Rich Rod Spotted in Oklahoma Polo
So, Detroit News (not THAT Detroit news) is reporting that Rich Rod was spotted in an Oklahoma polo.
Apparently he's been visiting spring workouts in Norman, OK.
Do anything for anyone? Not sure if it does for me, but I thought it was a curious bit.
A search and quick scan of the first 2 pages turned up no results on this, so I cautiously posted.

I don't know why, but when I clicked on that picture I busted out laughing.

Spots on State St.
they had the unhealthiest food brought in for lunch almost every day for two years. (coaches lunch, for staff in Schembechler)
One man's "healthy" is another man's "delicious chicken wing".

If eating Spots' chicken wings is wrong, then I don't wanna be right.
Barwis withdrawl.

Zip-off cargo pants! Zip-off cargo paaaants!
March 26th, 2011 at 11:13 PM ^
still better than jorts imo
March 26th, 2011 at 11:19 PM ^
Not by much. Especially when they have about 2" of unnecessary material draped over the shoes because the wearer doesn't know how to get pants of the proper length.
At least he's not wearing a white and blue polo.
What's wrong with zipoff cargo pants? Great for camping/hiking and other outdoor activities. I love mine.
They are great for camping/hiking/etc.
They are not great for anything else.

OOHHH no Denard to Oklahoma---all the national championships to the Sooners! DOOM
March 26th, 2011 at 10:47 PM ^
Apparently he never fully embraced Michigan and the fab five. Kneecaps scare me.
March 26th, 2011 at 10:48 PM ^
I think it means that he likes wearing the free shit that he gets.

Rich Rod as an offensive coordinator makes any team scary right off the bat if they have any talent at all, especially speed. If he becomes OK's OC, and they recruit for him on that side of the ball for a couple years...yikes. Mack Brown is pissing his pants right now.
March 26th, 2011 at 11:06 PM ^
Frankly, Rich Rod as an HC makes any team scary in my opinion. No, it didn't work out at UM, but he's not headed to an OC job in my opinion. He'll HC somewhere soon I think.
March 27th, 2011 at 12:09 AM ^
I think he's much scarier as an OC. When I think of his skills as a coach, I can't think of any that are HC-centric.
He'll probably get a HC job eventually, but he's going to have to figure out how to manage the defensive side of the ball if he wants to succeed. He has to either give up his fixation with the 3-3-5 or find a DC who is a guru at running that defense. Hiring a 4-3/3-4 guy who is "open" to the 3-3-5 is not the answer.

I think Mack Brown has been pissing his pants for a while already

I'd gladly take a free pair of Nikes.
March 27th, 2011 at 12:13 AM ^
And I'll gladly take those Nikes for some wicked sweet tattoos.
(I'm not sure this is ever going to get old)

Rich Rodriguez looks good, and eager to coach up someone.
I'll always have a soft spot for RR. I hope he finally gets the chance to coach somewhere that has a loaded roster and have 100% support from everyone. I have no doubt he will succeed.
March 27th, 2011 at 12:14 PM ^
It's very rare the coach that begins a job with 100% support. RR's going to be waiting a long time if that is what it's going to take for him to be successful again.

Let the man live his life.

Were I able, I would upboat you to heaven.

Plus infinity.

I'd love to see RR catch on at OU. Not sure who they hired after their OC came to Indiana, but I think Rich would do extremely well as a consultant or something.
Former quarterback and quarterbacks coach Josh Heupel was promoted to OC.
March 26th, 2011 at 10:56 PM ^
I also hope he succeeds wherever he ends up. Think Oklahoma would look good with his assistance.
March 26th, 2011 at 11:07 PM ^
Stoops is a recruiting machine. What RR could do with the talent in Texas and OU's national reach is scary.
It really is. If he became OU's OC, they would go on a MNC run that would be in football on par with what Wooden/UCLA did in backetball.

Me spotted not caring.
March 26th, 2011 at 11:41 PM ^
Me spotted seconding. And sighing.
March 26th, 2011 at 11:49 PM ^
Were you spotted on opposites day?

I don't even know anymore.

Which is why you took time to comment on the thread right?
March 26th, 2011 at 11:17 PM ^
His shorts looks pleated.
March 26th, 2011 at 11:24 PM ^
I didnt think this was worth its own thread, but since we are on the topic of RR, he is going to be in on HBO.
It is going to be focusing on Pay for Play on March 30th.
"Two long-form segments anchor the program, setting the stage for an extended roundtable panel hosted by Bryant Gumbel and featuring former University of Michigan head football coach Rich Rodriguez, outspoken college basketball commentator Billy Packer, print journalist Jason Whitlock of FoxSports.com and former Ivy League Athletics Commissioner Jeff Orleans. The group will address a host of issues relating to the NCAA and the regulation of its 1,055 member schools.
"It seems like it may involve Auburn. It should be interesting nontheless.

EARLY EDIT: I know its a couple days old, but I didnt think it was worth its own thread. Also, I'm really drunk so I'm just going to say sorry to the Grammer nazis.

Kelsey Grammer is a Nazi?
I'm just sayin'....
Or, uh, he seems like he would be one.
