Spring Game Saturday Bad Weather ?
Saturdays Spring Game Weather
Rain showers early, then remaining overcast and windy later in the day. Morning high of 51F with temps falling to near 40. Winds WNW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.
Will they move the game inside to prevent injuries.
Sunday has better weather projection.
This game should be played in Mid April.
Otherwise move it to Ford Field if the turf is updated by than.
OSU Spring game is April 15

DISCUSS MAN was yesterday. Today we are THOUGHTS MAN.
It’s Tuesday.
Check again on Friday
Good atmosphere to see what the kickers are made of.
We are really going to miss Moody
Nothing worse then seeing the FG kicker run on the field and saying to yourself please please please let this go in. The last several years when Moody has ran onto field its been here is 3.
Because we like starting spring practice two weeks earlier than osu -- i'm fine with the recent results.
Yeah, but DON'T tell the THE osu team about bad weather.
Trigger warning, and all that, y'know? It might give them anxiety.

After last year, warm and sunny November afternoons also give them anxiety and PTSD.

OSU players are praying that flu season is done by then.
Rain will help keep the goblins away
they will be on monroe hash bashing.
after the game do the players get juice boxes?
Orange slices at half time
They get double or triple treats but only if one of the parents will pay for it at the concession stand.
They get Uncrustables provided the sandwiches aren't used as projectiles en route to the locker room.

PB &J?
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains.
A different sport, but exceptional reference….
Sometimes you eat the bar, sometimes the bar eats you
Sounds like normal weather for the Michigan spring football game. If it works for the team then I'm good with it. I don't plan to go because I thought it a bit boring for a spectator.
Are they having a DJ? Is Anthony Bellino going to get everyone to say "Let's Go Blue!"? T-shirt toss? Maybe that will make a difference.
OSU can't play in bad weather so they need to wait.
If you like those stadium gimmicks, you should really get to a game at Maryland. It really captures that “regional minor league commercial athletics” vibe
I never understood why our spring game so early
It aligns with the academic calendar. Spring break for students is very early - for other reasons.
Aren't exams at the end of April. Seems like it would be better to start practice after Spring Break and end around April 15th.
Finals are the end of April, correct.
So, players can finish spring camp, and have a couple of weeks to focus on their classes before final exams.
Feel like this could just be copied and pasted every year
Consider it done (getting a head start on next year):
"Feel like this could just be copied and pasted every year"
Sounds like perfect weather for football to me.
I've lived in Ann Arbor since 1991, and it's been rare when the weather for the spring game is even decent. Normally, it's cold and nasty. Moving it later given the academic schedule is probably not doable. So, it will almost always be like this.
Honestly I have not thought about the Spring “game” since like 2013. They try their absolute hardest to make it not at all resemble a game. Frankly it doesn’t look intended for consumption.
It was a game as recently as last year
Yes, it was the most real spring game in all of the Big-10 conference. Last year I watched the other so call spring games on BTN. MSU had only drills, and we saw how their season went. OSU had a few minutes of a scrimmage with alternate scoring. Nebraska had 80,000 fans but it was in late April and it was sunny and in the 60s in Lincoln.

It’s not really intended for consumption, it’s just football consumes people so they are more interested in it than they should be. It’s meant for the players and team to practice and play. That’s all it is. Think of it as an all star game when really all you want is no one to get hurt and see players do cool stuff. It is not a football game.
I disagree.
It should be intended for consumption as it is in many programs that embrace the game. At Michigan it seems like it is an afterthought. It gives fans an opportunity to watch their team. I get the respect that seems to be paid to the academic calendar, but why not schedule it indoors and at least have an atmosphere where the weather doesn't plain suck. On top of that for local fans who can't afford what it costs to attend a game during the season, it's a chance to see the team up close.
If Harbaugh were to cancel to stadium game and move it indoors, he can do what he did a few years back and have a stadium practice for fans in August during fall camp. I went to that event and it was 90 deg and sat in the sun but it was a whole lot better than 40 deg, windy and rainy at times.
I'm sure Jim does want to have good fan attendance but Mother Nature may say otherwise-this year.

The current system seems to be working really well lately. Let's not mess with it. I think most fans are willing to put up with a Spring game focused on improving the team even if it means it's not as much fun to watch.
Rumor has it that another school in the conference is filing a complaint against Michigan. It appears their rationale is - playing the Spring Game in inclement weather may give Michigan an unfair advantage if a future game, particularly one played at the end of November, is played in difficult conditions.
There was an added degree of emphasis if any snowflakes would be in the forecast.
I made a joke (above) about Tosu and bad weather but yours — snowflakes?! — is much better.
Did an OSU fan write this post? We dont care about the weather in the great state of Michigan. Rain or shine, baby!
I didn't see the flu listed as an excuse so probably not an OSU fan.
It seems like the game is played a little early in the year. Would like to see it pushed out a couple of weeks and have a chance at better weather
...and so would I, but I get it, Jim wants his players to focus on the crunch for final exams and some who are graduating. The winter semester ends in late April and finals are the week before.
Remember, this is Michigan where academic standards matter. (As opposed to MSU or OSU)
It's Tuesday, which means you should do yourself a favor and not look at any weather forecasts that are more than 12 hours away. 12 Hours may still be pushing the limit on accuracy when it comes to weather in Michigan. Between a serious reduction in social media, not having an itinerary on vacation, and not looking at the weather I eliminated almost 90% of the things I thought were going to happen but didn't.
It will not be raining during the game. I have spoken.
Checking the weather with a boobarometer... interesting.
Early April weather sucks. I remember Tigers opening day would be brutally cold and always wondered when they delay the season start.
Reminds me of my first day coaching Little League. It was so cold that, afterward, I couldn't grip the car key with thumb & finger but had to use knuckles on both hands.
