OSU's MiataMarv declares for NFL draft
MHJ is gone, thank god. A net win for the good guys in the offseason.

Smart.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:35 PM ^
But he never accomplished his goals at The Ohio State University. Hahahahaha
January 11th, 2024 at 2:38 PM ^
Of course he did; he played himself into the Draft. What else do they play for over there?
January 11th, 2024 at 1:26 PM ^
We truly can have good things.
He's definitely tall enough for the NFL. Didn't need any additional time in the oven. Good luck Marv, enjoy playing for a really, really bad team next year.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:37 PM ^
He was nfl ready when he got to OSU. Can’t stand the buckeyes but he was a friggin nightmare!
January 11th, 2024 at 1:28 PM ^
Shocking.

Pantsless
January 11th, 2024 at 1:34 PM ^
This is whats really important.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:31 PM ^
It’s really hard to dislike MHJ.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:35 PM ^
You're just saying that because you're scared of his dad.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:38 PM ^
Well, I don’t want to be shot. However, I love really successful Buckeyes that never beat UM. I want them to win MVPs, rings, HOF, whatever. For example, I love that Herbstreit has no gold pants. I guess I’m just cruel like that.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:58 PM ^
I guess I was living under a rock. I had no idea Sr. had this kind of history. It's incredible what NFL players can get away with.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:18 PM ^
Are you sure that Herbie's team didn't get pants with one leg, since Gordon Gee proclaimed their tie as one of the great wins in OSU history?
January 11th, 2024 at 3:14 PM ^
Would love to give them a different award sponsored by Michigan when they lose. We can give them some brown pants as a memento to crapping the bed in The Game and as a reminder of their majesty of their toilet bowl stadium and cooler pooper fans.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:37 PM ^
I am not sure what to make of a wide receiver who wore Louis Vuitton cleats for a game against Wisconsin.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:32 PM ^
File him under the CJ Stroud, JT Barrett, Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Zeke Elliot, JK Dobbins, Braxton Miller and co file of "OSU players I'm glad we never have to play against again"
January 11th, 2024 at 1:41 PM ^
Troy Smith!!
Too soon?????
January 11th, 2024 at 1:44 PM ^
Not too soon. Maybe it was a week ago but not today!
January 11th, 2024 at 1:53 PM ^
I didn't mind facing JT Barrett. The guy never did much against us. The problem was that we kept knocking him out of games and his backup would come in and outperform him.
January 11th, 2024 at 3:25 PM ^
JT haunts my dreams. Every time I see great coverage but empty space opening up in the middle I think, "oh no, that guy's going to JT Barrett us!"
January 11th, 2024 at 1:38 PM ^
I hope it's a yearly tradition that some buckeye lies and pretends he might return when we all know they're itching to leave for the league. You sell kids on being the pro program, they aren't gonna give a shit about turning your program around for you aside what is needed to get the bag.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:31 PM ^
With almost everyone else coming back for them, I'm not sure this is accurate. I like others here was hoping for a mass exodus from the apparently shitty culture but they have stemmed the tide.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:40 PM ^
Top 5 pick so smart to go.
I still have some questions because he sort of gave up on a ball twice in the OSU-UM game which a Dan Campbell type wouldn't be so happy about, so I am not throwing him into the Justin Jefferson category until I see a year or two of work in the NFL but he has all the tools to be a top 5 WR in the league.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:41 PM ^
No reason to call him MiataMarv. The guy is one of the best college WRs ever and was so good that he carried OSU to a top 2 ranking pretty much by himself.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:50 PM ^
TBH, as the talking-cars-tuesday guy I'd rather have a new Miata than a new Maserati. Running costs, slow-car-fast, etc.
The Italian would sound better though.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:07 PM ^
Mercedes-AMG-GT-Marv?
January 11th, 2024 at 3:40 PM ^
McLaren Marv?
January 11th, 2024 at 2:19 PM ^
I was gonna say, I don't know what Miatas did to deserve this slander.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:00 PM ^
I think he’s a mega talented player with HOF potential and would not be surprised to see him as an all-pro rookie. But I hardly consider him one of the best college WRs ever.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:46 PM ^
He's just joking around, clearly. The Buckeye fans have assured me that they have NIL money set aside for him that would dwarf any money that he could possibly make in the NFL.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:49 PM ^
I will enjoy not watching him in the NFL. The players who stay on with day are probably playing school. Good for them.
January 11th, 2024 at 1:50 PM ^
i thought it was maverick-marv
January 11th, 2024 at 2:00 PM ^
He didnt like the sound of 0and4 Marv
January 11th, 2024 at 2:00 PM ^
Smart decision. And like Stroud, every time he is on tv, Michigan fans will be able to say he never beat Michigan.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:06 PM ^
Good for him. I hope he gets drafted high, which is most likely the case, and ends up having a great career with the exception of being shut down by DBs who went to Michigan. That's would make me
January 11th, 2024 at 2:15 PM ^
Good for him, now he can go wear his thousand dollar outfit, his Louis Vs, and act hard in the league.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:27 PM ^
To honor Marv finishing his career pantless, I declare this weekend "Pantless Weekend" for all dads, especially if the wives are out of town. Boxers or Michigan Wolverines briefs only.
January 11th, 2024 at 3:30 PM ^
Way ahead of you here
January 11th, 2024 at 2:27 PM ^
Obvs choice to go for him as he will likely be the top non-QB off the board.
Am a bit surprised that a lot of OSU players are staying.
Given what we've learned about that teams culture under RD these choices remind me of the scene at the end of Jerry Maguire when Bob Sugar tries to hug his client the same way Jerry and Rod did, eliciting a "get away from me" shove.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:28 PM ^
He might get a Super Bowl ring at some point, but he'll never own a pair of gold pants.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:29 PM ^
I'm glad we don't have to face him again but there will be someone good taking his spot next year.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:43 PM ^
Egads I remember the years when every damn time a generational 5-star wunderkid Buckeye went down or left he’d get immediately replaced by an even better generational wunderkid.
January 11th, 2024 at 2:32 PM ^
Smart man. He had nothing left to prove at this level. Nothing to gain and everything to lose. doesn’t matter what he could’ve done next year. His draft stock was not going to go any higher.
Glad to know he will be leaving OSU without a single pair of gold pants to his name, but he seems like a good guy so I wish him well in the league.
January 11th, 2024 at 3:13 PM ^
MiataMarv is sort of weak. He's a great player.
Honda McCord on the other hand was hilarious.
January 11th, 2024 at 3:28 PM ^
Welcome to Da Bears, MHJ, now, pass me dat plate of pork chops and kielbasa.
January 11th, 2024 at 3:41 PM ^
Definitely taking him over Caleb Williams in dynasty. 😎
January 11th, 2024 at 4:36 PM ^
I've read this title a few times and I'm still not sure if MiataMarv is supposed to be an insult or a compliment. I think most car people really like Miatas...I'm one of them.
