It's clear you follow the national narrative rather than oh, I don't know, actually visit the downtown area and see changes being made.

If this were 1970, you would be right.

The guy who ran the live blog

The guy who ran the live blog was yours truly. Thanks for the comments. Jason is a nice guy to work for. I miss the live blog and covering the team. I was also a paid intern for TheWolverine.com for the next season after that.

Jason moved to Florida and had a child, and Tim is busy with work. It's a shame, because there's really a dearth of coverage related specifically to hockey now.

I grew up going to Yost, am a proud Alum, and I love covering the hockey team. Especially when I have to be objective about it. Unfortunately, the two years I covered were the two years they missed the Tournament.

I'm currently working on a master's degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse right now, so my hope is that you'll hear and see me again in the future!

I cancelled my membership

I cancelled my membership this year. I've repeatedly e-mailed them for years and asked for some semblance of networking, and/or a job board. Looks like they finally have a job board-type of substance, but I don't see the point. No, I don't give a damn about your e-mails or the magazine, give me something meaningful, like job postings.

What's most impressive is the offensive balance in the lineup. It's not just Romero. One game, is her. The next, Doyle. The following game. Sappingfield.

"Dump of a city"--actually, I

"Dump of a city"--actually, I would apply that to East Lansing.  Ann Arbor is one of the finest cities in the state, if not the nation.  Everyone who visits here says as much.

"All girls are ugly."--In undergrad, I dated a few girls, and just about every one was attractive in some way.  I'll take all our beautiful Asian women over their dumbass sorority chicks any day.

For someone who was so quick

For someone who was so quick to completely quit covering the hockey team, I find it rather ironic that Brian labeled the hockey team a "failure," as they kept playing and he stopped writing.

If you can't appreciate what this team did when everyone around them gave up--Brian included--then you don't deserve to be a fan while they're winning.  Did Self-Righteous "I'm-Always-Right-Because-I-Founded-MGoBlog" Brian actually think the streak would last forever?  If he did, he was lying to himself.

I'll be reading my hockey coverage at The Wolverine from now on.  In fact, I don't read MGoBlog for much of anything anymore.  The self-professed "king" and founding father of Michigan blogs simply gave up, and is actually quite a terrible human being in person based on how he treated people I know.  Don't believe me?  Ask around.

He encapsulates all characteristics of the quintessential Michigan fan/Alum: arrogance, knowledge, entitlement, and fearing the worst at all times while never appreciating the good, nor ever thinking "good" is good enough.

The first time we've been

The first time we've been swept in Kalamazoo since the year I was born. Relieved that I chose to go hang out and meet new people in Rochester Hills, rather than run the Michigan Hockey Net live-blog in Kalamazoo and cover this horrendous hockey. There are a lot of issues here: Janecyk clearly not being the answer; no secondary scoring to speak of; last but not least, no mental toughness when things go awry. The most troubling trend of all: we've had leads in just about all of these road losses. Streaks are made to be broken. You can't have 2-plus decades of dominance last forever. As a blogger, I have to be honest, but fair. As an Alumnus, it breaks my heart like nothing you know.

In any event, excited about what the U.S. NTDP is bequeathing us for next season!

I was born in '86 and

I was born in '86 and graduated a few years ago.  I have very foggy memories of the '89 team as well as the two Final Four teams, so a National Championship would be one of the biggest Michigan moments I've witnessed in my lifetime, right next to the National Championship in football, hockey's two crowns, and numerous Frozen Fours (disappointments).  It would put Michigan Basketball back in the realm of a national power, give us free range in recruiting, and tell Sparty to suck a big one.  In my opinion, Final Fours mean nothing unless you win the hardware.  I constantly remind my MSU friends that Izzo has the same number of titles as Steve Fisher: one.  He's vastly overrated.

This would put us back on top!

I agree about the leadership

I agree about the leadership assessment; Brown left, and you have guys like Lynch and Moffie who should be clear-cut leaders, but aren't.  We all know AJ's a quiet guy in the room.

Whatever you're doing, Michigan Hockey Gods, do it faster, because I'm terribly worried.

2nd and 3rd lines looked fantastic tonight: Guppy with a great individual effort to muscle that backhand on goal, and Selman the beneficiary of a great pass from Sparks.

HUGE blow, and I'm not sure

HUGE blow, and I'm not sure how comfortable I feel with this possible Clare/Trouba pairing.  At least, that's what I heard.  Trouba/Moffie sounds like a lot better balance of offense/defense.

Random question for the

We did this last year in a certain basketball game with huge implications, and it worked out.  So, we have that going for us.

Broken down like that, yes,

Broken down like that, yes, it isn't too bad.  Then you throw in the NIT Tip-off, Big Ten/ACC game, and it softens the blow.

Still seems a bit much, im comparison to what I paid my first year as a season ticket holder last year.  I'm also in the Upper Bowl, still haven't changed locations.  Knocking off a hundred bucks would seem more reasonable.  I was too busy with football, hockey, and a million other things in undergrad, so I never got around to basketball then.

But hey, I want my Michigan Basketball, so I guess I pay it.  Ticket prices just keep going up and up.

Nice "Blue Ice"

Nice "Blue Ice" reference.

I'm worried that's a bit too high like the previous commenter said.  A lot of unknowns in net and offensive production this year, but as usual, we have uber-talented freshmen coming in in Nieves, Selman, and Trouba.

I'm also pumped because I'll be getting a press pass and helping Jason Paul with the live blog at MHNet!

Big Ten is B-A-D, bad.

Big Ten is B-A-D, bad.

It'll come down to us and Sparty: too much talent on both of our squads to be outclassed by anyone else.  Especially if Gardner, Funchess, and Ryan emerge.

I know exactly what you're

I know exactly what you're talking about: we shared a cab with an Alabama couple, and all they did was tell us how great we were, and that we'll go undefeated the rest of the way, and win the Big Ten.  I didn't know whether to feel conciliatory, or offended.

The worst part?  Trying to

The worst part?  Trying to flag a cab down after the game.  Event staff told us to go to one area, where there'd be "20 cabs all lined up for you."  Needless to say, it took us two hours to get a cab after the game, where we shared one with two nice and extremely complimentary Alabama fans.  Said we had nothing to be ashamed of, and that Michigan burned their secondary.  Will root for us, and they don't expect us to lose another game.

Not sure if serious, but you know.  :)
