One thing's for sure, Streveler will have a record breaking game against us.

I had the opposite though with Nuss. I thought for sure we'd see an immediate improvement in Gardner, almost instantly (similar to GMatt). This is what Nuss has done at EVERY LEVEL. He turned QBs into all-stars nearly everywhere, and this includes the NFL. This is why I was expecting to see an immediate turnaround. And I'm sitting here wondering where to point the finger. It has to be at the top and it pains me to say that. I want Hoke to succeed, but at this point, I think he's shown you can succeed, just not as head coach at The University of Michigan.

There are moments where the players show the reasons they were ranked so high by recruiting professionals, but at the same time, they show the consistency of a 2-3* recruit more than their 4-5* moments. To me, there's only way direction to point the finger, at coaching. And the hardest thing about that is, we have 2 of the 'better' coordinators at the top of the Offense and Defense. Is the head coach that inept that he's preventing success for 2 coordinators that have had such great success elsewhere (and previously here)? Is that in the specialty coaches (Line, Special teams, Secondary, etc)? Is he preventing them from putting their schemes together? I don't understand it at all. And to think we have 2 back to back 5* QBs and nothing to show from it.
Frustrating....doesn't even describe it.

Sub the oven for a grill and this is GOLDEN! Also, our family is a HUGE garlic fan, so anytime garlic is in the recipe, we nearly double it. I also shoved cloves into some of the fat before cooking to add a nice garlicy flavor in the meat.
Roast Prime Rib of Beef with Garlic-Herb Crust
Serves: 6 to 8
1 bone-in prime rib of beef, 4 to 5 pounds
Remove the roast from the refrigerator and leave it at room temperature while you preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Place the rack in the center of the oven — or, if the roast won’t fit into your oven with the rack in the center, place the rack in the lower position.
While the oven is heating, put the roast rib side down on a rack inside a large, heavy roasting . In a small bowl, stir together the garlic, rosemary, thyme, pepper and salt. Spread the garlic-herb mixture evenly all over the surface of the meat, pressing down firmly with your hands to help the mixture adhere.
Place the roasting pan on the oven rack. Cook the roast for 25 minutes. Then, reduce the temperature setting to 250 degrees and continue roasting until an instant-read thermometer, inserted into the center of the roast without touching bone, reads 120 degrees for rare or 125 degrees for medium rare, 1½ to 2 hours longer.
Remove the roast from the oven and transfer it to a platter. Cover the roast with aluminum foil and leave it to rest in a warm spot for 30 minutes.
Uncover the roast and transfer it to a carving board. Pour the juices that have accumulated on the platter into a sauceboat for serving.

Could this be a game we actually see a lot of James Ross III? He seems to be a perfect fit to cover the TE and still not completely lose LB run coverage.

Am I the only one that saw Canteen out there at the end of the game? I know I had a lot to drink and wasn't seeing things right, but I could have sworn Gardner's last interception at the end was going to Canteen.
Also, i'm' thinking Miller will be our version of the Lion's Raiola this season. For the longest time, fans were calling for him to get out of Dodge because he was too small and couldn't handle the line. Then the line actually starts doing good things and the entire fanbase is praising his abilities. I REALLY hope this is going to be the case for Miller!

As an avid BBQer, my healthy alternative for those that want this exact same recipe, but with a slightly healthy twist, get grass-fed ground beef (80-20). Grass-fed beef has a better fat than normal ground beef (Packed full of Omega 3s). You also get a more 'earthy' flavor out of the meat, which some people prefer, others don't. I had switched to all grass-fed beef (steaks, roasts, ground, etc) and my family has loved it!
Also, another alternative is grass-fed corn/grain finished. This gives you most of the health benefits of grass-fed, with a nice fatty sweet flavor of corn fed.

Awesome! I'm definitely giving this stuff a real try (for me that means buying about 20+ different options they have... or all of it). I LOVE to BBQ on the Egg and when you find a solid product, like Stubbs seems to be, it enhances everything about standing by that grill for hours (Thank you outdoor TV!).
Thanks for the info, i'll check out Publix, Kroger and Harris Teeter down here. Fingers crossed. If not, i'll just order online!
Stubbs, just kicking out an idea for you, blueberry bbq sauce made with real Michigan Blueberries called Go BlueBBQ!

