| 1 week 2 days ago | Has to be Novak |
Has to be Novak, for reasons already discussed above. I was at U-M during these years (05-09), so despite the drought I like the others as well--with the exception of Darrius Morris. He left early and for as much as I can't hold it against him for wanting to join the NBA... I'm holding it against him for wanting to join the NBA. Hindsight's 20/20 but it's all we have and he was a low second rounder... he should have stayed. The fact that he didn't should be a strike against him (as it's noted in his Cons section) in the MgoHall analysis. |

It's only arrogance if you're ultimately proven wrong. Otherwise, it's called confidence. Sincerely, Another Michigan Man (who agrees with enforcing the rules of grammar) |

If you're so inclined, please post when you're done. I don't have any particularly helpful links for you, but if you're feeling proud once you're all done and you're willing to share, please post it here. I'm sure I speak for the rest of the board when I say a freshly-minted piece on The Rivalry is always a great read. |
| 4 weeks 6 days ago | Proof of dominance, |
Looking at the class laid out in front of you (link) really demonstrates how dominant Hoke's (and arguablly Shane Morris') recruiting has been for this class. 17 commits, 11 of them ESPN 150 players. 15 of them Four-Star players. All 17 of them are 79 or better. ALL of them. This isn't just a great class. This is a TREMENDOUS class. |
| 6 weeks 1 day ago | Anything in twitter-speak |
Anything in twitter-speak is tacky on its face. Hashtags have no place in the Big House, let alone on the field. A simple "Go Blue" would of course be significantly less offensive to the senses, although writing much of anything on the field still makes me less than joyous. Let's quit trying to update with this kind of bullsh#t and be content with the way things are... this is Michigan fergodssakes |

But... it's March? #confused |
| 9 weeks 5 days ago | NO. |
NO. Part of the reason we call OSU Ohio is because Ohio U is irrelevant--it's a tiny MAC school [edit: redundant] that gets no love even from its own state. If Ohio U had grown into something worth recognizing in the world of sports, this would be different. But they didn't. And it's for that very reason--their modern irrelevance--that it was so embarassing for us to lose to them. Because they're small and generally irrelevant. For that reason, we'll continue to address that school down south as "Ohio" because that's the state that school reperesents. They identify with eachother almost exclusively. If OHIO wants to be recognized as anything more than an irrelevant MAC school who upset us in the 2012 NCAA tournament, they'll have to win the support of their own state first. Long live "Beat Ohio." |

What's the askerisk for? Usually when I see one it means there's a footnote somewhere for me to read.* What gives?
*But there's no follow-up to the askerisk on 'improbable' in the OP. |
| 11 weeks 1 day ago | Valenti is a complete moron |
Valenti is a complete moron. I'll listen occassionally to listen to the Michigan fans/callers' analysis (when Foster's in one of the rare moods that he actually speaks up against Valenti to let 'em talk), but I truly cant' stand the man. I heard the rant yesterday you're referencing, and although I completely agree with your analysis about Valenti, it's too bad you didn't hear the response from the other guy (Pat Caputo) afterwards, particularly when he said "Like the other guy here, I went to MSU's school of journalism. But unlike him, I didn't go straight into radio. I went into writing first. So I believe in a little thing called OBJECTIVITY." It was fantastic. But yes. Valenti lacks any capacity for complex thought or civil discussion. But then again, he's a die-hard Spartan fan on the radio who consistently resorts to the "Wal-Mart Wolverines" slur, so what can you expect? |
| 13 weeks 2 days ago | No I'm not kissing up |
No I'm not kissing up, I was simply giving some words of encouragement to a post that at the time had about as many negative votes as postitive, and because it's a topic I was genuinely happy to discuss. As your snarky response points out, there can be a lot of jerks on the mgoboard, so I think that in the face of such snarky banter and discouraging responses, a topic that provokes genuine discussion (as it did for me, someone who both wears hats frequently and is enough of a nerd to have an opinion on the particular attributes of those hats) merits encouragement. |
