Andre Ware Predicts 5 Wins For UM
Just saw on College Football Live that Andre Ware said he thinks UM equals last years 5 wins and that maybe, just maybe RR could get to 6 wins but he didn't really think so.
I'm so sick and tired of the media blow hards going with the easy story and pilling on Michigan. It makes me think of a an old Bo quote I just read in the new Jon Falk "If these walls could talk" book:
Bo Always said there are termintes in the foundation. When things are going good, nobody hears from those people. But if something goes wrong, they creep out of the walls and from under the rugs. Watch all of them and take their names. When things settle down, you'll know who they are. You'll know who you can trust and who you can't
I know that Andre Ware has no agenda against Michigan but I just think this quote is so fitting for the current situation the program is going through.
Also, if you haven't bought Falk's book yet, do it. Now.

With our schedule this year, five wins isn't too outlandish of a prediction. 7-5 would exceed my expectations.

what is this i don't even

Whenever you post, I read it as if your avatar is speaking it.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:22 PM ^
Does it echo and is it in a whimsical high pitch for you as well? Thing scares the shit out of me, like Lou Holtz.

It's a combination of Eeyore and Kermit and Frog for me.
August 10th, 2010 at 6:37 PM ^
A Quizno's commercial from hell...
Also, if Andre Ware projects college football records as well as he projected into the pros, I think we'll be just fine...
August 10th, 2010 at 4:10 PM ^
Ware's the beef?
*chuckle*

Not sure why Hannibal is being so heavily negged for this. We have a tough schedule. We only won 5 last year and lost B. Graham and D. Warren. I expect us to be closer to 7-5, but if a few breaks do not go our way (or, given our youth / lack of upperclass depth, if we get a key injury or three), 5 wins is not out of the realm of reasonableness.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:22 PM ^
I fail to see this schedule as tough
August 10th, 2010 at 4:31 PM ^
Just my opinion, but opening against UConn, who was pretty decent last year, is a lot harder than opening against a run-of-the-mill MAC team. Iowa, PSU, Wisco and OSU are all going to be solid teams, and we play OSU and PSU on the road. ND is in transition, so hopefully they will have some early season growing pains, but they will be playing at home and still have a team stacked with 5 pretty damn impressive recruits.
Not saying that it is an impossibly hard schedule, just that it isn't as if all of our OOC games were gimmes and we had our tougher B10 games at home.
August 10th, 2010 at 5:00 PM ^
It is opinion, but OSU and PSU were going to be losses last year, and they likely will be this year. That means that more winnable games (Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and MSU) being at home makes it easier to get more wins. Facing IU and ND on the road doesn't really balance.
As a Michigan fan I look at it like this:
- It was a young team last year
- Finally, have a QB with more than a year in the system,
- EMveorylonek is healthy (more like last season start than finish)
August 10th, 2010 at 6:25 PM ^
I would switch out PSU for Wisconsin when it comes to probable loses this season. PSU seems a little overrated while Wisconsin is probably a tougher team to beat, even though we get them at home.
August 14th, 2010 at 12:40 PM ^
I live in PSU country and they are alll over the place here with how the team will responnd. Evan Roycster....blah, blah, blah........I'll see the game in HV this year. Can't wait. After being verbally abused 2 years ago when I went. Threet and Sheridan were...well..you know.
August 10th, 2010 at 6:25 PM ^
Beating Wisky is going to be easier than PSU?????
I'd have to disagree
August 10th, 2010 at 6:30 PM ^
Well, PSU has more questions than Wisconsin. They lost some of their best players on defense and Newsome is probably going to start and I'm not scared of him as a QB. Wisconsin was good last year and seems to be just as good this year. IMO
August 10th, 2010 at 8:26 PM ^
we keep counting illinois as an automatic win...we haven't bearen them yet and we played piss poor against them last year. the only two wins i feel confident about are UMass and BGSU
August 10th, 2010 at 4:41 PM ^
Are you crazy? We lost our top two defensive players off an awful defense...If we can get five wins we should celebrate!
August 10th, 2010 at 3:57 PM ^
Who the hell is Andre Ware and why should I care about his prediction?
August 10th, 2010 at 4:04 PM ^
I hope I just missed the snarkiness of your comment, and you weren't seriously inquiring as to who Andre Ware is.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:11 PM ^
No, not seriously inquiring who Andre Ware is, how could anyone not know? He's such an integral part of the Houston Texans radio team along side Marc Vandermeer! This on top of being a college football psychic...
/this post is also sarcasm...except for the part about it being sarcasm
August 10th, 2010 at 4:41 PM ^
In all fairness to Andre Ware, he was responsible for the creation of both the tems "draft bust" and "system quarterback". We must thank him for his contribution to the game of football.
August 10th, 2010 at 3:57 PM ^
Yawn. Ex-Lion bust criticizes U-M? Why should I care?
August 10th, 2010 at 3:57 PM ^
Andre Ware anyway....???? All I hear is white noise!
August 10th, 2010 at 3:58 PM ^
While I agree with your frustration, this team has yet to prove itself. It's all predictions and while I would love for us to go 12-0, I think 7-5 or 8-4 is realistic. But again it is all prediction and none of this will matter come Sept. 4 and the real season begins. Be patient and laugh at the haters now.
August 10th, 2010 at 3:59 PM ^
If the so-called experts are all over the map in terms of our chances this year, I wouldn't expect Ware to be any more trustworthy.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:02 PM ^
Dude, relax. It's been said a million times on this board: winning cures all. The MSM predicting us going 13-0 has the same value as them predicting 0-12: none. I suggest taking a quick 25-day nap.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:03 PM ^
I think a 25 day nap would be more accurately classified as a coma.

