Whittingham is one of the best HC's in college football IMO.

I wasn't sure if I had my homer glasses on while watching that MSU-Oregon game, but I really thought Oregon looked pretty average in a lot of phases of the game. Looks like I was right. Meanwhile, MSU's only good win is against Oregon and their other wins have been lackluster. Number 2 team in the country, my ass. I can't wait for our guys to prove that MSU doesn't belong in October.

On the other hand, Utah, BYU, Oregon State.... Our schedule is making us better and fast.
September 26th, 2015 at 11:34 PM ^
Oregon had to travel across the country to play in East Lansing. And still managed to play Sparty pretty tough. After what we did to BYU today, I believe that all that travel is hard on a west coast team more than ever.
September 26th, 2015 at 11:50 PM ^
So then how do you explain Utah absolutely destroying Oregon at home, when Utah is a team that Michigan played close while having to travel cross country?
September 27th, 2015 at 4:31 AM ^
through two time zones the home team is at an advantage.

they at least travel east. I know LSU played at Syracuse today, but the SEC leaving its footprint is so rare.
September 27th, 2015 at 12:39 AM ^
Luckily for them, Syracuse plays in a dome.
Anyone from the SEC will tell you that it's frigid north of the Mason-Dixon line all year round.

Even if you want to claim that you then have to say Oregon may have beaten MSU if it had been at home which would make MSU look even worse.
September 28th, 2015 at 9:08 PM ^
and then the very next week having to play a game which starts at 10am mountain time. I would say that is pretty difficult. Oregon/msu was at least a night game. So the ducks didn't have to wake up at 5am their time to begin preparations.
Even Dierdorf said as much during the radio broadcast.

• The Turtles are Turrible
• Minny is looking much weaker than expected
• Indiana is Indiana
• PSU is looking much weaker than expected
Stanley Jackson predicted on the BTN tonight that Michigan would upset either MSU or OSU.

Of the ex Buckeyes he stands out as being well prepared, fair, and personable. Joey Galloway stands out in a different way.

Shouldnt the team that beat Oregon in Oregon by say 20 be ranked #2 over the team that beat Oregon by 1 at home?
Considering the team that won in Oregon actually beat another half decent P5 team while the #2 team has had a bunch of MAC and service academy wins?
Just asking.

Probably still more useful than the preseason polls. I for one welcome our garishly clad ranking system overlords.

MSU beats Oregon by 1 at home
Utah beats Oregon by 42 on the road, we lose by 3 to Utah on the road.
+1 < +39
We are 38 points better than MSU. Math.

Devaluing the State win over Oregon while making the team Michigan lost to look better. It's a Festivus miracle!

I must agree, this could realistically be a four loss Oregon team looking at the schedule... seems really odd saying that.
September 27th, 2015 at 5:47 AM ^
The way Oregon is playing 4 losses is their ceiling not the floor.

If Utah smokes Oregon does that change the national view of michigan?
That's a game they should have won but they gave it away.
Lost by 7 on the road and have been dominate the last three.
MSU struggled to beat Oregon at home.

Prestige of beating Oregon dropping fast.
Our defense held Utah to 14 points.
Could be a real interesting BIG season if our offense keeps improving.
