got the best job in the world. I do. Because at 2:30 every day, I get 115 guys that I get a chance to make a difference in their lives. What could be funner? Or more fun. Is ‘funner’ right? Who wouldn't want to play for this guy?

... I don't always go to bowl games. But when I do, I prefer to boat-race low-caliber, gimmick system squads. Stay hungry, my Wolverines! |
| 1 year 24 weeks ago | C'mon.... |
... the (allegedly) best team Tulsa beat outside of Tulsa is UCF. UCF is 5-7. Mattison will bring the house against Case. Keenum closed.
|
| 1 year 24 weeks ago | I hope not... |
.... but if we do meet them there, we will boat-race them. As in hang a 50-spot on them and give up a couple of touchdowns. I give them credit, and the QB is awesome against inferior competition, but they've played no one... The two closest games were UTEP and UCLA (5-7 and 6-6). HC Kevin Sumlin may not be around to coach in the bowl game.

... it is so gratifying to see how happy they are. When Brady Hoke said at his opening presser that he would have walked here from San Diego, I thought it was just talk. Now I believe him. Watch his post-game presser where he says he has "the greatest job in the world." It brings a tear to your eye. I can't imagine anyone else as our head coach. Go Blue!

.... look at that smile; it's great to see him happy... And to think some on this board last week said that Tulane was the best he could do! He will put some real offense into the Pac 12; Stanford is about to trend toward the mean and Oregon should go on probation soon. And right now, on the Arizona Wildcats athletics website, there is a great picture of RichRod, announcing the news conference tomorrow. Here it is, with a slight annotation:

... please spare me all the Kirk Cousins "integrity" stuff. Speaking at the B1G meetings to the coaches. What a load of crap. We will win next year and in 2013 at Sparty Central we should hang at least 50 on them.

And I expect some "Double D" packages (Denard and Devin) that will make Dour Dantonio look like this most of the day:

... I think Sparty is overrated, perhaps wildly so. The only team they beat of substance is TSIO, which was decimated by suspensions. And Sparty nearly gave that one away. My only wish is this: no redzone turnovers by Michigan. We all know what happened at the end of the first drive against Sparty last year and how it deflated Michigan. What I see happening: Michigan goes up by 10+ points. Cousins has to throw, and Mattison sends the House. The weak-kneed Sparty "faithful" start to boo, and the team tightens up big-time. My call: Michigan wins by two touchdowns. If we get more than 30 points, I think this could be a blowout. And when Dour Coach D calls the "Little House on the Prairie" play (fake punt with the team in Conestoga wagon formation), Kovacs breaks through and tackles the punter for a huge loss. Then the ESPN cameras focus on the sideline, and Deadeye Vincent Smith lets Sparty know there's a new sheriff in town. And his name is Brady:
Go Blue!

... quasi-spamming MGB to get users to send money to the Evil Four-Letter? When you leave the family, we wish you well. But it's important to keep the money in the family. Of course they require a credit card, and of course it's charged unless you stop. It's called "forced continuity." It's also lame that you have to register before you can even easily get the cost information. Without commiting for a year (or two), the Insider sub is $6.95 per month, or $83.40 per year. Take have of that, and click on "Beveled Guilt," at the upper right above. At ESPN, those guys have all the money...

... but I think Coach Kill's seizure episode has taken something out of the team. I only watched the video of the end of the NM State game once. It was terrifying. He had 20 more before he was cleared to coach on the field against Michigan. Coach Kill shows a lot of courage; you just have to wonder how the players feel when they make bonehead plays and then quickly look over at the sideline... By all accounts he is a great coach, and has had success before. I hope he finishes the season healthy.

... how awesome would it have been to buy a ticket for LB to attend the Lions exhibition game against the Patriots? Lloyd Brady and Tom Brady in same picture = PURE WIN. If Brady Hoke had a sideline pass and was pointing in the picture: ===> a black hole immediately appears at Ford Field and the entire known universe is swallowed instantly.

I thought Sparty was overrated. The real pain for them comes in October when they play tOSU, Michigan, Wisconsin and Nebraska. |
