You don't believe in the ADM?

Then have your son start playing little league at Comerica Park.

Definitely

a big surprise that Boo Nieves didn't make it and same with Mike McCarron, who was committed to Western before going to the O.  I think Compher and Copp are locks, and Motte is on the bubble...that being said, if Motte has a good camp, he'll be on the team too.  Could be a rough GLI.

Um...

No. Kalis is a guard and Magnuson is too light to be a left tackle. From left to right: Braden, Bosch, Kugler, Kalis, Magnuson. Maybe Glasgow keeps the starting center spot, but Kugler has a higher ceiling.

Brandon

got a call from Homeland Security telling him he had to ban seat cushions.

Letang

Has one year left on his deal and just signed an 8 year 58 mill extension today.

The 39 Mgopoints...

Made me think your comment was a serious one...my apologies.

You want to play

Rutgers in a non-conference series when they are in our division starting in 2014? Yeah ok.

Can't say I'm surprised...

We should be happy we had him for the one year...kid is the total package.

Eh

Good talent but I don't wanna guy in the Top 5 that has Spinal Stenosis.

He's a huge douche...

this is what he said:

After the game: IUBB Tom Crean address exIU (Kelvin Sampson) asst Jeff Meyer: "YOU WRECKED OUR PROGRAM!"

I bet

EA Sports doesn't even know you can still view that page and people are still on it and voting.

Someone

should have taken a screen shot of the final tallies.

I'm guessing

They will just have both of them on the cover so neither fan base gets upset.

I forsee a deal

between EA Sports and the Athletic Departments, that Michigan/Denard will get the cover this time and that Texas A&M has been promised the cover whenever Johnny Manziel enters the draft.

Well...

We either win by cheating, or lose by taking the high road by allowing obnoxious aggie fans to exploit the system and get what they want.

In case you missed it

Here is the video of it on YouTube.

Denard is LOSING by 2K

Let's fix this.

So....

now we keep our fingers crossed for Artavis Scott and George Campbell.

Denard/Michigan is losing

by about 10,000 votes right now.  Go out and vote.  We have a big enough fan base to do this.

This.

Don't worry about it this week...they're announcing players for all of the finalists...but come Monday, everyone needs to vote...If you don't have a facebook, create one and go vote.  It'll take 2 minutes of your time, and will give Denard something great to cap off his career.

Thank God

Thank God

Anyone

know how to get around YouTube videos that were made private?

I feel like

This is happening to us right now.

http://www.sbnation.com/college-football-recruiting/2013/1/21/3900356/s…

A recruit lied and said he visited Notre Dame...school had no record of him ever stepping on campus for an official...they've had a bad two weeks.

It wasn't a skills competition

Lehtera was awarded a penalty shot during the all-star game, the OP is correct.  The All-Star skills competition was on Saturday, which was dominated by Pavel Datsyuk.

Also, here's a GIF of it.

Just saw this.

Pretty weird because Samuelson's last tweet was about not announcing until the 14th and how he didn't want any phone calls or anything until then.

I'm guessing this means that Cameron Hunt decided not to commit?

My guess

was going to be Milne or Rutledge, since that guy eliminated almost everyone else haha.

Lol

Lol. Connor Cook played decent for one drive n a meaningless bowl game...remember when everyone thought Andrew Maxwell was going to be amazing? Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

Haven't seen Les Mis yet...

But High Jackman's career started on Broadway/in theatre and he's been singing for years...Russell Crowe also has CDs out...them being able to sing is basically the least surprising thing ever.

I was deferred in 2007....

waited it out, sent them my grades from first half of Senior year, got into the Michigan in April, went on and graduated April 2012.  Just tell her to have some patience and not slack off during her Senior year, despite how much she may want to.

This is why

You never ever bad mouth a kid that decommits, and shouldn't bad mouth any High School recruit in general.

New crossover games apparently...

Hearing rumors of Illinois-Indiana, Northwestern-Rutgers and MSU-Maryland as the B1G crossover matchups.

Do you...

have to watch it live, or are you able to go back and watch it later?

haha

I wish I was still a student...I graduated in April.

I will say this

I think Rutledge got completely left out to dry on at least 5 of the 7 goals he let in on Saturday.

Both Racine and Rutledge are solid goaltenders, but IMO neither one has the capability to steal a game if the whole team doesn't show up...at least not yet. The days of Hunwick standing on his head and bailing out the team are gone...time to get this squad clicking and firing on all cylinders at the same time.

He lived

On my floor in Markley my freshman year...couldn't have happened to a nicer and better guy.

Exactly this.

Very well said...he's doing great so far, and I think he got a fumble recovery on a kickoff a few weeks ago to go along with his INTs.  He's defiitely looking much better and it looks like he has gotten much better at tackling too.

