Harbaugh looking at Golson
Interesting that we're looking at him to see if he wants to come here. The ship probably sailed once we got Rudock though.

Things a Michigan fan has NEVER said for 500 Alex
I said it frequently from 87 - 07, and then...welp.
Harbaugh collects Quaterbacks the way Rich Rod collected Slot Receivers.
I think its pretty smart to gauge his interest.
Things got away from him quite a bit about half way through the season, but he had won a lot of games prior to that and has some real talent.
He's going to UGA or SCar, which is A-Okay. I'll take Nilla Wafer, Skim Milk Rudock every day of the week and twice on Saturday.
This was posted on twitter by Bruce Feldman and some other prominent journalists. Im on my phone and can't link.

How strange, as they have no issues with academic transgressions while in high school.
That rule was put in place after Masoli transferred to Ole Miss while being suspended by Oregon. Golson has already served his suspension so the rule shouldn't apply to him..
Wasn't Masoli suspended for stealing laptops or something of the like? That wouldn't be an "academic" issue if that's all he was booted for.
Skim milk? Are you calling Ruddock a candy ass? Jimmy better get that guy some whole milk!
After the whole cheating scandal, I don't believe he's the right fit for Michigan.
Held out for a year, and returned to the place where he embarrassed himself. He won the starting job, and then graduated. He didn't take the easy way out, in my opinion he faced it like a man.
I think Golson is good and I would take him in a second. If Harbaugh can hammer ball security into his head he can be very impressive.
Cheating scandal is a harsh way to describe what happened. This wasn't a situation where someone took his ACTs for him, or an entire fake major being created like at UNC. He cheated on a quiz, got caught, and accepted his punishment.

If JH backs the competition, I'll choose to line up with him on that.
If their confidence is being killed, that's a sign they are not a fit to start at QB.
Jim Harbaugh is like the playa' at the bar . . . just because he can get any hot chick he wants, it doesn't mean he is ever going to stop looking.
For transfer QBs under Harbaugh. I think both our transfers have a good chance of starting in '15 and '16. I think by '17 Gentry or Malzone will be more than ready under Harbaugh guidance. I'm not sure if Morris or Speight will ever get to be starters? Morris may have the best chance, if he plays well this season, to beat out O'korn in '16. Only time will tell. Rudock has to be the odds on favorite to win and keep the starting job this season.
Michigan has had 8 straight seasons with Turnover Machines under Center.
Gholson is a playmaker, but he is also a TM.
Michigan will be better off with a Care Taker under Center this year, because the Defense will be Deep, Talented and Stout.

Denard and Devin were amazing Athletes that had a great WOW! factor, that left many of us in awe of their athleticism, but they also made many of us say "please don't turnover the ball, every time they touched it.".
If we want to be competitive this season we need to take care of the goddamn football.
As Bo would say "We are not Here to debate this"
That is all.
OL: Backus, Hutchinson, Jansen + others
That's 3 NFLers who played 10+ years in the league.
Also, this defense will be good, but I don't think it'll be '97 good.
Even if it were, you additionally need to be very good at running the ball and TO margin to be successful with a QB who doesn't wow you but takes care of the ball.
The 1997 team was not a great rushing offense, even with all of those NFL OL that they had. They were decent at running and decent at passing, and protected the football.

C Wood took away 1/2 of the field, both by his playing ability and presence. The overall Defense had about the same talent level as the current roster does. C Wood was the difference. If Peppers can step up and be 3/4 of what C Wood was, then they will really have something special.
Do we have room for like 14 quarterbacks on the roster?
for every 10 quarterbacks on our roster, we get to enroll 2 more without scholly limits. really. i would never kid about this.
I would bet that Golson passes on Michigan due to the fact that we are bringing in Rudock. He needs to play right away to improve his NFL stock. As for the cheating scandal, I'm not sure what admissions will have to say about it if any.

It's unclear whether or not Golson would reciprocate any interest in Michigan. Texas is one program he's been connected to immediately by most outlets, and the Longhorns would be a good fit for his talent. Wolverine247 will have more on this situation as it continues to develop.
He probably walks into Austin and starts right away, given their situation at QB right now, so if that's what Golson would prefer, I would doubt he has much interest in Michigan. That being said, the fact that the current staff is trying to create a situation where we need to expand to a five or six-deep to accommodate depth at some positions is something I definitely don't mind.
*are belong to us.

"Somebody set us up the Harbaugh."
What happen?
JH is trying to collect all of the transfers before the NCAA outlaws it.
...add as many QBs as possible who have defeated Michigan while playing for other teams. If you can't beat them, have them join you.
already?
Nope. QB's are like hookers, blow and aircraft carriers. And starting pitching.
You can never have enough.
See, that's the bad thing about blow. You end up wanting more hookers and aircraft carriers. Oftentimes it leads you to believe that you have too much starting pitching.
Craig James (allegedly) disagrees with the idea that you can never have enough hookers.

He's a good athlete and could probably play a few different positions. I'd probably gauge his interest in that possibility, I don't know how he projects to the NFL as a QB.
As for taking him strictly as a QB, I'm kind of "meh" on that.
