You could always buyt it and then form your own opinion. Maybe then you could even, you know, add to the discussion.
Is this the same idiot friend that you were holding that marijuana for? Who left that whisky bottle in your car? Whose pornos you were storing under your mattress?
Respectfully, I disagree. You are entitled to your opinion and I think I am entitled to mine as well. I simply don't think they look good on our helmet - it diminishes the contrast of the maize wings and the blue base color.
I agree. The clean look is much better for the best helmets in college football. if it ain't broke don't fix it. Its one of the many things I hate about Ohio State, those tacky ass stickers on their helmets.
Were their tacky ass stickers anything like this tacky ass sticker?
Well played sir.
Elementary schoolers in This State Up North have been calling those things "bird poop" for nigh on 40 years.
I mean, you gotta admit...
Never liked them. I don't agree with openly displaying individual accomplishments in a team sport.
The stickers were a bad fit for the program that defined "The Team, The Team, The Team" . In Bo's book he even mentioned that on plane rides, it was the seniors who got the best seats not the star players. I think we win as a team and lose as a team, and the only accolades the players should get are the rings and trophies they all get if they win or lose. If a player does have an amazing year, they will get the recognition they deserve off the field.
who instituted those helmet stickers for individual achievements on the field that helped "The Team" win the game. There's irony for ya!
How do you feel about the Heisman?
he summed it up in his last sentence.
That's what I get for skimming.
But you could have edited the content before you (or someone else) responded to it.
the girl in your avatar will always be in my memory. what a great day to see such a hot chick look so stunned (btw hot chick from ND...wha?)
Eh. She's definitely a grade A gutterslut, but hot? I don't know...
Fortunately, I like hot, grade-A-gutterslut coffee.
...the merits of the "clean" helmet and the stickered helmet. They had them when I was in school so it's not like there's no precedent.
Bottom line: if the coach thinks they are useful to motivate the team, I'm for them. If not, they won't happen and it's therefore, a moot point.
I think your bottom line point sums it up well.
As for the aesthetic of it, that helmet looks good without stickers. It looks good with stickers. That helmet looks good.
If you need stickers to motivate you to play harder/better, then should you really be playing football at a division 1 level?
...these motivated this guy or not, but they don't look like they hurt his motivation either.
They were dumped for a reason. It didn't look good. They took away from the beauty of the helmets.
That looks terrible. The blank helmet is a good call.
...if they went to larger hat sizes, as per Tate's new prototype:
I didn't realize Rick Moranis is a rostered quarterback.
I don't like them. Our helmets look good plain.
plain to begin with which is why the stickers don't look as good on them, IMO.
I guess stickers are not necessary when you have cool wings.
FWIW, I think stickers look okay on other helmets that are more basic in design (e.g. OSU).
That's what she said
i didnt mind the stickers. what i do mind is how the stripes (weird i know) have changed over time.
Then it's clearly not good enough for us. No stickers, end of story.
I don't want stickers on the helmet, but I would LOVE to buy a bunch of those stickers.
I would love to see the stickers back. Loved them as a kid and think they add alot to the helmets. I didn't like when they got rid of them in the first place. Classic look
I'll only allow stickers to be put on the helmets if loud rawk music is played while doing so.
Leave the stickers to OSU. The stickers make our helmets look worse, IME.
I never liked the stickers.
I have always been a fan of helmet stickers, on a plain helmet. I would rather not have stickers on the Michigan helmets.
coaching time and energy. I don't know if handing out stickers is a countable hour, but I would rather the staff use what time they have to coach.
It seemed unfair to me (IIRC), the skill positions always seemed to have a yellow cloud while pancakes never seemed to get their just due. Same goes for DL, who opened the gaps for the Simpkins and Cannavino LBs who also had yellow heads by season end. Then again - if stickers can raise the level of LB play to that of Girgash, Mallory, Sword or Boren I'm all for it.
on the Venus de Milo.
No stickers. No. Stickers.
Helmet stickers just make me think of those boards in elementary school with everyone's name, and a row for stickers. When you did something good, or actually showed up, you got a sticker. OMG yay.
College-aged people should not be motivated by stickers. Motivate them in other ways, like in team meetings.
P.S. They're ratbag ugly.