I agree

that in college it shouldn't/doesn't matter, but in the pros they do it to tell if a guy is an eligible receiver and stuff like that.

Good call.

Good call.

Completely disagree...

If a math teacher is molesting a child on school grounds, and only a handful of people that work at the school know about it and don't do anything, does the entire school or math department get punished ten years later?

Today is taking forever....

It doesn't help that 24/7 is now saying that David Dawson is taking a visit to Florida...anyone else hear about this?

So...

We shouldn't worry about David Dawson visiting Florida?  Because according to 24/7 he is going to take a visit there.

I personally

would try to sign Shane Doan, Alexander Semin and Peter Mueller...sign Doan to a 3 year deal, Semin to a 5 year deal and Mueller to a 1 year deal.  Then on defense I would sign Carlo Colaiacovo to a 1 year deal...Semin and Doan should get about 5 mill (if they want more then forget it, or choose one, preferably Doan), Mueller and Colaiacovo will come cheap.  Then I would kick the tires on Jay Bouwmeester.  His cap hit is horrible, but he only has two years left on the deal and he is 28.  Keep in mind if they want anything more than Cleary, a 2nd rounder and a prospect, I say forget it.  The Wings should be able to get under the cap with these moves, and they should all contribute.  With the extra abundance of fowards they would now have...I would start trying to put things in motion to move Filppula, Abdelkader and Ericsson to upgrade on defense...perhaps Keith Yandle.  There is no way this team gets Rick Nash with the Lollipop King running the Columbus Blue Jackets...I swear that dude is on crack.

But that's just me...I trust Ken Holland to make well thought out calculated decisions and not reactionary ones.  As Wings fans, we could be in for a very rough season.

Thank You

for making my work day infinitely better with this post.

I'm hugely superstitious

And believe there is a curse....but at the same time the NFL is a brutal league with tons of horrible injuries each year, so maybe I'm being extremely illogical believing in the curse.

Plus/minus

Isnt the only stat that matters, Philly's goaltending has been brutal and there are other guys on the ice with him...he's easily a top 15 player in the nhl this season, who knows if he'll keep playing at a high level though.

Oh there is no curse?

