Sure, MSU's receivers are "more productive."  And that additional production is based solely off of playing from behind and accumulating more stats based on need.  MSU is a ball control, run-first team that has had to pass a considerably larger amount than they would like.  Because they're a bad team their WRs have more yards.  Neat!  For whatever reason you really seem hellbent on espousing all of MSU's virtues.

P.S. Burbridge did not "scorch" Michigan in 2015.  Once again you need to look at the context of the game and how the numbers came to be.

Context would include the distribution of receptions. There's a lot more to a passing game than the top 2 WRs. If you compare MSU's 3 QBs to our 3 QBs you'll see their QBs have a slightly lower completion rate but 155 more yards (1445-1290). Their QBs have a 12-7 (TD-Int) ratio. Ours are 13-2.

Stats:http://www.espn.com/college-football/conferences/statistics/player/_/id…

TOC is the 6th rated QB, Speight is 9th. (Of course, TOC is a 5th year senior while Speight is a redshirt sophomore).

So you list some stats and facts that reinforce your opinion, but studiously avoid others like MSU's record this year, the fact that they gave up 54 points to NW, the difference in S&P+ ratings, the Vegas spread, etc. Enjoy your playtime, bet we here nothing from you after the game.

Ok Trolly McTrollster! which QB looked so good? The one who got yanked, or the one who came in? How come this NFL talent on defense couldn't hold the same NW offense who couldn't manage double digit points vs. an FCS team under 50? Who said anything about them "rolling over" for us? They'll play hard, I have no doubt. But, I don't think it's going to be enough to stay close. B

So why are they 2-4, with their longest skid since MD took over? As I said, I've no doubt they'll be whipped into a frenzy against Michigan. Neither do I doubt that they're going to play their hearts out. But, if they weren't able to stop NW, nor BYU, nor IU, what makes you think they're going to stop Michigan. So why, with this elite RB, QB, and WR's, why aren't they able to score? Have you watched Michigan's defense? Is there anything in MSU's daunting arsenal of offensive weapons that you think Don Brown and his dudes can't handle? Is it just that the rivalry is going to suddenly give MSU a jolt and all their woes are solved? Again, I expect their best effort, but I think Michigan's veteran squad can take whatever they've got, and give back more than they can handle.

Yes they will play a bit over their heads against us, but it still won't be anywhere near enough to compete.  You simply CANNOT fix terrible OL, DL, and QB play by conjuring up emotions.  No, Puff the Magic Dragon isn't real either.  People tend to forget how fired up WE are going to be after last year's BS finish.

That strictly seems to take statistics into account and negates the whole rivalry thing.  I'm not buying either number.  I'd like to believe though!

I have no idea how they compute their statistics or what their model is, but you can impound "intangibles" (like a rivarly dimension) into statistical predictive models. But from a strictly statistical perspective, neither "rivalry" nor even "homefield advantage" matter as much as people think in these models. Everyone says "3 points," but that is a total cop-out. And when you consider that there may very well be as many UM fans as Sparty fans in that stadium in two weeks, what does it really matter?

You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little fucked up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?

How the fuck am I funny, what the fuck is so funny about me? Tell me, tell me what's funny!

A touch nervous still, since they have pretty much nothing else to play for, but I can't remember being this optimistic about our chances against them since the bobby Williams drubbing. I'd still make OSU the favorite, but that Wisconsin game they just played showed the world they're beatable.

I agree but I remember how overwhelmingly confident people were last year. They had just come off back to back games where they were almost upset by Purdue and Rutgers and we were rolling. Most people on here were predicting blowouts, Brian included. (I think his prediction was a little more reasonable, 26-11)

I dig it, but can't get this over 50/50 in my head due to the last few years against them.  I do think our defense is better than theirs with their offense being better than ours.  I think if we win the turnover battle we will win.  Just a bit nervous about going up against a really talented spread offense team.

FEI actually has our offense as more efficient than theirs now. I think the two big keys for us on defense are 1) blowing up their OL (we will, lock that in) and 2) tackling well. If we do those two things, Barrett will be forced to beat us in the air, which is a matchup that heavily favors our secondary. Our defense and Peppers will give us the field position we need to win.

Going in I'd bet we take Sparty by 3 touchdowns, buckeyes by 1. Realistically, we could beat Sparty by 10 points or 50 depending on which team shows up. Pretty much everyone in east lansing has given up hopes for their season, and just want to win the only game that matters to them now

Watching how Wisconsin used the outside linebackers against OSU's spread was great. Edge contain after edge contain (until that 4th quarter, ugh). Very similar for Michigan, only with Peppers spying Barrett. That game is going to be epic. As for MSU? They are a raging couch fire right now and no amount of disrespekt is going to overcome reality. Michigan wins big.
