Draft Boards Predict Burke Second Round
Based on NBADraft.net he is predicted to go as the #39 overall pick (9th pick in the 2nd round) to the Denver Nuggets. DraftExpress gives him the #40 overall pick (10th pick in the 2nd round) to the Boston Celtics. Doesn't seem like he is going first round, I hope he is back!

This was updated Yesterday morning, just in case you were wondering when it was posted...
DUDE, it doesn't matter, he's gone.
EDIT: negged for upvoting your own post.
He hasn't even officially declared, so how can you say that?
you don't stop going to class AND put all your stuff in trash bags if you're coming back.
and YES I know you're all going to say "unverified" "rumor" "Blah blah blah." Sometimes when there's smoke there's fire. I'll take a voluntary posting ban for a year if he comes back and is eligible for next year.
I've never wanted somebody to be banned from posting so badly.
You clearly never had any encounters with BRCE and/or King of Belch.
Hey now...I loved KOB. It was em0 and the red scare-esque constant accusations of every dumb post being made under an alternative handle of his that wearied me.
Although whoever it was that claimed to have access to thousands of IPs, so he couldn't be banned--now THAT I loved.
KOB wasn't so bad until the very end. Then it got insufferable and he had to go. Maybe he just knew it was his time. Maybe he wanted to be banned. Either way, when he went bad, the only poster who was worse to deal with was BRCE.
It's a forum, you crybaby. Man up.
Was BRCE the guy whos avatar had the crazy fingernails and the horn thing coming out of his head?
I think that was Dark Blue. Really never liked that guy/gal.
Why don't we wait to hear HIM say he's leaving before we make such definitive statements? The two most authoritative sources - his father and his coach - both say he has not disenrolled and has not declared.
You clearly never set foot in the former dorm rooms of my friends. Clothes in bags would have looked much more like "home" for those guys. Heck, having anything other than cases of beer would have made the rooms appear more inhabited.
I stand by my statement, Profit. I'll either take a posting ban or I'll just voluntarily not post or comment for a year if he's back next year and eligible to play.
That's hardcore. I don't think such drastic measures are necessary (if only because I tend to think like you - where there's smoke there's fire).
Maybe I just want my own BKFinest moment. Maybe I'm just not afraid of reality like the rest of the folks marking me flamebait. Time will tell. I'll take my lumps whether I'm right or wrong. No backing down.
I'm no troll, you can look up my history.
That's some hardcord shit, man. A smaller man might faint at the notion...
And "sometimes when there's smoke there's fire" it's hash bash. /justsayin
you don't stop going to class AND put all your stuff in trash bags if you're coming back.
There is another possibility: maybe he was having a bad day recently and said "F it, I'm not going to class anymore. I'm going pro," but then (possibly after talking to his parents and/or Beilein) reconsidered a day or two later. That would not necessarily make the earlier reports wrong, just out of date.
I don't see how this logic can stand against the arsenal of evidence he has deployed: an unverified twitter pic and a slightly comedic tweet from a classmate.
Honestly, I hadn't thought of that scenario. Considering the reactionary nature of teenagers, that's a solid possibility. However, the hockey players tweet seems to suggest he hasn't been to class in a month+...that's not a "change of heart" decision, IMO.
There were several classes I never went to and I never disenrolled.
I pretty much assumed the Guptill tweet was tongue-in-cheek.
Simply put, he has not been going to class in the last about three weeks, and that's fact. I'm sure they can pull some strings to get him to finish these classes to make him eligible should he decide to return, but the fact is he hasn't been going to class.
Upvoting your own thread is now MGo"In" - you must have missed the memo.
Man, I've never been one to keep up with current trends.
No major credible news outlet predicts him as a first rounder. The only people telling him to go are trying to make a quick buck off of it somehow.
Like Mark Hollis?
Hollis didn't tell him to go.

No matter when he goes he will be the last freshman taken at the draft, by a significant margin.
14 hours, 1 minute. That's how long we made it today without a Trey Burke thread that will contain no actual information. New record.
The draft boards are a joke. A few days ago Trey wasn't on their radar. Now all of a sudden he's 2nd round material? It's kind of a self fullfilling prophecy (ie. if you say it enough it'll happen). Right up until the moment you fall out of the first round or worse go undrafted all together...
As I recall, until the leak/rumor/non-announcement he was late first round of the 2013 mock on at least one of the sites that now has him early second of their 2012. "Not on the radar" isn't quite the right phrase.
since more college underclassment are declaring everyday.
Then Trey ought to be VERY worried if he does come out cause both of those services had Darius getting drafted higher in their mock drafts than he actually did. DraftExpress had him as the 34th pick going to the Wizzards and NBA Draft.net had him going 31st to the Heat. And as we all remember he went 41st to the Lakers.

So if history holds for these two services anyways, Trey will be a deep 2nd rounder or fall out of the draft entirely.
had Manny Harris at #53 in 2010 and Draftexpress had him undrafted FYI.
And yet they still declare anyways.....
Can somebody enlighten me as to the whole "agent-no agent pull back from draft thing?" Can't they declare but if they dont sign with an agent still think better of it later and return to school? And if they can, does anybody know what the stipulations are on such a move?
That's the deadline to pull out of the draft if you haven't signed with an agent.
I bet careful analysis that I am too lazy to do would show that the variance in actual draft position relative to projected draft position is much greater in the right-hand tail of the distribution. Plus, the distribution is inherently right-skewed, since there's no draft number lower than "1" but plenty of numbers greater than "39."
I think Trey ought to be extremely worried at that ranking. It's one thing if you're a senior (in which case you have no choice) or an overseas player (in which case you can always go back to playing for the Milan Designers or whatever). But man, Trey should really stay at least one more year.
I do not put any stock in that website at all. Essentially a fan site that parlayed a good URL into getting hits and built its reputation off that. Their predicitions vary wildly as other sources break projections as draft nears. Draftexpress is a little better, but both have terrible track records with draft accuracy, especially the 2nd Round.
But any projection this early prior to workouts is like blindly throwing darts, especially for the 2nd round.
he's going by what the advisory committee told him.
Contrary to Brian's informant, I don't think there is anyway the advisory committee told him he was a 20-35 prospect unless they gave 30 other guys the same projection.
Has he made a choice?
I'm really hoping this turns out the best for Trey whatever he chooses. He definitely has True Grit. But I'm not sure if that will translate to the next level.