  • Garrison Hearst appearing on the 1999 PAL cover was known to be the "start" of the curse, as after his appearance, he broke his ankle and was out for 2 seasons, and his performance was never the same.
  • After Barry Sanders' appearance on the 2000 cover, Sanders abruptly retired before training camp, falling just short of the record for most career rushing yards.
  • Dorsey Levens appeared on the PAL version of the 2000 game, and the Green Bay Packers, whom Levens was playing for at the time, failed to make the playoffs, and Levens was eventually released the year later.
  • After Eddie George appeared on the 2001 cover, the Tennessee Titans lost in Divisional round in the 2001 playoffs. Late in the 4th quarter with the Titans down 17-10, a Steve McNair pass was bobbled by George and intercepted by Ray Lewis for a touchdown, sealing the game. George also never averaged more than 3.4 yards per carry for the rest of his career.
  • Daunte Culpepper led the Minnesota Vikings to the playoffs in 2000, but after appearing on the Madden 2002 cover, he threw 23 interceptions as the Vikings slumped to a 5–11 record. He also broke the record for most fumbles in a single season. While his career looked to be back on track in 2004 with a career season, he blew out both knees in 2005 and 2006 and never resembled the player he was at the start of the decade.
  • Marshall Faulk appeared on the 2003 cover, and his career (and the success of the St. Louis Rams) severely declined afterwards. He did not register another 1,000 yard rushing season and his yards per carry average dropped from a consistent 5.4 over the previous three years to 4.5 in 2002 and 4.0 in 2003 and 2004. He started 21 out of a possible 32 games from 2002–2003 as knee injuries got the better of him. He underwent reconstructive knee surgery in 2005 and retired that same year.
  • After appearing on the cover of Madden NFL 2004Michael Vick broke his fibula in a pre-season game against the Baltimore Ravens, and the Atlanta Falcons went 5-11. Years later it was discovered that he participated in an illegal dog-fighting ring and he was sent to prison.
  • Ray Lewis, 2005 cover athlete and middle linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, had his season cut short in week 15 with a wrist injury. It was also Lewis' first season without an interception.
  • In 2006, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb tore his ACL and meniscus in his right knee while jumping out of bounds in a game versus the Tennessee Titans, ending his season. McNabb also suffered a sports hernia in the first game of the season.
  • Running back Shaun Alexander, then the league's reigning Most Valuable Player, was featured on the cover of Madden NFL 2007, and sustained a foot injury that caused him to miss six starts.[34] As a result, Alexander’s rushing statistics were substantially less than those from the previous season, and he never returned to true form.[34] Alexander himself has asked, “Do you want to be hurt and on the cover, or just hurt?"[35]
  •
  • Madden NFL 2008's cover featured Vince Young, the starting quarterback of the Tennessee Titans. Young missed one game of the 2007 season due to a minor injury, but for the rest of the season was roughly even with his 2006 performance. When Young appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to officially announce that he would appear on the cover of Madden NFL 2008, he derided allegations of becoming the curse’s next victim, and stated, “I've done prayed about it and we're gonna go home and try to get to the playoffs and try to get to the Super Bowl. We'll see what happens." [39][40] In contrast, Young suffered longer-term injuries in 2008 (from which he successfully came back in 2009) and 2010, which, combined with a coaching dispute, led to his departure from the Titans prior to the 2011 season.
  • Brett Favre appeared on the cover of Madden NFL 2009 as a Green Bay Packer, under the impression that Favre was retired. However, shortly after the decision, Favre came back out of retirement and was traded to the New York Jets, where he was plagued by poor on-field performance and an off-field sexual harassment scandal.
  • On September 10, 2009, Larry Fitzgerald, wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals and safety Troy Polamalu of the Pittsburgh Steelers, were both featured on the cover of Madden NFL 10. Polamalu sprained his MCL in the first half of the season opener and missed the next four games. After returning, Polamalu played in three more games before injuring his posterior cruciate ligament on November 14, 2009 against Cincinnati, and missed more games as a result. Fitzgerald, on the other hand, started all 16 regular season and both playoff games for the Cardinals. He did not attend the Pro Bowl due to a rib injury, leaving Steve Smith of the New York Giants to take his spot in the 2010 Pro Bowl. He recorded 97 receptions (third-most of his NFL career), 1,092 yards (fourth-most), and a career-high 13 touchdowns.[41]
  • Madden NFL 11 cover athlete Drew Brees played in every game of the 2010 NFL Season. However, he threw twice as many interceptions (22) that season than in the Saints' 2009 Super Bowl-winning campaign (11). Also, his Quarterback Rating dropped nearly 20 points, and the Saints lost in the first round of the playoffs to the 7-9 Seattle Seahawks, the only team to date to make the playoffs with a losing record in a full-length season. He made the 2011 Pro Bowl as a reserve, after being unable to participate in the 2010 Pro Bowl, as the Saints had made the Super Bowl. Brees played 6 weeks of the NFL Season with a torn MCL, a fact that was first outed by his teammate, Heath Evans,[42] later confirmed by another teammate, Jon Stinchcomb[43] and, eventually, Brees himself.[44] More recently, Brees's team, the New Orleans Saints, were implicated in a bounty scandal. The Saints lost draft picks, and head coach Sean Payton was suspended for the 2012 NFL season. Former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been suspended indefinitely.
  • Madden NFL 12 cover athlete Peyton Hillis has missed five games in the 2011 NFL season with a hamstring injury, missed one game with strep throat, and has had his numbers decline continuously after the second week. Hillis suffered a re-injury to his hamstring during practice before week nine and his outlook to finish this season with numbers equivalent to his previous year's performance is looking bleak. In addition, his divisive behavior in the Browns locker room during the season, particularly with regards to his contentious contract negotiations, has been the subject of much media attention. It has been rumored that Hillis will leave the Browns at the end of the 2011-2012 season as a free agent.[45] When asked about his significant decline, Hillis pointed towards the infamous Madden curse as a factor, saying "Things didn't work in my favor this year. There's a few things that happened this year that made me believe in curses. Ain't no doubt about it." [46]

You're right, all of that has be coincidence and is in no way because of a curse.

It even has its own wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madden_NFL#Madden_Curse.

Treais

Also wore #23 at the USA Program.

A couple of things....

1) Milne plays for the St. Mike's Buzzers, not Buzzards, and from what I've seen he is a winger. http://stmikes.stats.pointstreak.com/playerpage.html?playerid=4215124&s…

2) Carrick is good enough to force Serville out of the lineup, and I would expect both Trouba and Carrick to immediately slide into the Top 6 and play every game.  This is not a knock against Serville, they are just that good.

3) There will be no goalie competition.  The only way Rutledge isn't the starter from Day 1 is if he gets hurt, or Janny gets unreal over the summer.  Same with my comments on Serville, this is not to knock any of our other goalies, but Rutledge is the guy, plain and simple.

4) Racine is not a big goalie, and his lack of success in the u-show will make it very unlikely he plays at all his freshman year at Michigan.  Al Montoya and Billy Sauer are big goalies...and I think we can throw out a bias of Red liking only big goalies after starting Hunwick and recruiting Rutledge....granted he didn't really have a ton of choice in either scenario.

5) Merrill is not leaving.  New Jersey doesn't want him yet after he missed half the year with his suspension.

6) Nice work on the write up.

Fifthly,

Fifthly, the article was posted by a kid under the username Lilbrooey700.