Wish the guy the most success on and off the field. Sounds like he has a really solid view and perspective. In or out of Michigan, these stories are great to hear.

Is Stubbs available nationally, more importantly Nashville, TN? I might have to start trying some of these rubs, marinades and sauces. Anything with the MgoBlog sign of approval is a must try.
The Green Egg will get extensive use this fall!

I just hope the boys stay as hungry throughout the whole season as they looked going into our first game. This could be a surprisingly good season.

Does anyone know the age limit where you can bring kids for free? Or is it 1 day old, buy a ticket? I've been curious about bringing my 4 yr old to a game, but have been very hesitant because I don't want to pay full price for a ticket and then leave at halftime. I know my boy would LOVE most of the game, just not sure if he could keep his attention for the entire thing.

Seemed like Michigan got a ton of transition points off of Montova missed dunks.
Also, nice to have Irvin and Doyle both with another double double (Irvin- 16 points, 10 rebounds; Doyle- 10 points, 10 rebounds). And to have MAAR and Dawkins finish with great supporting numbers (MAAR- 10 points, 2 steals; Dawkins- 10 points, 2 rebounds).
Levert with a great well-rounded performace; 15 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals. Seems like he's getting back in game form.

As a son of a Michigan grad and a son of an amazing man whom ALS has taken his life, I highly suggest donating to the ALS foundation. This one of the most cruel and tortuous diseases and most people have no awareness to the troubles and pain it causes not just to the diagnosed, but all that are involved.
There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about my Dad. He was a huge Michigan fan, he was a loving father, he was an extremely intelligent man. ALS took nearly everything from him, except for the love from his family and friends. I challenge everyone that reads this blog to dump ice water on themselves and most importantly, to donate anything they can to the ALS foundation. If you only can give $0.25, so be it. Anything and everything helps people like Tim Shaw who still has hope.
For a great description of what it'slike being diagnosed with the disease, or in a family with someone diagnosed, I suggest reading this blog:
|5 weeks 6 days ago||This has been one of the most||
This has been one of the most logical and level headed posts on the OL i've seen in a little while. Maybe it's because i feel the exact same as the poster.
Shifting OL positions and trying new combinations is not a new thing to the OL. I watch the Lions religiously (yes, it's been crazy tough to do) and the one thing both of the past 2 regimes have done is move their OL backups to different positions so they know every possible position in the case of injury. A team is MUCH better off tryiing people in new positions and getting them accustomed to different positions in the case of emergency and also to give them the perspective of all line positions. Imagine a line of 5 5 year seniors that have played 4 of the 5 line positions. Just imagine the line calls before the snap. Everyone knows who's who and what is going on.
No, I don't think our line will be top 10 or top 5 in the B1G, but I think Hoke and Co knows exactly who our best 5 are and are trying to get the rest comfortable with the other positions in case of emergency AND in case one of the 5 doesn't live up to their practice skills (let's face it, some are practice players and some are gamers).
Wow... too much to drink before dinner. Go Blue! Love this team!
|7 weeks 1 day ago||As dahblue said above, this||
As dahblue said above, this is the one thing that jumped out at me, only 11 seniors on this team (Devin Gardner is listed as 'GS,' easy to miss). 8 of them will see regular playing time (2 of which are K/P).
My second thought was, if we can have half of the JRs and RS SOs take that '3rd year leap' this year, this team can be VERY dynamic and fun to watch. It's hard to think we went from a young team last year, to another young team this year. But this year we have a ton of competition at each position. This will allow Hoke and Co to bring that physical practice full on like he wants to.
Can Not Wait! GOBLUE!

Loved watching the bench in the highlights. It seemed like everytime Duncan took a long range shot, the entire bench stood up cheering before the ball was halfway to the hoop. If they're that confident when he shoots, I will welcome in with open arms! Like ClearEyesFullHart said, 45% is 45%.
