Wow, I can't believe I haven't read that article before. That's brilliant!
It's shocking to me that with all the influence that graduates out of the B1G year after year, we couldn't be the ones that properly manipulate the media for B1G success just like it's menioned in this article.
Thanks for posting this!

People need to stop saying "academics" as Hand's main or 2nd main reason for choosing a school. It's not academics, it's what he wants to do with his life after football is over.
His version of "academics" is Engineering vs Sports Management/Marketing. The quality of the academics doesn't really have too much of an impact (as someone else has stated). He knows he can get into Alabama's Engineering program and get a good enough education to be successful in that field when football is over. He also knows he can get into UofM's Sports Management program and stay in football potentially forever.
This is what it's coming down to, not which school is higher in educational quality.

Hoke should be held accountable for this!

I had a similar but opposite thought. The lack of offense and the terrible O-Line might explain why our D-Line isn't getting as much done as expected. The D-Line is going up against a complete mess of an O-Line and it looks like our D-Line is tearing it up in practices. But in all actuality, our D-Line is getting nothing accomplished other than a false sense of confidence.
Something has to change on the Offensive side of the ball (O-line + playcalling) and some things need to start progressing on the D-Line or we are in a world of hurt in November.

I'm with you on this one. He didn't look 100% and that sack was not on him at all (despite what Spielman was saying). It was a bootleg to the right where Lewan had only so much time to slow the outside DE. No tackle has the ability to stop a DE when you're given that much space and time in a one on one situation. When I watched live, I tacked this sack to Devin's hesitancy, lack of confidence and lack of an internal clock. He looked shaken at this point.

One reason I sitll have faith in Funk is because Kugler's Dad, an offensive line coach/guru, had more than enough faith in his son's decision to get coached by this staff. If Funk was not a good coach, I don't think Sean Kugler would be sold on his son going to a team with a below average line coach. This guy coached one of the best O-lines in the NFL and knows what it takes to have a successful O-line. I'm sure he did his due diligence when his son was looking at schools.
I really don't think this falls on Funk. This falls on the inexperience of the line. We have 2 solid guys on the ends, but confusion, youth and inexperience in the middle. It will get better with time, hopefully, or they are going to go into "try anything" mode and start putting in younger guys and switching up positions to see what works best. From what they see during the week, these are the best guys.
If we fix the line, the O will be MUCH better. Devin's confidence will go up. Fitz will run better.

Best attitude for anyone of any age.

He's the type of person you route even harder for, on and off the field.

I just pooped a little thinking about having Drake Harris and George Campbell on the field together with Sugar Shane Morris on the trigger, Derrick Green in the backfield, Canteen in the slot and Ian Bunting leaking late down the seam. Not to mention the O-Line we've got coming in. This is going to be a VERY dangerous offense!

Eddie is definitely a solid guy. It's sad he went to OSU though. Living here in Nashville, I've bumped in to him multiple times. Each time I always quietly say "Go Blue." He's done nothing but smile in response. I've also had classes with his wife. She is an amazing person too. If Gardner had to choose to get advice from one OSU alum, I'm happy it's Eddie.

I've got the Dell XPS 10 and absolutely love it. I just bought the cheapest one ($299 limited time offer) and it automatically comes with Office Home and Student. I would pay a couple extra bucks to get the better support, but it's been an amazing product so far (I've had it for about 5 months). Just learn the tips and tricks and it's great.
hope this helps a little

Man... it took me a while to get used to seeing Chelios in a Winged Wheel jersey.
I'm glad it happened, as I'm sure Chelios is too.

Congrats to all of them.
I love seeing Wings getting inducted.
I am very curious to hear Chelios' speech. I can only imagine he will give a lot of praise and support to Chicago and Detroit. It took him a while, but he really grew to absolutely love Detroit. I still remember him crying when he found out he was going to his lifelong archrival Detroit.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||Great News||
As this is still a very tough subject, I lost my Dad to ALS just in April. He suffered for nearly 10 years. He was lucky in a way to have such a slow progressing version (he has 12 grandchilden and he was able to see them all born), but at the same time, it was one of the most painful things I've watched someone go through. He's a UofM Med Grad, so he's obviously sharp as a tack, and the disease didn't take any of that, just his physical abilities. It became more and more difficult to longer he went on. It's such a tortuous disease that I wouldn't even wish this on any of my worst enemies. Luckily he stayed positive through the entire process and never asked "why me" or even complained about it. If it wasn't for his positive attitude and his selflessness, I don't know if I could made it through and I didn't even have the disease.
For those of you who are familiar with the disease, he did get tested and it is not the familial version, so the rest of the family is a bit safer (no one is ever completely safe). I think that fact is what got him through some of the tough times, knowing his kids were safe and he didn't pass it on.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope they find something to fight this disease. It's a terrible disease.
Thanks for posting, it's great positive news is coming out of UofM, but for this, I don't care what school or facility it's coming out of, positive news about ALS is positive news.

Could a new stadium make Detroit an even More attractive place to play for big time free agents?
I will definitely miss the Joe. My best memory was when my whole family went to see the Wings play Washington where the Wings won in OT 5-4, and Fedorov had all 5 goals. Most exciting game I've ever been to.

I would like these if it was a new team coming into the league. But why is Dallas changing their logo?
Doesn't make sense. The day Detroit starts toying with the Winged Wheel or the Old English D, that will be a sad sad sad sad day. I was partially pissed when they made adjustments to the Lion's logo and when they tried changing the PIstons logo/colors.
Not necessary people!

For my own selfish reasons, I wish we would get the Music City Bowl again.
It drew the largest crowds back in the B1G v SEC days. And plus, I would love to see a B1G come to town.
NYC is cool though. Literally.

My first impression is he could have an immediate impact on special teams. With tackling ability, play diagnosing skills, and that kind of straight line speed, he could be force on kickoff and punt coverage.
I don't think Hoke would burn his redshirt for just this purpose, but his redshirt frosh year, you could see him tearing it up on special teams.
Good work Hoke and Co.
