“The player development is the main thing I like (about Michigan),” Williams said. “You can see that they develop their players. They get them in the gym and they work them hard. And their hard work pays off.”

I really hope we get a couple of those this season, both from Green and Smith!

There are some great hidden spots in the FL panhandle (Seaside, Seagrove, 30A, etc).
The Florida Keys are amazing (Hawk's Cay on Duck Key is great for families).
Northern Michigan is great around Traverse City, Torch Lake, Petoskey, Sleeping Bear, and Charlevoix.
St Augustine in Florida is a really cool town on the Atlantic coast.
These are a few of my family's favorites spots close enough to drive (some are still tough drives with young kids, but doable).

One of the more interesting things to come out of this announcement is the ages of some of the MgoBlog users. I feel old and not so old at the same time.

I didn't get to see Stauskas' debut, but I did get to see some of the GRIII and Jordan Morgan's debut on replay last night. I didn't get to see enough of the game to really get a good feel how GRIII or Morgan did, but here's an Mlive link with some stats:

I agree that we will not let up. Doesn't make sense for us to do. I don't think Germany lets up either, unless it's 1-1 or 2-2 with 15 minutes left. I think the Germans still have enough respect left over that they will concede considering they'll still have top slot and a Klinsmann lead US team would have 2nd.
Also, I agree that WC gets enough money, but it doesn't get 'enough' money. The money that would pour in if the US was a regular contributor would be astronomical. FIFA, like any other organization wants more money. Right now, the key to get international money is to win over the US, which happens to be the least interested major country invovled in the WC.

If we win, Germany is in a tie breaker with the winner of the Ghana v Portugal game (both with 4 points). It would come down to goal differential. It would be imaginable if Portugal or Ghana made up the goal differential in that one single game, but this WC is crazy.
At this point, i'm hoping for a Portugal win 1-0 or 2-1 or 3-2 or 4-3 and so on.

I disagree with some commenters. I don't think Germany wants us to get knocked out. They still have an incredible amount of respect for Klinsman and would love to see him succeed. Also, they would love to see America move on for the love of the game from an international standpoint. It's very clear from social media, if the US does well, the world pays attention. I don't think the WC has to compete for the highest rated sports event internationally, but if it wants to make serious money, the advertisers are going to come from the US.
On a side note, if the US moves to the knockout round, I think you'll see an increase in attendance for MLS games in the near future. Fingers crossed they expand and pick Nashville as a new team. I'd seriously consider season tickets. That would be much more fun that Titans games.

Tough situation to be in for the US. Both of their first 2 games are MUST WIN games.
But, I don't think we could have asked for a better situation (minus the Altidore injury), considering we're in the 'Group of Death.' That POR loss helped us out a lot.

I figured this was a direct move with MSU recruiting galactically and we just found a new region of the universe, Amercy. I guess Mike Weber would be a really good American Football player in that region. Could be a good thing. I'm not sure.

This was my wife's first UofM game and first time in the Big House. I remember a ton of people leaving at halftime or shortly into the 3rd. By the time the 4th started, we had so many empty seats by us. Glad we stayed, that was one of the most incredible games to be at.

I know I'm a bit biased, but having a match or two in Nashville would be a HUGE success. Soccer following here is HUGE. There's been talk of using the Titans Stadium to house a MLS team strictly because the USMNT and USWNT friendlys have been so successful. Plus, I'd love it for my own personal enjoyment.
This is awesome news!

I've recently lossed 3 Grandparents, 2 parents, and 1 dog, I can't even imagine the pain of losing a child. My heart goes out to their family as they watched their daughter fight her whole entire life. Stories like these are inspiring and at the same time incredibly painful.
God Bless her, her family and all of those who made her life worth fighting for.

The biggest key for today is a Michigan Win! And this isn't for the obvious reasons. Living in SEC country, all i've had to listen to is "SEC SEC SEC SEC! We don't get no respect in Basketball! We're good! Better than most! Look, we've got 3 in the Sweet 16, 2 in the Elite Eight!" blah blah blah.
If Michigan loses, that puts 2 SEC teams in the Final Four. They DO NOT need any additional ammo to continue to preach the SEC dominance.
Plus, I work with a ton of UT and UK fans, so coming into work tomorrow having beaten both Tennessee and Kentucky would be AMAZING!
GO BLUE! The REAL BLUE!

I know this might be an unpopular view, but I really hope MSU wins. From a basketball perspective, I think UF v MSU would be a really fun game to watch. Also to have potentially 3 of the 4 Final Four will be a huge thing for the B1G.
Does anyone know when or if there was a Final Four with 3 or more schools from the same conference?

Still like our chances. We play a completely different offensive game that can confuse the young Wildcats.
Morgan has to have a big game again. Randle is a beast.

Either. I think Louisville showed their zone opens deep shots. Kentucky looks very undisciplined and potentially prone to fouling.
However, KY looks physical and big. And Louisville looks big, fast and scrappy.
Coach will find a matchup nightmare with either team. I like our chances. We've beat the best in the best conference.
