My Dad and I are staying there, it's not too far from the DFW airport. We'll be flying in, and won't have a vehicle. If anyone's looking to carpool to events/the game, of course, we'd be more than happy to chip in for gas and whatnot.
yes plz
Dudes trying to save some cash obvs. I'm sure he knows that taxis and rentals exist. Shuttle is good advice though.
That's just like your opinion man...
We rented and its only 80 for the weekend. You would spend that in cab fare to see a few sights, stock supplies, proposition hookers etc.
Its called a royale with cheese
Last time I reserved a rental car online I was quoted one price and when I got to the airport to pick up the car they added on a bunch of fees and taxes. Not sure if I will rent a car in Dallas but if I decide to I am going to wait until we get there and try and negotiate a better price.
Also don't forget that if you're a member of the Alumni Association you can get a discount with 3-4 of the biggest rental companies.
And if you work for the U, the discount you can get via the Big Ten rate with National is usually pretty sweet.
September 1st cannot get here soon enough. Been way too long since I've them live, and Cowboys stadium is seriously unbelievable (would rather watch at the Big House obvs).
"I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start."
Parking for Jerryworld is more expensive than any other venue I've ever been to. Expect to pay anywhere from $60-$100 per car. It's quite brutal there unfortunately.
Not if you paid early for a parking pass at the stadium. Its 40 bucks, which is just as expensive as tailgating at the golf course. We are in lot 11, right next to the stadium.
You know, Dude, I myself dabbled in pacifism once. Not in 'Nam of course.
Yeah that was a good move on your part. I'm not going to the game, just offering the info to the people who have not paid early for the stadium parking pass. Sounds like you got a great location though, should be a blast. I'm interested in what the crown split will be between fans, I'd probably guess 60/40 in favor of the good guys but I don't really know how well 'bama fans travel.
I will be getting dropped off by a friend in the area for several reasons. Not the least of which being traffic for 100,000 people. Unlike in A2 on gamedays, there is no shutting down the lanes of oncoming traffic so the entire street can be used to empty out all 100,000 of those people.
Columbus bred, but home is where the heart is.
Pshhhhhh.....mgoblogger only stay at fine establishments like Motel 6, and Country Inn.
My self-esteem is directly related to my MgoPoints.
You may need to be more specific. I suspect there is more than one Red Roof Inn in Dallas.
I know from experience dude. If you know what I mean.
If you were staying at a Holiday Inn Express you wouldn't even have to ask that question.
BEAT OHIO
I think my hotel is like 2 miles away... Therefore I will be taking the 40ish minute walk to the stadium...
Had a room booked at the Knights Inn but someone on this blog told me that that is a very sketchy motel and to not stay there. I got scarred and bailed and now have a room at the Candlewood suites, which had much better reviews.
It's a 1 star motel not a crack house, I've stayed in tons of knights inns and the like over the years on road trips and I've never had a problem, just bring a sleeping bag and don't get in the covers. Obviously, if you have the cash and you want something nicer then go for it.
Yeah I didnt care at first but then I decided that I want to be comfortable and keep the wife happy. It's going to be a mini vacation for us. First time away from our 2 year old. If I was going with the boys I wouldn't care where we stayed.
Homestead in Arlington, right by the Cracker Barrel!
You know, Dude, I myself dabbled in pacifism once. Not in 'Nam of course.
We are staying at the CandleWood Inn Suites. I am thinking my wife and I will just walk to the game. But, if anyone is staying near us we would pay for a ride to and from the game.
Lol, jk
[Caved troll is caved. Sorry, Mobile app users.]
We're staying at the team hotel but rented a car! If you need a ride anywhere let me know!
You'll be better and you'll be smarter and more grown-up and a better daughter. . .
Thanks, everyone!

Rent a car or take a cab. Also, check with your hotel as they may have a shuttle. We don't have one at the Sheraton downtown but yours might.
