You forgot to demand Lloyd Carr reveal what he knew and when he knew it. The weirdest part of that nutjob's lunacy was his depiction of Lloyd Carr as some sort of Machavellian overlord of a shadowy cabal of Michigan insiders who were secretly destroying RichRod from on high.

No. In that scenario, we'd have no losses, Ohio state 1, and MSU 2. The game would be for the division.

No ones stated the stat so let me just post it for posterity: 504 total yards offense for our QB. That win is all on him!!!

I don't understand how @ Penn State, off a bye week, with that front 7 and a (supposedly) NFL level QB is only a Fear Level 4.

I'm more concerned about a roster crunch than anything else. 4.25 is going to be like 2.5 mil today in year 5 of that deal. I agree its nutso but I think people are missing that fact that in about three years, Abdelkader really doesn't belong in the top 6 with the young guys coming in.

Eventually, he tells cops that fellow OSU quarterback Cardale Jones will be picking him up ... and the officers find that amusing.
As do I. As do I.

3 years? He's going to go out and recruit kids without being able to give them even the slightest facade he'll be there their entire 4 years? Well, good luck with that, Minnesota.

I do not think we'd make the playoffs even if we win out and I do not seriously see us hanging with Bama or Clemson in year 1 of Harbaugh. I'd take a win over Ohio State (regardless of B10 title game outcome) and grin like an idiot with ten wins and a major bowl. That is so far exceeding any reasonable expectations going into this season.

Respectfully, no. It was announced as a night game long before the season. The start time being 7 or 8 was in flux until a few weeks into the season, however.
To the best of my recollection, I cannot think of a game between two non-Pac12 power 5 teams being announced as a night game on 1-2 weeks notice.

To be fair, it's a PSU home game. I'm ok with that. But I feel strongly the worst of the PSU $130 tickets is going to be better than the best I'm going to pull once the remaining non-PSU-claimed seats are put on ticketmaster.

I took it to mean you are guaranteed seats in that section (in your case the 200s) but they are not handing out specific row and seat combos until the penn state sale is over, at which time they will assign rows and seats within each price range based on priority points.

|5 weeks 3 days ago||Obviously unfair is the main||
Obviously unfair is the main point of contention there. Players false-start multiple times: how is it obviously unfair that someone did it intentionally.
Here is a link with specific examples of where this has worked:
|5 weeks 3 days ago||(Yes, I reviewed the rule||
(Yes, I reviewed the rule this week to insure I was correct because this is one of those minutia things I've always wondered why a coach didn't use.) We couldn't false start on 2nd down, MSU had called a timeout. If the play clock was stopped at the time the penalty was called, then by rule, post-penalty, it restarts on the snap not the ready for play.
Again, I have literally seen multiple times teams with <2:00 left trying to run out the clock false-start and get an however-many seconds. I have never seen an intentional false start called in any of them. I don't think a team could string together multiple false starts; obviously at some point, the referee is going to figure it out. And again, if I'm wrong and the referee calls a penalty I have never seen called in DECADES of ravenous football watching, we are out 2-3 seconds and 5 yards in a punt situation. A pretty fair trade for the overwhelming likelihood is WE DON'T HAVE TO SNAP THE BALL AT ALL ON 4TH DOWN.
|5 weeks 3 days ago||Re: the punt and what crazy||
Re: the punt and what crazy thing we should have done differently --
I have thought about this a lot in the past, for years before this game ever occurred, and I don't know why this isn't part of more coaches' game theory: have a lineman intentionally false start. After 3rd down, do not run the clock down to :10 and take a time out. Simply line up to punt with :20 left and the playclock rolling and with like :15 left on the game clock and :05 left on the playclock, the left guard should false start intentionally. Five yard penalty, play clock is reset, and per the rulebook since the game clock was running when the penalty was called, it must start on the ready for to play signal. I have seen this called and the game runs out without the 4th down ever being snapped.
The only way it does not work is if the referee rules the team INTENTIONALLY false-started, a call I have never seen in which case he could freeze the clock. (On the other hand, I have seen teams false-start ~10 times in the final two minutes of games and basically buy an extra :40 play clock to burn.) If the only risk is snapping 4th down with ~13 seconds instead of ~10, why aren't coaches sending players out to false start in sub 2:00 scenarios when the other team is out of TOs and an extra down will run us to the end of the game?
It's horrible sportsmanship, but if its in the rule book. . .
