Uh is this a joke? One "Accio lightsaber" followed by an Avada Kedavra would end the fight in about three seconds.
They kind of made the Harry Potter guy a bit of a spazz.

in reel life, huh!?

Presuming you didn't slice your own hand off trying to catch it.
Not even close. In the canon books the jedi are way more ridiculous than the movies, they are capable of using the force to pinch parts of the brain causing instant death (and other such ridiculousness). This wouldn't even be close.

Well, as of yesterday or whatever, there isn't any canon anymore. If it wasn't in Epis 1-6, or Clone Wars, or upcoming in Rebels, it officially didn't happen. So Says The Mouse.
Obi wan Kenobi. Now there's a great wizard.
The original Star Wars trilogy is a masterpiece.
Harry fucking Potter? Are you serious?
for me to poop on.
I love Triumph.
look, I respect the HP series b/c of the depth of their story telling and the way they engage young people into reading and the messages young people get from teh HP books.
but cumong, man it's Star Wars
Depth of the story telling? It's the same thing every book. He goes to school, something bad happens, he rages, someone else fixes the problem, and he goes home.

it's a series of books for kids, let's not pretend we're discussing chauncer or vonnegut here, boss.

Fair point.

Little bit of an oversimplification, don't you think?
Book V was sort of like that. Book VI too. The others weren't. And Book VII was a significant departure from the rest of the series.
That was actually rather well done, and as much as I enjoy both series, yes, the answer probably would have to be Star Wars because many reasons. That being said, I chuckled at the rather famous last words of the guy playing Potter - "What the fuck you talking about?". Somehow, given how that fight scene was set up, it only seemed fitting.
Very cool, I thought. Thanks for sharing that.
There have been classic Star Wars vs LOTR arguments.

I think this is the better debate. =D

I like Star Wars, but I absolutely love the Harry Potter series. My 7 favorite books are the Harry Potter books in some order. I find it frustrating that most of you seem to prefer Star Wars. Oh well, you have a right to your opinions.

What is that supposed to mean? I'm 23 but I will always defend Harry Potter. Star Wars is no more mature than Harry Potter is.

Jar Jar Binks.

Aren't you allowed to like both series? I didn't realize it was an either/or thing. I guess it really doesn't matter since Doctor Who is better than both anyway.