I would be willing to take some sort of heavy sedative that allows me to sleep for 25 days so long as there is no permanent brain damage.

5 wins in season 3 for Rich Rod is pretty much the Michigan football program getting hit by a nuclear bomb. Could the Michgian program survive a nuclear holocaust? I really don't want to find out...
August 10th, 2010 at 4:02 PM ^
I predict Andre Ware is a giant terd...and wait, I'm right.
"Then you are under the pile and that is where all the dirty stuff happens."- Andre Ware
August 10th, 2010 at 4:03 PM ^
Andre Ware is one of worst analysts ESPN has. And that's saying something. Even if we do go 5-7, it doesn't mean that Andre knows what he's talking about. Truth be told, nobody knows how Michigan's season is going to go. There are too many question marks that nobody has a good idea what the answers will be.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:45 PM ^
This team really is largely an unknown this year, isn't it? That's weird and scary all at the same time. I have no idea what to expect on Sept. 4. I hope they come out and bulldoze UConn like the 97 team did to Colorado. Predictions for that team were modest, coming off a seemingly endless string of 8-4 seasons. Of course, to do something like that, the D has to be much, much better.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:04 PM ^
Don't blame him, it's the Heisman curse talking
August 10th, 2010 at 4:04 PM ^
How many did he predict for the 2nd half of the season?
August 10th, 2010 at 4:07 PM ^
I'm almost relieved Andre Ware is that pessimistic. I'd be more concerned if he was optimistic.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:05 PM ^
I predicted that Andre Ware would lead the Lions to a Super Bowl.
How'd that turn out?
August 10th, 2010 at 4:52 PM ^
If Michigan won 5 games this year, that would still be more than Andre Ware won as a starter in the NFL.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:05 PM ^
When I read he's saying 5 wins, I'm doing my best Mr. Burns impression: "Ex-cellent!"
August 10th, 2010 at 4:06 PM ^
You sure it wasnt 5 wins in the first 5 games. Let everyone have their opinions, in less than 4 weeks, we will shock the world.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:06 PM ^
I am officially boycotting Andre Ware
August 10th, 2010 at 10:36 PM ^
I've been boycotting this guy for about 20 years.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:07 PM ^
proven wrong by week 6.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:09 PM ^
...has never liked this program. He predicted last year that RR would never make a bowl game at Michigan, so this is consistent with his thinking.
I just think he hates all things the State of Michigan b/c he blames it for his failed NFL career.
August 10th, 2010 at 4:08 PM ^
Hmmm. Funny. That's more wins than he had for the Lions.
